What's New in 2.0 • tmux in every tab: each tab gets its own tmux session. A new tab opens a session no other tab is showing, asks which one when several are free, and only creates a new session when all of them are open. Tab titles follow the session. • Restore Windows: connecting again reopens the tabs you had, each on its tmux session. On by default; turn it off in Settings → Terminal. • Manage tmux from the session menu: see, switch, create, rename and close sessions. • Sessions survive a dropped connection: Bracket reconnects in place and brings back your panes and tmux sessions. • Startup commands can be multi-line, and run on every connect or only for new sessions. • Switch to Key Login: move a password server to SSH key login in a few taps. Your password stays as a fallback for your other devices, and each device can add its own key. • If a server refuses your key, Bracket asks for the password instead of failing. • Export a key report (CSV or JSON) of this device's keys and the connections that use them, for access reviews. Private keys and passwords are never included. • Home and End keys in the keyboard bar. • Settings shared with the Mac app now stay in sync. • A simpler iPhone terminal menu, with Disconnect always in reach. • ⌘D splits side by side and ⇧⌘D splits top and bottom, as in iTerm2 and Terminal. • A cleaner start: Bracket's shell setup no longer flashes on screen. • Fixed a blank screen after running clear, and the cursor sitting a line below the text in tmux.

Multiple windows — open several shells on one connection and switch between them from a tab strip under the title bar. Rename or close a window from its tab. With a hardware keyboard, ⌘T opens a window, ⌘⇧] and ⌘⇧[ cycle through them, and ⌘1–⌘9 jump straight to one. In tmux mode the window commands are handed to tmux. Split panes — typing exit in one pane now closes just that pane instead of dropping the whole connection. VNC — connect to a Mac's Screen Sharing from the app. Opens as a normal session tab with an on-screen keyboard, trackpad-style pointer, and paste. The session bar warns "Not encrypted" because ARD only protects the password, not the screen or keystrokes. iCloud sync fixes — a second device would never import your connections, and worse, could wipe the first device's list while saying it synced. Also, one connection the app didn't recognise used to break the entire import silently. Both fixed. Network scanner — scan your LAN for SSH servers and tap a result to create a connection, no typing the address. Terminal — added a shift key to the keyboard bar (works with ctrl/opt, and fixes ctrl/opt+arrow along the way), and fixed garbled Powerline glyphs in tmux on older servers.

Bracket now includes a built-in AI assistant that can help you manage your servers directly from your terminal. Ask it to run commands, troubleshoot issues, install packages, or configure services — the AI reads your terminal output, understands context, and executes commands on your behalf with your approval. It works alongside your SSH sessions so you never have to leave the app. Whether you're a seasoned sysadmin or just getting started with Linux, the AI assistant acts as a knowledgeable co-pilot right inside your terminal. Also new in this release: a redesigned keyboard accessory bar with grouped keys, CTRL modifier support for on-screen keyboard, paste and colon keys, and larger touch targets for easier use.
