Marmot Vox: AI Meeting Notes
Meetings that move forward
Free · In‑App Purchases
Leave your next meeting with a clear next step. Record on iPhone or Apple Watch, then turn the conversation into a transcript, summary and action items.
Keep the conversation. Find the next step.
Marmot Vox brings recordings, transcripts, summaries, people and projects into one workspace. Capture a meeting, interview, lecture or voice note, then return to what was said and what needs doing.
Start from the red Record button on Home, or follow guided paths for a meeting, a recording you already have, or reviewing your work.
RECORD AND READ
Record audio, pause and resume, bookmark moments, or import audio and video. Follow time-stamped transcripts alongside playback, adjust speed and text size, and search your library. Long transcripts use a focused reading layout with a visible Follow control.
MAKE YOUR NOTES USEFUL
Generate summaries, decisions, questions and action items. Ask Marmot about a recording or your connected work. Explore mind maps, review supporting transcript passages, and export or share your work. AI output can contain mistakes; check important details against the recording.
Correct names and wording without regenerating the whole transcript or summary, and review proposed factual corrections before applying them. Edit titles, manage remembered vocabulary, and preview the sections you export.
CONNECT PROJECTS AND PEOPLE
Group recordings by project, build project briefs, and keep related conversations together. Name speakers, review conversation history and track follow-ups. Today brings commitments together with selection, completion and snooze actions. Needs review lets you keep or dismiss work left untouched for 30 days without deleting it.
INTERPRET AND MEETING BOT
Interpret offers Standard, Face to Face, Subtitles and AI Assistant modes, with original wording, translations and reply suggestions. Meeting Bot can join supported online meetings, with calendar scheduling, meeting history and optional live notes. Bot use requires a connected marmotvox.com account and consent before dispatch.
CHOOSE HOW YOUR AUDIO IS PROCESSED
On-device transcription is available on supported hardware with the required model. Cloud transcription and AI features need internet access and use your plan allowance. Keep Audio Private prevents cloud audio transcription. Meeting Bot recording uses Recall.ai in the cloud; optional live notes use Recall.ai and OpenAI. Review the processing choices before starting. Sync your library through iCloud and use available recording-lock controls.
MADE FOR YOUR APPLE DEVICES
Native iPhone and iPad layouts, an Apple Watch companion, supported widgets and Live Activities, and Siri/Shortcuts integration. Use a neutral charcoal dark appearance, or customize the light accent, text size and OLED mode.
FREE AND PRO
Free includes unlimited recording and playback, unlimited supported on-device transcription, 30 cloud transcription minutes and 30 AI actions per month. Existing users may retain a legacy allowance during their current billing month.
Pro includes 2,400 transcription minutes, 500 AI actions and 300 Meeting Bot minutes per month, plus premium AI tools. New bot accounts receive a one-meeting trial of up to 60 minutes. Annual subscribers receive an additional 60 transcription minutes and 50 AI actions each month.

What's new in 4.0
• Import recordings from Voice Memos, Files or any app: the original recording date is kept, you can file them into a project, and every file reports its result.
• Calendar and Reminders, done properly: review an event before saving it, send accepted follow-ups to Reminders with the person and due date, and finishing one in Reminders finishes it here too. Every exported item links back to its recording.
• The calendar context sheet suggests the meeting that overlaps your recording and can link its attendees as People.
• New "Import audio into Marmot Vox" Shortcut. Apple Watch recordings get the same project and processing choices as imports.
• Monthly Usage, explained: what counts as an AI action, what's unlimited on Pro, and what Marmot runs in the background. Ask Marmot is unlimited on Pro. Usage is now counted across all your devices.
• Smarter on-device transcription: a model that runs slowly on your phone no longer wins over the cloud or Apple's on-device engine.
• Daily recap: pick any day or browse by month. Library groups by day and marks your latest recording. iCloud sync feedback no longer moves the list.
• Many small fixes: correct reminder times in Calendar, duplicate controls removed, one name per concept throughout.
4.0 Oct 5
Improved Meeting Bot setup and scheduling, with clearer transcription guidance and better meeting-link validation.
