I gave this a try and I’m actually quite impressed with it. Scans the record and analyzes the vinyl and label to assess its condition and has correctly identified the records that i chose to use to give this a try. It gives you all sorts of useful information about your record to which you can always do further research but it gives you a very good base and then adds it to your crate so you can easily keep track of what you have.As for covers and sleeves it did a pretty accurate job of identifying and identifying the blemishes for example I even scanned a cover that had a label that was torn off and it correctly identified that and that was very impressive. But why do i only give it 4 stars? It would be great if there was a field or note section to where you could add your own notes about the record that you scanned and add to your crate and to perhaps add a flag to that listing because perhaps it’s a record that you hope to find a better copy of so having a sort of way to flag a listing so it stands out in your crate to make it easier to find. And it would also be great if the scanning also would include the ability to scan the b-side and have them both in one file for 45s in the crate. In the case of albums it would be great when you take a picture of the cover and be able to have it tied with the record in the crate instead of having a separate file in the crate for the cover and any b-sides be it LP or 45.And lastly to be able to export your library to a data file or print it out.Now I know that this is a free app and that’s a lot to ask for however for what it does have and for what it can do is very very impressive. The only thing I don’t know is how many records will this app hold because of you’re like me and have a vast collection that you would like to have with you on your phone when you go out record hunting it would be nice to know what the limit amount is given especially since each side of a record and each cover photo is in its own listing. But like I said it is an impressive app given that it is free. Now If it had options of those features that I had mentioned above yeah i would probably pony up 50 bucks as a one time purchase unlimited lifetime user license. Nobody likes monthly and ongoing subscription fees.So I hope that this developer doesn’t fall into the pitfalls of the others should those things be added and go a subscription route. Hint—think of buying a program for a computer except for its for your phone or iPad and perhaps database transfer ability or sharing to computer or iPad 😉In conclusion—-free app—-very easy and simple to use—-and pretty accurate with the analytics on both records and covers. Kudos to the developer on this one.
