It sums both channels, so a sound panned to one side isn't lost. Left and right are added at half level each into one mono channel. Taking only the left channel would drop whatever sits on the right.
It's mono, yo! batch converts stereo WAV and AIFF files to mono, for hardware samplers and anything else that wants mono. Some samplers only play mono files, like the original Elektron Digitakt and the Model:Samples. On others, like the Roland SP-404 and the Akai MPC, a mono file takes half the space of a stereo one.
HOW IT WORKS
• Drag in WAV or AIFF files, or a whole folder, or press ⌘O
• Choose an output folder
• Pick the format, bit depth and sample rate
• Press Start
CONVERT A WHOLE SAMPLE PACK
Drop in a folder and every WAV and AIFF inside it is converted, subfolders included, into the same folder structure. Your kicks, snares and loops stay where you put them. There's no file limit.
OUTPUT CONTROL
• Bit depth: 16-bit (default), 24-bit or 32-bit float
• Format: WAV or AIFF
• Sample rate: keep the original, or convert to 44.1, 48 or 96 kHz