3.9 Oct 1
Updated cloud AI for recording and project summaries, Meeting Coach, and your AI assistant.
3.8 Sep 28
New in Marmot Vox 3.7:
• Record for a set time: choose hours and minutes, see the countdown, and automatically stop and save. Pausing also pauses the countdown.
• Cancel a take more easily with a visible trash button and a Discard recording option beside Save and Keep Recording.
• Manage recordings awaiting AI with selection, filters, separate transcription and summary actions, and queue controls. Existing transcripts are preserved when generating missing summaries.
• A clearer recording layout and a redesigned Usage screen put controls and remaining balances within easy reach.
• Fixes for on-device model preparation and automatic transcription, plus reduced background work on Home.
• Apple Watch improvements: recording controls fit smaller screens, pauses are handled more safely, transfers retry more reliably, and save confirmations reflect the recording’s actual sync status.
• More reliable project summaries and retries for long recordings.
• Clearer Cloud/on-device guidance. Tiny is retired from new model choices, and large-model preparation warnings are more explicit.
• Easier access to Projects and speaker naming in Meeting Coach, plus improved recording menus and narrow iPad layouts.
3.7 Sep 28
Built for people who see the same people again.
• Give someone a role that applies to one project only — a colleague on one, a patient on another — instead of one label everywhere.
• Keep a person's recordings out of cloud AI without putting the whole app in private mode.
• Record consent per conversation, with who, when and how — and withdraw it without erasing the record.
• Visit briefings now show what changed since the previous visit, and export as a PDF instead of only copying as text.
• Filter People by relationship, so "who are my patients" is one tap.
Also in this release
• Voice ID is back on every profile instead of hidden behind a chevron, and is offered as soon as you add someone.
• Linking a recording no longer lists the same project or person several times.
• Fixed screens where content could sit under the floating marmot.
3.6 Sep 23
New in Marmot Vox 3.5:
• Tell Marmot who you are: preferred name, profession or custom role, specialty, organization and goals. New summaries, answers and follow-up drafts can reflect your work. Turn personalization off or clear it whenever you want.
• People and Project summaries now use your AI profile too, with better coverage of long histories, recent conversations and closing plans. Incomplete transcripts are identified, and a failed refresh keeps the previous summary.
• Patient visit preparation keeps shared recordings as source context. Add a patient-specific note before including their summary or plans in a briefing. Corrected patient links stop stale overviews from being reused by AI.
• Locked or unavailable recordings are excluded from People and Project summary requests.
• Includes title, wording and speaker corrections, clearer Spanish labels, improved automatic-transcription handling and visible iCloud check results.
• The updated What’s New screen highlights your AI profile and patient preparation, with Continue always available.
3.5 Sep 21
New in Marmot Vox 3.4:
• Edit recording titles and correct names or wording without regenerating the whole transcript or summary. Review proposed factual corrections before applying them.
• Review source passages, uncertain wording and stale results from the recording workspace.
• Keep follow-ups connected across recordings, people and projects. Prepare recurring visits from selected linked notes and preview exports before sharing.
• Improved recovery of interrupted recordings, clearer saving status and confirmation before Stop & Save.
• Automatic transcription follows each recording's processing choice and shows when work is queued.
• Clearer local-model preparation and retry feedback, with protection against outdated loading errors.
• Clearer Watch delivery, audio availability and sync status.
3.4 Sep 21
On-device transcription is far more reliable.
• Fixed a fault where preparing the offline model could hang forever, leaving every later attempt to fail instantly.
• Marmot Vox no longer downloads a model your device doesn't have the memory to run, and tells you which one to pick instead.
• Model sizes are now accurate everywhere. Large Turbo is 3.2 GB, not the 800 MB previously shown.
• Large models no longer download over cellular. There's a Wi-Fi-only setting, and short recordings stop waiting on a model that isn't ready.
Also in this release
• Declining AI consent is no longer permanent — you can turn it back on in Settings.
• Translated transcripts keep their timeline instead of collapsing into a block of text.
• A clearer Home screen, with every feature still where it was.
• Redesigned Lock Screen widget.
