YOUR FACE STAYS ON SCREEN
On iPhone and iPad, Picture in Picture keeps your camera live over other apps while you record them, and your face is in the recording. On Mac, your camera sits in a floating overlay or in its own window that stays on top.
FREE, AND NOT A TRIAL
Recording is free up to 1080p, with no export limit. On iPhone and iPad the free version shows an ad between sessions. Pro removes the ads and unlocks Source (Native) recording at your screen's full resolution. The Mac app has no ads at all, so on Mac, Pro adds Source (Native). Pro is a subscription or a one-time purchase.

• Play a video inside Reel and record it together with your camera for reactions, commentary and guided walkthroughs.
• Or keep the camera inside Reel and drag it wherever your face and content both stay visible.
• Choose the resolution, lock the orientation for consistent framing, and save MP4 recordings to your photo library.
• Turn the microphone on in the recording sheet before you start: narration can't be added afterwards.
YOUR VOICE AND THE APP'S SOUND
Record your microphone and the app or system sound together, as one mixed track or as two separate tracks in the MP4. Separate tracks let you adjust your narration in an editor without changing the app's sound.
CHANGE THE SCENE BEHIND YOU
Blur your surroundings, or replace them with an image or a looping video, using on-device person segmentation. Switch backgrounds during a recording to move between scenes without ending the take. Adjust fit, fill and framing to suit your presentation.
Mac
Reel records your whole display with your camera on top. With the floating camera you can leave Reel's own window out of the recording. Set the microphone and system audio levels separately, and press ⌘R in Reel to start and stop. When you stop, you choose where to save the MP4.
