Easier to set up, quicker to sort. • Trips: "To sort" replaces Inbox. Each trip leads with its route, like "Home to Work", and each day shows its miles. • Swipe to sort, with Undo. Labels show where a trip came from, and Trips tells you if we may have missed a drive. • More: grouped and easier to scan, with a live fact on each row, like your MOT date or the cheapest fuel near you. Plus Road alerts, and Chargers near you for electric cars. • New drivers get a short setup that checks recording works. Replay it from More > Help > Take the tour. • Pay Scottish income tax? Tax estimates can now use the Scottish bands. • Help: 98 checked answers, with search. • Saved places: name a suggested place yourself. • Company car drivers no longer see claim figures that don't apply to them. • Fewer trips arrive late or go missing, and a trip can no longer be saved with no route, end or miles.

Automatic trips, your way - An Automatic trips switch on the home screen. Turn it off and the app stops recording drives on its own; shifts and Start Trip still record. - Trips recorded during a shift are saved as Business. Battery - Automatic tracking sleeps while recording is paused and while a shift or Start Trip is running, and signing out always stops it. Fixes - A drive is no longer saved twice when a shift or Start Trip recorded it too. - One trip or place that can't be uploaded no longer holds up every trip behind it. - Journeys to check older than 14 days drop off the list, and adding one asks when you really set off. - "Missing a trip you made?" asks for your real set-off time. - Trip reminders open your Inbox, where the trips to sort are. - A Start Trip that got stuck after the app closed now recovers. - After an App Store update, the app moves straight to the latest version the first time you open it. - Saving while offline says "No connection, try again". - Signing in again no longer takes you back through the setup screens.

Lock-screen buttons work straight away - Tapping Business or Personal on the lock-screen card after a trip now applies at once and the card clears, instead of waiting until you next open the app. - Tapping Not Driving during a detected drive now stops the recording there and then. Fewer wrong trips, fewer missed ones - A walk no longer turns into a trip. The app reads your phone's motion sensor, which can tell being carried on foot from being driven. - Short real drives that were being left out of your mileage now count. - A drive at clear driving speed starts recording even when the GPS signal is weak. - Pausing tracking now ends on time, and recording picks up again by itself. - A ride you dismissed as not yours is no longer offered back as a missed journey. Easier to find - Journeys to check and "Missing a trip you made?" now sit at the top of Trips. - Every saved place can be picked as the start or end of a trip, not just the first six.

Your drive stays on the lock screen - The Live Activity and Dynamic Island now stay up for the whole of a detected drive, with the distance ticking over as you go. Previously it could appear and then vanish part-way through, or sit at zero miles. - It also works after a restart or a force-quit, without opening the app first. - Turning the Live Activity off in Settings now turns off all of it, including the one that starts when a drive is detected. CarPlay - The MileClear tile on the CarPlay dashboard shows the MileClear mark, the distance so far and what the drive is doing, each reading replacing the last. Regular routes sort themselves - A route you have classified the same way three or more times now arrives already classified, marked "auto" with an Undo. Undo it and that route goes back to being suggested rather than sorted. A route you have sorted both ways is never sorted for you. - Fewer prompts: a sorted trip gets a plain "Trip recorded" notification with no buttons, and the "Trips to classify" reminder comes at most weekly. Trips - The trip list loads in well under a second. It used to take two to three. - Every trip card carries a map of the route. - If recording began part-way through a drive, the app says so and offers to extend the trip back to where you set off. - Stopped mid-shift? When a trip ends at a drop or a wait, "Still on a job" keeps the next leg as part of the same trip. - A stop part-way through a journey no longer inflates the miles of the drives either side of it. Saved places - With ten or more trips and fewer than two saved places, the app offers once to save your two most-visited places by name. Trips to and from saved places start and end cleanly. Also - A trip edited after being deleted elsewhere no longer leaves a stuck sync warning. - Allowing notifications during onboarding now registers the phone for reminders straight away. If a drive ever goes missing, report it from the app (Profile > Report a missing trip). The diagnostic that comes with it is what these fixes were built from.

