What’s new in 1.6 • Daily Prayer: a new Prayers tab with Wudase Mariam for every day of the week and the Daily Prayers, in Amharic or English, in the red and black of the prayer book. It follows Holy Week and has an optional daily reminder. • Fast reminders your way: choose which fasts you follow, how early to be reminded (up to two weeks ahead) and at what time. • Fasting Season widget: the fast you are keeping, the days left and every fast ahead on your Home Screen and Lock Screen. • One language at a time: every screen, notification, widget and Siri answer is fully in Amharic or fully in English. • A Text Size setting and a choice of Amharic fonts. • A redesigned Ethiopian ⇄ Gregorian switch on the calendar. • More accurate fast dates: Advent begins on Hidar 15, the Assumption fast ends on Nehase 15, Christmas Eve follows the Year of John, and there is no Wednesday or Friday fast in the fifty days after Fasika. • Apple Watch: reminders now arrive once, in your language, from your iPhone. • Many refinements to the Today screen, Settings and dates in both languages.

In this major update, we are excited to bring you deep system integrations and powerful new tools for your spiritual journey: - Full Amharic Language Support: Experience the entire app in Amharic! We've meticulously localized every screen with beautiful traditional fonts (Ethiopic Le Tewahedo). You can toggle between English and Amharic anytime in the Settings. - Digital Fasting & Focus Mode: Disconnect from distractions and connect with your faith. Use our new Digital Fasting feature (integrated with iOS Screen Time) to automatically block distracting apps and websites during fasting periods or scheduled times. - Apple Intelligence & Siri: Fully integrated with iOS 27! You can now use Siri to ask for today's readings, check fasting rules, and manage your focus mode without even opening the app. - Enhanced Notifications: Never miss a saint's day or fasting period with our newly redesigned rich notifications. Tap a notification to see detailed reflections and histories. - Beautiful New Themes: The UI has been polished with improved typography and theme colors that dynamically adapt to the liturgical season.

Minor bug fixes.

Welcome to our biggest spiritual update yet! In version 1.3, we are transforming the EOTC Calendar from a reference tool into an active companion for your spiritual journey. • Introducing Digital Fasting: Take control of your attention. Using native Apple Screen Time integration, you can now block distracting apps (like social media) for configured periods (7 to 365 days). Choose between "Strict" fasting or "Paced" fasting with dedicated break windows. • Semon-e-Himamat (Holy Week) Immersion: As Passion Week approaches, the app will automatically shift into a "Somber State." Experience a muted, reverent interface featuring daily Gospel readings, prostration (Sigdet) guides, and specialized Amharic greetings. • The Hourly Pulse: During Holy Week, opt into Liturgical Hour notifications (1st, 3rd, 6th, 9th, and 11th hours) prompting you to pause and pray exactly when the Church prays. • The Ship of Repentance: When you activate Digital Fasting during Holy Week, standard app-block shields are replaced with profound, custom spiritual quotes from Church Fathers to guide your focus back to Christ. • Enhanced Church Finder: Locating a nearby parish is now smoother, featuring an elegant loading experience, distance calculations, and the ability to instantly jump into Apple Maps or Google Maps for directions. • Share Your Journey: Share your fasting streaks and daily milestones beautifully with a custom-generated image containing a discreet QR code to invite friends and family.

• Notifications completely rebuilt — morning and evening reminders now fire reliably after enabling them • Rich daily spiritual messages for each fasting season: Great Lent, Fast of Nineveh, Apostles' Fast, Advent, Assumption Fast, and weekly Wednesday & Friday fasts • Monthly feast day reminders for Michael, Mary, Gabriel, Holy Trinity, St. George, and more • Apple Watch now shows fasting day notifications independently • Fixed display issue when rotating the phone

Widget Time Fix - Widgets now correctly display Addis Ababa time instead of your local time Enhanced Apple Watch App - Ethiopian year now displayed alongside the Amharic month - "Addis Ababa" label clearly indicates the timezone - Fasting status badge shows the active fast name on your wrist Fasting Day Notifications - New Wednesday & Friday fasting reminders at 7 AM - Daily notifications during major fasting periods (Great Lent, Nineveh, Advent, Apostles', Assumption) - Encouraging spiritual messages to start your fasting day mindfully
