Perenne now asks how you write. The first time you open a notebook, choose Apple Pencil or fingers and the app sets itself up for you: with the pencil, your finger turns the pages, just like a real notebook. You can change this anytime in Settings. The welcome tour is also clearer about what's free: the first 6 pages of every notebook, with no time limit. Thank you for your feedback. Page colors: give any page its own color — left page, right page, both, or the whole notebook. Plus a free color picker for paper and desk background. A smarter lasso: new Duplicate button, and anything you paste or duplicate stays selected — move it, resize it, then tap away to set it down. Selection that hugs your strokes: the lasso now outlines the exact shape of what you selected with an animated dotted contour. Apple Pencil hover: on supported iPads, the selection menu highlights under the Pencil before you tap. Fountain pen, fixed: thick calligraphic strokes keep their full body after you lift the Pencil. Scan Text: point the camera at a book or pick a photo from your library, select the text you want, and it lands on your page as a text box, sized to fit its content. Pin your favourite pen colour: long-press any colour swatch to make it your default. The pen starts with it every time you open the app. Long-press again to remove the pin. A better built-in browser: pull down to refresh, find text on the page, clip parts of a website onto your page, drag selected text straight into your notebook, a new "Note taking" group in favourites, and Google sign-in now works reliably. Smoother, sharper ink: fixed a flicker that could make letters blink while writing fast, and strokes now keep their full crispness after you lift the Pencil. Fountain Pen: a real nib on your iPad. The line swells on downstrokes and thins on upstrokes, and the nib turns with your Pencil — just like real calligraphy. Real-scale Ruler: 1 cm on screen is a true centimeter. Drag it, rotate it with two fingers, flip it with a double tap, and your strokes snap to its edge. Choose cm or inches in Settings. Search your handwriting: Perenne Note now reads the words you write by hand, right on your device. Search inside a notebook and jump to the page — the word lights up so you spot it at a glance.