Stops between drives are now separate trips - Drive somewhere, park for ten minutes, drive on: you get two trips, each ending where you actually stopped. Previously a visit could weld both drives into one long journey. This is the main change in 1.3.9 and it came straight from drivers' reports. - A poor-signal stop is handled the same way. The app now asks whether the car had stopped before the phone went quiet, not how far it had moved by the time it woke up. - Tunnels and long blackspots at speed stay one trip. Classify from the Dynamic Island - When you park, Business and Personal are right there on the lock screen. Tap one and the trip is done before you have opened the app. Trips start where you left from - Leaving home or any saved place, the trip now starts there rather than a few hundred metres down the road. You can also correct where a trip started. Short drives - A hop too short to record now says so on the lock screen instead of vanishing. Slightly longer short drives are offered back to you under Missed Journeys, so nothing quietly disappears. The "Not driving" button - Tapping Not driving now pauses detection until the car parks, not for a fixed twenty minutes that could swallow your next journey. Places you stop at often - MileClear notices the places you keep stopping at and offers to save them, so trips there start and end cleanly. A menu you can actually scroll - The menu is regrouped into Tracking, Tax, Money, Insights and More, and it scrolls. Quick links to Tax, Invoices, Expenses and Insights on the dashboard, and an Open Self Assessment button on the HMRC card. Also - The Live Activity timer counts from when the drive started. If a drive ever goes missing, report it from the app (Profile > Report a missing trip). The diagnostic that comes with it is what these fixes were built from.

Another reliability release. Nine fixes, and every one of them started with a driver telling us a drive had gone wrong. Short hops are no longer dropped from a busy day. On a day of several stops, a leg of under half a mile could produce so few GPS points that MileClear treated it as stray data and threw it away, while keeping the longer legs either side of it. Short legs are now judged on the distance they actually covered, so a real journey survives however few points it produced. A journey that starts recording late no longer loses its opening miles. If your phone shut MileClear down as you set off, recording could pick up well into the drive, and because the trip still showed the right start place and the right start time, the missing miles were invisible. MileClear now fills that gap with the real road distance between where you set off and where recording began, and says on the trip that it has done so. A merged journey keeps its whole route. When one drive was joined onto the one before it, the mileage was added but the second half of the route was not stored, so the map drew only part of the journey and splitting it at a stop could not find the stop. The full route now comes across with it. An unfinished Start Trip is recovered instead of discarded. If you tapped Start Trip and your phone closed the app before you finished, the recorded route was eventually deleted. It now becomes a trip, split at the stops along the way. You decide when a stop ends a journey. In Settings, then Tracking, choose anything from 5 minutes to an hour. Long waits at a depot or a site no longer split one job into several trips, and sitting in traffic still keeps the journey whole. Also in this build: a brief server problem can no longer cost you an earning, fuel entry or shift you have just saved; reporting a missing trip now checks whether it is still saving first and shows it to you if it appears; and signing in as someone else on a shared phone starts clean. If a drive ever does go missing, report it from the Trips tab under "Missing a trip you made?". The diagnostic that comes with it is exactly what we build these fixes from, and it goes straight to the person writing the code.

A reliability release, and both big fixes came straight from driver reports this week. We found them in the diagnostics attached to missing-trip reports and got them fixed the same day. Multi-stop days can no longer be lost. If your phone kept MileClear asleep while you were doing a string of stops, your journeys would queue up on the phone waiting to turn into trips. A bug could leave most of that queue stuck, and the next morning's drive would clear it. Now the queue works through in full the moment the app wakes up. A restart finishes the job if your phone interrupts it, and a new drive rescues any waiting journeys instead of throwing them away. Automatic detection can no longer get stuck after Start Trip. In rare cases a trip started from the map could leave a tracking flag behind when it saved, and automatic drive detection would just quietly stop working. The flag now gets released on every save, and if one does get stuck the app clears it itself within a few hours instead of staying silent. Making Tax Digital is back in beta. The app sends the extra device information HMRC needs for Making Tax Digital, rebuilt so it works safely across every app version. If a drive ever goes missing, report it from the app under Profile > Report a missing trip. The diagnostic that comes with it is exactly what we built these fixes from, and it goes straight to the person writing the code.