• The Watch stops counting a recording that already ended, and you can mute its notification sounds.
• Fixed a Pro subscription showing as Free after a brief loss of connection.
• New: Settings › Troubleshooting › Check subscription status.
3.3 Sep 18
New in Marmot Vox 3.2:
• Add photos, screenshots and documents to a recording so the transcript keeps the context discussed in the conversation.
• A more capable People workspace and Person Agent help organize linked recordings, follow-ups and relationship context.
• Richer Lock Screen recording controls keep status and important actions visible.
• Summaries preserve completed sections and provide clearer recovery when an AI step needs another attempt.
• iCloud Sync now explains upload and download health, creates redacted diagnostic reports and offers a verified recovery path for a stalled private library.
• Faster Home loading, clearer transcript recovery and reliability improvements across iPhone, iPad and Mac.
3.2 Sep 15
Build 702 expands People into a practical relationship workspace. Person Agent now answers from linked recordings, projects, profile details and follow-ups, preserves the useful answer when suggesting actions, and keeps every action reviewable. Recording project linking now shows the complete searchable project list. It also includes build 701’s summary reliability fixes.
3.1 Sep 11
WHAT'S WAITING FOR YOU — HONESTLY
Home now reports only what's real: commitments you actually accepted, projects that truly went quiet, and an Ask Marmot count you can drive to zero.
ONE OF EVERYTHING
Duplicate "Unknown" people and duplicate "Unclassified" buckets created across your devices now merge automatically — history intact.
SUMMARIES THAT ADMIT THEIR AGE
Project summaries show when they were built, and warn when new recordings landed after — one tap to refresh. Transcripts that end before the audio does say so too.
MAC POLISH
The bottom bar shows transport only while audio plays, and cloud transcription explains why there's no live preview.
Plus: play a voice clip before naming a speaker, batch-link the same voice across recordings, merge duplicate people, and file unclassified recordings with one tap.
3.0 Sep 2
EASIER TO READ, EVERYWHERE
Secondary text across the whole app is brighter and warmer — captions, timestamps and details now pass accessibility contrast on every screen, in light and dark.
PUT A NAME TO A VOICE
When Marmot isn't sure who spoke, you can now PLAY an 8-second clip of that voice before naming them. Named someone? If the same name appears in other recordings, link them all with one tap.
CLEAR YOUR AI BACKLOG
"Recordings awaiting AI" now opens a queue — process them all with one tap and watch each transcript and summary land, with clear reasons and retry if anything fails.
SMARTER FILING
Recordings that didn't match a project now get a suggestion — "Looks like it belongs in Atlas" — you accept or dismiss. Duplicate people ("alex" and "Alex Chen") get a one-tap Merge that keeps all their history.
HONEST TRANSCRIPTS
If a transcript ends well before the audio does, Marmot says so and offers a one-tap re-transcribe — before you find out by listening.
Project recommendations now cite the recording they came from — tap through to the source.
2.9 Sep 1
PRIVATE BY DEFAULT — AND FREE
Transcription now runs on your device for everyone. Your audio stays with you, works offline, and never counts against a quota. Every month you also get 30 minutes of our most accurate cloud transcription — and Pro makes it unlimited, in 60+ languages, along with the meeting notetaker.
"PRIVATE THIS TIME"
A new toggle right on the recorder keeps a single recording on-device — for the conversations that should never leave your phone.
THE MEETING NOTETAKER ARRIVES BY ITSELF
When a meeting invite lands in your calendar, Marmot Vox offers to send the notetaker — one tap from the notification, even from your lock screen. Never automatic, always visible in the call.
KNOW WHO SAID WHAT
People collects what each person said and promised across every conversation. Name a voice once; Marmot Vox remembers.
SOLID TO THE CORE
Deleted recordings stay deleted on every device. Recordings sync reliably through iCloud with honest status when they're still on the way. The Summary crash is fixed, commitments no longer double up, and dozens of small lies in counts, meters and labels have been corrected.
2.8 Aug 30

NEW: Commitments — everything you owe people, grouped by person, in the Hub. Complete or dismiss with a tap, and see who you're behind with at a glance.
