Lock photos, videos, voice memos, and notes in a time capsule. Set a future unlock date. 100% private. 100% on-device. No account required.
Time Capsule lets you lock your most meaningful photos, videos, voice memos, notes, and files inside an encrypted capsule — then open them on a date you choose.
Pick an unlock date. Add what matters. Press and hold to seal it. When the time comes, your capsule unlocks and everything is waiting for you, exactly as you left it.
HOW IT WORKS
1. Name your capsule and choose an unlock date — one month, one year, or decades from now.
2. Add photos, videos, voice memos, written notes, or files.
3. Hold to lock. Your capsule is sealed until the date arrives.
BUILT FOR PRIVACY
Everything stays on your device. Time Capsule uses AES-256 encryption, stores nothing in the cloud, and requires no account, no login, and no sign-up. There is no tracking, no analytics, and no data collection of any kind.
WHAT YOU CAN DO
- Lock photos and videos from your camera or library
- Record voice memos directly inside a capsule
- Write letters to your future self
- Attach any file type
- Set unlock dates from one day to decades away
- Watch a live countdown to each capsule's unlock moment
- Protect your vault with Face ID or Touch ID
- Share capsules with friends and family as encrypted .ltc files
- View your full capsule history
WHO IT'S FOR
- Write a letter to yourself on New Year's and open it next December
- Save your child's first words and photos for their 18th birthday
- Preserve a friendship group's memories from a trip
- Capture a personal goal and revisit your progress in a year
- Create a graduation, wedding, or anniversary capsule
Time Capsule is not a social feed, a cloud diary, or a photo album. It is a private vault that keeps your memories sealed until you are ready to revisit them.

The app is nice looking but the problem is it costs $20 to actually use. Which is definitely a bummer because I am in love with the idea of this app. Also for anyone who cares i’m pretty sure this app was 99% vibes coded, which doesn’t make it bad in any way, just something that you could probably make yourself, with enough credits.
Developer Response
Thanks for taking the time to write this — especially because it sounds like you genuinely like the idea behind Time Capsule. I completely understand the frustration around the $20 price, and pricing is something we’re continuing to evaluate as the app grows. On the “vibe coded” point, AI tools have been part of the development process, but Time Capsule has also taken a significant amount of hands-on work across the design, storage experience, reliability, privacy, testing, and all of the small details that make the app feel simple to use. The goal isn’t just to build something that can be recreated technically — it’s to make preserving important memories feel effortless and worth coming back to for years.Really appreciate the thoughtful criticism. Feedback like this genuinely helps shape where we take the app next.
Must download!!!

My friends and I were about to get a physical time capsule for graduation since all of the online apps seemed terrible and something that wasn’t fun but when I found this app, it totally changed everything. All of my high school graduation friends added our favorite memories, photos, videos from our high school graduation and now we’re waiting for our reunion to open. It can’t tell you how great this app was everything from the design to the functionality highly recommend!!
A memory app that actually is meaningful

I did not expect to love this as much as I do. The concept is simple. You lock photos, videos, voice memos, or notes and open them on a future date. But the experience makes it feel special. The hold to seal feature is such a small detail, yet it makes the moment feel real and emotional. What really stands out is the privacy. Everything stays on your device. No account. No cloud. No tracking. That alone makes it feel different from almost every other app.I made one capsule for myself in five years and one for my best friend. Now I am genuinely excited for the day they unlock.Clean design. Smooth animations. Thoughtfully built. This is one of those apps you actually keep.
can finally share with others

I tried other time capsule apps and for some reason only this one had the capability to share my capsule with others