Multi-stop drivers, this one is for you. Split a trip into the trips it really was (new) - Quick delivery drops can end up recorded as one long trip. Open any tracked trip, tap "Split into multiple trips", and MileClear shows every stop it detected along the route. Tick the real stops, tap once, and your journey becomes separate trips - each keeping its classification, each editable on its own, with your total mileage unchanged. - Came straight from a driver's report. If the suggested stops ever look wrong, tell us - real examples make it sharper. Your tax estimate now counts your expenses - The dashboard's estimated tax figure now subtracts your allowable expenses (equipment, fares, and so on) as well as your mileage, matching the Self Assessment section. If you log expenses, the number you see is now closer to what you would really owe. Motor costs stay out - your mileage rate already covers them. Manual trips now show the real route - Trips you add by hand now draw the actual road route on the map instead of a straight dashed line. Making Tax Digital (beta) - HMRC calculation screens now link to your HMRC Personal Tax Account on GOV.UK, and the app sends the extra device information HMRC requires. Reliability - Fixes a rare issue where the app could fail to open after an update. If that caught you in mid July, this build puts it permanently to rest. As always, your tax figures and HMRC calculations are correct on every build, and any missed trip can be added by hand and counts identically.

GET PAID - professional invoicing for the self-employed: • Save your clients, build invoices with line items and optional VAT • Generate a branded PDF with your own logo and colours • Email invoices to clients without leaving the app (Pro) • Auto-chase late payments: polite scheduled reminders with the UK late-payment wording handled. You get a heads-up before anything sends, and payment stops the sequence instantly (Pro) ALSO IN THIS RELEASE: • New Public Transport expense category (train, tube, bus fares) • New notification controls - fuel price alerts and the morning briefing can now be switched off • Smoother live tracking on long drives • HMRC (Making Tax Digital) screens clearly marked as beta • Add notes to any trip • Fewer surprise sign-outs, invite codes carry through to sign-up, and a fresh app icon

Covers everything since 1.3.1 (build 75) reached the App Store, since 1.3.2 was TestFlight-only. Around 1,500 characters. This release brings everything since our last App Store update, tested and polished. Lock your data (new) - You can now keep your mileage and tax records behind Face ID, Touch ID, or your passcode. Turn it on in Settings > Security. The lock only covers the screen - your trips keep recording in the background either way, so you never lose a drive. Catch the drives that slipped through (new) - MileClear now spots gaps, where one trip ended in one place and the next began somewhere else with nothing in between, and offers to add the missing journey for you, pre-filled, in a single tap. Light on your battery (new) - A new battery view shows your live level and how tracking eases off while you are parked. An optional battery saver gently reduces background checks when your battery is low and unplugged. It will never drop a trip. Your trips stay correct everywhere - Classify a trip on the web dashboard, by an auto-classify rule, or on another device, and the app now updates to match, instead of showing it as unclassified forever. - An under-the-hood fix means a drive recorded with the phone locked is never quietly dropped when it saves. Accurate Clean Air Zone charges - Zone maps are now the official boundaries for every zone that can charge a car or van: London ULEZ, Birmingham, Bristol, Bath, Bradford, Sheffield, and Newcastle and Gateshead. You always confirm before any charge is logged. As always, your tax figures and HMRC calculations are correct on every build, and any missed trip can be added by hand and counts identically.

What's New (1.3.1) This update is about seeing your trips happen and trusting what you see. Automatic Live Activity: when MileClear detects you driving, your trip shows up on your Lock Screen and Dynamic Island straightaway, even with the app closed and your phone in your pocket. No tap needed. Always-on trip status: the dashboard shows exactly what's happening, from "Saving trip..." to "Trip saved · 12.4 mi · Synced". Save a trip offline and it waits, then syncs when you're back online. Nothing disappears in silence. More reliable capture: we fixed a bug where a trip could be wrongly dropped if your phone sat untouched for hours after a drive, plus several other reliability fixes reported by drivers. Invite a friend, you both win: referrals are now two-sided. You and your friend each get a free month of Pro when they record their first trip. Find it in Profile → Invite friends. Clearer messages: when something needs your attention, the app now says plainly what happened and what to do. Your mileage and HMRC figures stay accurate on every version, and you can always add a trip by hand.