NEW: Visual Summary (Pro) — your recording as an interactive map: every topic, decision, and to-do in one picture.
FIXED: long recordings no longer produce cut-off transcripts with the on-device engine.
Live Interpretation: see your words as you speak, reliable auto-stop even in noisy rooms, and Privacy Mode is now fully honored.
Plus a cleaner lock-screen recording widget and many smaller fixes.
2.7 Aug 11
This update fixes two issues our recorders told us about:
• Transcription could occasionally skip the middle of a recording, especially in languages other than English. We've made transcription keep more of your speech — and you can now re-transcribe any recording in a specific language (long-press "Re-transcribe").
• Recording no longer stops the instant your battery is low. You'll get a clear choice to record anyway, or capture it on your Apple Watch instead.
This update also brings a warmer, clearer look:
• A refreshed color palette across the app, built around our terracotta brand tone.
• Sections on Home each have their own color again, so you can spot what you need at a glance.
• More consistent depth and contrast on cards, bars and buttons.
Thanks for the reports — keep them coming.
2.6 Jul 26
Marmot Vox 2.5 — your notetaker, everywhere.
• Next-meeting widget: see your upcoming call and send the notetaker in one tap
• Record from Control Center; pause and resume right from the widget
• Siri: ask Marmot anything about your notes, or hear your latest summary
• Search that jumps: tap a transcript match to play that exact moment, plus results similar by meaning
• Player chapters and automatic silence skipping
• Relationship Health on every person's page
• Meeting types (sales, standup, 1:1, interview…) for sharper summaries
• iPad: side-by-side Library with full detail pane
Plus a guided bot setup flow, richer live-meeting catch-up, and many fixes.
2.5 Jul 22
Smarter meetings — now with Google Meet:
• Google Meet support — send the notetaker to Meet calls, alongside Teams, Zoom & Webex.
• Real names on your notes — transcripts and summaries show who said what.
• Catch Me Up — running late? Get an instant recap of everything you missed.
• Calendar auto-join — let the notetaker join your scheduled meetings automatically.
• A refreshed Lock Screen for live recordings.
Plus polish and fixes throughout. Thanks for using Marmot Vox!
2.4 Jul 19
• Meeting Bot: send an AI notetaker into your Teams, Zoom, and Webex calls — it joins, records, and drops the transcript, summary, and action items straight into your Library. No laptop needed.
• Live meeting view: follow rolling topics, suggested questions, and a running summary while the notetaker is in your call.
• Calendar smarts: MarmotVox spots your upcoming online meetings and offers a one-tap notetaker.

• Faster, more private on-device transcription — plus lots of fixes and polish.
2.3 Jul 15
APPLE WATCH IS HERE
Record straight from your wrist — no iPhone needed, even out of range.
• Recordings save on the Watch and sync to your iPhone automatically, where they're transcribed and summarized like any other
• Nothing gets lost: recordings wait safely on the Watch until your iPhone confirms they arrived
• New watch-face complication shows when recordings are waiting to sync
• Already recording on your iPhone? Pause, resume, stop, and bookmark it from the Watch
Meet Maimort — and a faster, more dependable MarmotVox.
Your AI assistant now has one name everywhere you ask: Maimort. Same intelligence, finally consistent — ask Maimort about a single recording, a whole project, or everything at once.
FASTER, ESPECIALLY WITH A BIG LIBRARY
Home, Library, and search now do their heavy lifting off the main thread. Launching and scrolling stay smooth no matter how many recordings you've built up.
ROCK-SOLID RECORDING
Record several times in a row without a hitch. And if your microphone — or a connected Bluetooth device — isn't actually picking up sound, MarmotVox now warns you on the spot, so a dead mic can never leave you with a silent recording.
POLISHED THROUGHOUT
• Transcripts now clearly flag any section that couldn't be captured, instead of quietly leaving it out
• PDF export can no longer get stuck
• Cleaner deletes, tidier internals, and dozens of refinements under the hood
A quality release, top to bottom. Thanks for using MarmotVox — keep telling us what would make the next one even better.
2.2 Jul 12
