New: Block without asking. Turn it on for any saved place and Focal blocks your apps when you arrive, then lets you know. Prefer to be asked? That's still the default. Fixes: - Places no longer get saved more than once. Any copies you already have are merged automatically. - Apps chosen for a place now stay blocked when you open Focal there. - Home shows exactly what is blocked, including categories. - Leaving a place before Focal asks no longer brings the question after you've gone. - "Focus here?" no longer pops up twice in a row, or for places you've already saved. - Google sign-in works again. - Clearer messages when signing up with email. Plus small design and wording improvements.

Focal is now free to start. Run focus timers that block up to 3 apps and see your Stats at no cost. Try Pro free for a week to unlock everything else. New in this update: - Timers unlock on their own. When a focus session ends, your apps open back up automatically, even if Focal is closed. - Screen time saved. Stats now shows how much time you took back this week and this month. - Focus by place. See where you focus best: library, gym, cafe, or anywhere you've saved. - Badges. Earn 30 badges for streaks, milestones and resisting distractions, all kept in your new Trophy Cabinet. - Weekly score now shows real progress toward your weekly goal. Smarter places: - More accurate arrival detection. - Say no to "Focus here?" and Focal stays quiet instead of asking again. - Fewer repeat prompts after you leave or skip a spot. Accounts: - Focal now uses a signed-in account so your progress and purchases stay with you. If you used Focal without an account, just sign in and your subscription will be restored. Plus bug fixes and performance improvements.

- Fixed: picking a place from search no longer shows a black screen - After saving a place, you now see which apps it will block - Leaving a saved place unblocks your apps more reliably, even with Focal closed - New spots are named by the place itself, like "Looks like you're at Capital One Café" - New setting: get asked the moment you arrive at a saved place - Daily reminders now say something different each day - Already have an account? Sign in right from the welcome screen - Clearer permission setup during onboarding

A fresh new look, and a lot of fixes. • New design: a cleaner Today screen with your streak, today's focus and your daily goal at a glance, plus a calmer dark mode. • Scheduled blocks now live on Today, so your timetable is one tap away. • Scheduled sessions set for a future day now block on that day, and their reminders arrive on time. • Apps you unlock for a few minutes are blocked again when the time is up. • Block automatically shows exactly what it still needs, and takes you straight to it. • Saving a place records where you actually are, more precisely. • Focal reminds you if location isn't set to Always, so arrivals keep working. • Many small fixes so every button leads somewhere.

Blocking by place now works the way it was meant to. Answering the arrival notification does what it says. Press and hold it, tap Block my apps, and your apps are blocked without Focal ever opening. Previously that button did nothing at all. Focal also notices places on its own now. Stay somewhere worth focusing at, like a cafe, a library or a campus, and it offers to save the spot. Your office or classroom counts too: Apple Maps cannot recognise those, so Focal learns them from you going back. It waits until you have actually settled in before it asks, rather than the moment you walk through the door. Leaving unblocks your apps again and tells you it did. Unblocking by hand now takes a twenty second wait wherever you do it, so switching Focal off is never quicker than the thing it is protecting you from. Leaving a place still unblocks straight away, because you have already walked out. Also fixed: blocking by place works for subscribers who open Focal without a connection, the home screen timers no longer hide themselves before you pick your apps, and you can set a custom session length there.

Focal now blocks by place. Save the places you focus at, like your library or a classroom, and Focal blocks your distracting apps when you arrive and stay. Leave, and everything unblocks on its own. It only asks about places you come back to, never about home, and each place can block its own list of apps. Blocking by place is part of Focal Pro. The home screen is simpler too: what is blocked right now, four one tap timers, and a way to stop whenever you want. The free plan still blocks up to 3 apps.

Try Focal before you subscribe. Onboarding no longer asks for a subscription up front. Set up your blocks, run your first session, and see how it works before deciding anything. Have a code? Enter it in Settings under "Redeem a code" to unlock a free week of Focal Pro. Codes from creators work there, and so do App Store offer codes. While a free week is running, Settings shows how many days are left.

Scheduled blocks. Set a repeating weekly window and Focal locks your apps then, on its own. Pick your days, pick your hours, and get a heads-up a few minutes before it starts. Blocked apps now have a way through that costs something. Tap "Unlock" on the block screen and Focal asks why, then holds you for ten seconds before letting you in. Fixed a bug where a one-off task could keep blocking your apps at the same time every day, long after that day had passed. Streaks are honest now. A missed day ends the streak, rather than being quietly bridged. You can change your display name in My Account. Also: better layout on iPad, a proper launch screen, and a lot of small polish throughout.

Ten seconds, then a reason — the same whether you end a session early or open something you blocked • "I'm Done" is gone. Finish the timer and the session counts, and your task is checked off automatically • New: catch me before I scroll. Set up once and Forge stops you the moment you open a distracting app, not after • Change your display name in My Account • The block screen now shows the Forge mark and says plainly what's happening • Clearer wording throughout, and fixes to the reason screen and focus-type list
