THE ANGELUS BELL — A Sacred Tradition, Reimagined for Your Daily Life
For centuries, church bells called Christians to pause three times a day — at 6 AM, noon, and 6 PM — to pray The Angelus, a meditation on the Incarnation. In village squares and open fields, across Europe and beyond, people stopped what they were doing and turned their hearts to God.
That tradition has faded. We're bringing it back.
The Angelus Bell transforms your iPhone into a sacred timekeeper, ringing authentic church bells at the appointed hours — not synthetic sounds or generic notifications, but real recordings from cathedrals and monasteries around the world. The same sacred tones that once echoed across generations, now in your pocket.
AUTHENTIC SACRED SOUND
Experience genuine church bell recordings from historic locations including the Abbey of Notre-Dame in Le Barroux and the Church of St. Marcellus in Trento. Each bell carries centuries of prayer and devotion, bringing that sacred atmosphere wherever you are.
DESIGNED FOR BEAUTY & SIMPLICITY
Our app lives quietly on your device until the appointed hour arrives. When 6 AM, noon, or 6 PM comes, authentic church bells ring with a gentle reminder to pause and pray. Select your preferred bell recordings, choose which hours to observe, and let sacred tradition guide your day.
APPLE WATCH COMPANION
Never miss The Angelus with seamless Apple Watch integration. Gentle haptic feedback and beautiful complications keep you connected to this ancient rhythm of prayer, whether your phone is nearby or not.
PRIVACY BY DESIGN
No accounts required. No subscriptions. No tracking. No data collection. The Angelus Bell operates entirely on your device, respecting both your privacy and the sacred nature of prayer. Notifications are local only — your devotions remain between you and God.

Love this app! Due to my schedule I only have it notify me at noon. But I pray immediately and know many others are doing the dam thing at the same time. I love being able to change which bells I hear. Great that it’s in both English and Latin as well! Please donate, even a small amount no doubt helps. There are no ads or anything, just a quick reminder on both my phone and watch to stop and say this simple lovely quick prayer of the ages. Thank you to the app developers!

The Bells are no longer Silenced

I can remember when you could always hear the church bells where ever you were. Now in this modern time, many have gone silent. With all the noise around us people found it disturbing, and churches gave in. It is so nice to have an app that reminds us through out the day to turn our attention to something more important. To hear those church bells ring once again. It is also great that the prayers are provided. No searching or trying to remember.

I’ve been thinking about a prayer reminder app like this for a while now, and boom — here it is! I absolutely love the app! Especially at work, the prayers come straight to my watch so I can easily follow along and pray. My mom still does this and hasn’t stopped, and now I can do the same and keep the tradition going. Highly recommend!

Great way to pray

I love the prompts. I’m praying these prayers much more consistently now because of the notifications. I especially love that tapping the notification takes you straight to the prayer, and the bell chimes are going as soon as you open it. It makes it really easy to pause and pray in the moment. Thank you!
