Block Apps. Unlock by chanting.
JapaLock is a mindful app blocker that encourages you to pause and chant before using distracting apps.
If you often open social media or other apps automatically, JapaLock introduces a pause before access, helping you regain control and use your phone more intentionally.
Using Apple’s Screen Time APIs, JapaLock allows you to block selected apps and require a short mindful action before unlocking them.
How it works
Select apps you want to limit
When you open a blocked app, JapaLock interrupts access
Complete a short mindful chanting activity
Unlock the apps
This simple pause helps you stop unconscious usage and make more intentional decisions.
Built for focus and awareness
Unlike typical app blockers or timers, JapaLock combines app blocking with mindfulness. The goal is not restriction, but awareness, helping you choose how you spend your time.
Use JapaLock to:
Block distracting apps
Build a daily chanting habit
Reduce screen time
Break mindless social media usage
Improve focus and clarity
Use your phone more intentionally
Mindful approach
JapaLock is inspired by mindfulness and chanting practices. The brief chanting step creates a moment of awareness before accessing distracting apps.
