We fixed Sign in with Google. Before this update, it showed an error instead of the Google sign-in page. In Hold mode, the voice sheet no longer scrolls. Before, a scroll could end your question as soon as you started it.

Explain and Ask now open on the same clear page as the sparkle button. The passage stays in view behind it, and each answer writes itself in as one smooth line. Comments have a new look. A comment thread opens like a chapter: the book, the verse number, and the verse itself. To see the verses around it, tap Verses around it. To cite one of those verses in your comment, tap it. Your comments sit on their own cards. When you ask Berean from a comment thread, your question and the answer read as a conversation. When you ask several questions about a chapter, scroll up to read the earlier answers. Your reading plan lists each chapter on its own line, with the book named every time. Profile is now called Settings. We fixed a bug that showed a section heading as part of a poem and skipped the first words of the next verse, as in Matthew 15.

Put the Bible on your Home Screen. Verse of the Day shows a new verse each day, set beside a painting by James Tissot. Today's Reading shows the chapters for your plan day, or the chapter where you stopped. To add a widget, touch and hold your Home Screen, then tap Edit. Both widgets also fit on your Lock Screen. Tap the sparkle button to ask a question. A clear page rises over the passage, and you can still see the verses behind it. You feel a tap when your question sends and when the answer starts. To ask without speaking, tap the keyboard button and type your question. Choose how you speak with the button at the bottom left. In Auto, Berean sends your question when you stop talking. In Hold, hold anywhere on the screen while you speak, then let go to send. Berean remembers your choice. Answers appear word by word. When an answer names another passage, that reference stands out on the page. When Berean searches the web for an answer, the screen tells you. Your reading plan knows what you already read. If you read a chapter on your own, the plan skips it. When you finish a day, you can continue to the next day, or come back tomorrow: the next day is ready when you open the app. The playback bar is now Liquid Glass, and the lock screen shows the Berean icon while a chapter plays. We fixed a bug that moved the reading from the speaker to the earpiece after you switched to another app.

Hear the Bible read by a full cast. Each person who speaks has their own voice. To hear one narrator instead, open Profile, then Voices. Berean now hears a quiet voice much better, and it gets Bible names right more often. When you hold the mic, a soft light moves around the edge of the screen. The light changes color while Berean prepares your answer. The reading controls at the top take less space. The highlight button shows the verse that it saves. Play, pause, and skip give a light tap. Status messages are smaller. When you read offline, the message folds into an icon. We also fixed bugs in comments and in skipping while paused, and VoiceOver reads more of the app clearly.

Listen & Interact is easier to learn. Every control at the top now has a label. If you tap the mic, a hint tells you to hold it. Your reading plan shows a small book for each chapter of the day. A book fills in when you read its chapter.

Your free trial now comes through the App Store: 7 days on the yearly plan, 3 days on the monthly plan. Start it from the paywall, cancel anytime in Settings.

This update adds offline audio for Berean Pro, and a new finish to every chapter. - Offline audio: download any book, or the whole Bible, from Profile. Every book states its size first. Downloads continue in the background, and a downloaded chapter plays in Listen & Interact with no connection. Remove any download anytime. - When you finish a chapter, a seal marks it and shows your next step. - Milestones at 7, 30, 100, and 365 days in a row get their own card. You can share it. - The passage page is redesigned, with the book's plate and clearer choices. - Back buttons are now the standard iOS ones, everywhere. - Chapters open faster. Answers stream without slowing the page.

This update adds an update notice and improves voice questions. - When a new version of Berean is ready, the home screen tells you. Update in one tap, or choose Not now. - Voice questions understand the names in the passage better. - When you cancel a voice question, Berean clears it completely. Your next question starts fresh.

This update makes listening more dependable. - Lock screen and headphone controls. Play, pause, skip 10 seconds, and move to the next chapter without unlocking your phone. - Narration keeps playing through the lock screen, phone calls, and app switches, and resumes where you left off. - Chapters you have heard before play instantly, and the next chapter loads ahead of time. - Listen & Interact starts the reading right away and connects the voice service in the background. If the connection drops, your question and answer stay on screen. - The reading plan now reaches 100%, Next appears after a book's last chapter, and long book names fit on smaller phones. - Better support for iPad, including landscape.

Ask now opens with a question written for the passage you selected, beside the two you always have. The reading plan measures its pace from the day you actually began, not the day you turned it on. Settings shows the start date, lets you change it, and says how many days ahead or behind you are. Picking a chapter back up shows where you left off on a single page, and finishing one names what comes next without a card in the way. Every animation now settles with the same hand, the reading screen arrives sooner, and the last traces of blue are gone from alerts and menus. Highlights look the same whether you read or listen.

Listening is now the same page as reading. The full chapter stays on screen while it reads. Tap a verse to highlight it, comment on it, or ask about it. The audio pauses while you write and resumes when you close. New floating playback controls, with a speed slider. To ask out loud, hold the mic, speak, and let go to send. Download a book's audio in Settings and listen without a connection. Chapters open like a title page in both readers. Audio now stays on your AirPods between chapters, keeps playing in the background, and holds one volume.

Version 2.0 is the biggest change to Berean yet. ASK ABOUT ANY VERSE Select a verse, or several at once, and tap Explain for a plain-English study note in seconds. Ask follow-up questions and Berean keeps the thread. A REDESIGNED HOME A quiet list of all 66 books replaces the old picker. It expands in place, keeps today's reading on top, and search is one pull away. A BETTER CONVERSATION Listen & Interact has a redesigned panel, new thinking and listening animations, and a clearer way to send a question while you speak. FASTER ANSWERS Explanations now start appearing in about a second instead of arriving all at once after a wait, and they write themselves onto the page as they come. MADE FOR IPAD Scripture now holds a proper reading measure instead of stretching to the window, so a line stays about 65 characters on any device. Plus a long list of smaller fixes: verse selection is deliberate rather than accidental, the reading plan counts from the day you started rather than January 1, and chapters no longer leave a stray progress dot behind.

What's New in 1.3 • Daily reading plan: walk through the Life Journal Daily Reading by Wayne Cordeiro — 365 days of Old Testament + Psalms + New Testament, with a calendar of your reading streak. • Dark mode: choose System, Light, or Dark in Settings → Appearance. • Bookmarks: a new page that gathers every chapter you've highlighted. • Words of Jesus in red, across every reading mode. • Bible references show up as tappable chips in the AI conversation. • Many smaller touches: a redesigned reading-mode drawer, a quieter splash screen, smoother passage scrolling, and a hands-free mode that auto-dismisses when you fall silent.
