Munro route planning has arrived. Summit members can now create personalised Munro routes based on region, preferred summits, distance and ascent. Compare route options, save maps for offline use, share routes with friends or export GPX files to compatible devices. This release also includes route-planning, map and performance improvements.

Route planning arrives in Northing Premium, starting with the Wainwrights. Plan a Wainwright route without leaving the app. Choose the summits you want, pick your start point, and Northing builds the route across the fells with distance, ascent and estimated time. Save it to your account, keep it available offline for when signal drops, and share it with whoever you are walking with. This version also includes fixes and performance improvements across syncing, the map and list progress.

Bug fix: Summits on the Ethels, Nuttalls, Welsh 3000s and Trail 100 that aren't also a Munro, Wainwright or Marilyn weren't verifying. Now fixed. Run a sync to pick up walks you've already done. Spotted by a walker who noticed Win Hill hadn't registered. Thank you.

Northing’s summit registry has been expanded and refined. This update adds support for more hill lists, including Corbetts, Grahams, Welsh 3000s, Nuttalls, Trail 100 and Ethels, plus Ireland and Northern Ireland Marilyns. Registry browsing is now clearer, with improved country and region grouping, cleaner summit names, better map filtering, and summit detail cards across the expanded lists. Sync results now show matched progress across all relevant lists, while preserving existing summit history, ascent counts, activity cards and ledger records.

The Registry has been upgraded. Browse summits by list, country and region, customise which lists appear on your Home screen, and view clearer progress across your collections. Peaks belonging to multiple lists are now grouped together, while all existing summit history and completion counts remain intact.

This version sharpens how Northing explains records and archive access. Clearer onboarding choices: connect Strava or import GPX/FIT files. Updated Full Archive paywall language. Premium is now presented more simply: Northing is free for keeping your live record; Premium is for recovering your past. Removed all free trial references from the app. Small copy and clarity improvements across subscription screens.

Your live position on the map now shows which way you're facing. A small directional arrow sits above your location dot and updates as you turn — useful for orienting yourself against nearby summits without having to start moving first. Also: smoother heading updates with proper compass calibration handling, and a polished new look for the live location indicator.

Improved subscription reliability and account status syncing for premium members.

Fixed an issue where some recently recorded Strava activities could be missed if they were uploaded to Strava after a Northing sync.
