Jar of Stars is a simple, joyful way to encourage good habits in your kids. Tap to award stars for things like brushing teeth, tidying up, or being kind — then watch your child's jar fill up as they work toward rewards they actually care about.
I built this as a parent who wanted something my kids would get excited about. When stars land in the jar, they burst with animation and sound — it turns a small moment of praise into a little celebration. Kids want to come back to it, and that's the whole point.
Here's how it works:
- Tap your child's card and pick an action. Stars burst into their jar with a satisfying animation and sound effect. That's it. Two taps to reward good behavior, and kids love watching it happen.
- Set up custom actions for your family. "Practiced piano" might be worth three stars, while "Put shoes away" earns one. You decide what matters.
- Create milestone rewards at different tiers — a small treat at 10 stars, a bigger one at 25, a grand prize at 50. Kids can see their progress and stay motivated. When they hit a milestone, the whole screen celebrates.
- Everything syncs across your family's devices through iCloud. Award a star on your phone at the park, and your partner sees it on the iPad at home. No account to create, no login, no passwords.
- Works completely offline. No internet? No problem. Stars sync up when you're back online.
The free version lets you track one child with a handful of actions and one active reward. That's plenty to get started and see if it clicks for your family.