This is our biggest reliability release yet. The whole focus: capture every mile automatically, so your tax return looks after itself. More reliable automatic tracking - Rebuilt trip detection that catches more of your drives on its own, including the short ones (the quick shop run, the school drop) that used to slip through. - A stop partway through no longer splits a journey in two. Pull over for a coffee, carry on, and MileClear keeps it as one trip from start to finish. - Trips start where you actually set off and end where you park, with the full route in between. See your trip as it happens - A Live Activity and Dynamic Island show your trip recording in real time, with distance and duration, so you can glance down and know it is working without opening the app. Never lose or mis-save a trip - Gentle check-ins when you save: if a trip has no distance, or no vehicle picked, MileClear asks first (you can always save anyway). - Cannot calculate a distance? You can now type the miles in yourself instead of being stuck. - Assigned to the wrong vehicle? Fix it on any saved trip in a tap. Always know what the app is doing - Clear banners tell you when a trip is recording, when something has not synced, or when a permission that tracking needs has been switched off, each with a one-tap fix. Under the hood - Faster, steadier, and a long list of fixes to make the core job, recording your miles, boringly dependable. As always, your figures and HMRC calculations are worked out for you and ready to export at tax time. ``` --- ## App Review Information / Notes for Reviewer Paste into "App Review Information > Notes". The Motion & Fitness section is important: it is a new permission this version and pre-empts a reviewer question. ``` MileClear is a UK mileage-tracking app for gig drivers, delivery drivers, and self-employed motorists. It records business miles for HMRC self-assessment. Testing trip recording: Automatic trip detection requires real driving and live GPS movement, which is not practical in a review environment. To exercise the same recording pipeline, please use the manual "Start Trip" or "Start Shift" controls on the dashboard. Both record, save, and display a trip exactly as auto-detection does. Permissions in this version: - Location (Always): required so trips record while the app is in the background, which is the app's core function. The app explains this on first run and still works in foreground-only mode if declined. - Motion & Fitness: used only to detect when the device begins moving by car, which makes automatic trip detection faster and more reliable for short journeys. It is NOT used for health, fitness, or workout data. The app functions without it; detection is simply less responsive. Demo account for Pro features: Email: demo@mileclear.com Password: MileClear2026! This account has Pro access enabled, so the reviewer can exercise HMRC exports, the Self-Assessment wizard, CSV import, and business insights without a sandbox subscription purchase. EXPENSES, A FIRST-CLASS SECTION Every taxable purchase you log, from parking and fuel to phone bills and congestion charges, now lives in a dedicated Expenses screen with the 17 categories HMRC uses on Self Assessment. Snap a photo of any receipt, and the amount, date, and vendor are automatically pulled off the paper using on-device text recognition. Nothing leaves your phone. Subsistence and accommodation categories carry inline HMRC SE57240 warnings to ensure you only claim what’s actually deductible. BANK-FEED INBOX (Pro) If you’ve connected a bank, every transaction now lands in a new Inbox screen for one-tap triage: Accept as Earning, Accept as Expense, or Ignore. Known-platform earnings (Uber, Deliveroo, Just Eat, Amazon Flex, Stuart, Gophr) still auto-import in the background. Everything else gets a category suggestion based on the merchant name, with a confidence dot so high-confidence rows can be batch-accepted at speed. THE CATEGORISER LEARNS Pick a category that’s not the suggested one, and the next time the same merchant arrives in your inbox, your override becomes the new default. The longer you use it, the less you’ll tap. Your spending shape stays yours, and no data ever leaves your account. PROJECT / CLIENT LABELS If you do freelance work alongside gig driving (theatre tech, photography, multi-client gigs), tag trips, earnings, and expenses with a project name. The data flows through to a per-project profitability view (early access for Pro). PROFIT BY PLATFORM The Insights screen now features a new “Profit by Platform” card, providing a clear breakdown of gross, costs, and net earnings for each platform you work for over the past 30 days. Costs are split by earnings share, making it easy to determine which platforms are actually worth your time, considering fuel and parking expenses. CLEANER HOME The avatar menu has been revamped to include a dedicated “WORK & TAX” section. This section groups the most frequently accessed items during tax time, including Work & Tax settings, Invoices, Expenses, Inbox, and Work Schedule. BEHIND THE SCENES A few reliability and iPad polish fixes have been implemented. The Live Activity work from version 1.2.0 remains unchanged. HMRC quarterly submissions are still in the sandbox, as production credentials are still being processed by HMRC. FREE TIER IS UNCHANGED The free tier remains unchanged. The Pro subscription continues to cost £4.99 per month or £44.99 per year.

A handful of fixes from the 1.2.0 smoke test: - **HMRC Connect button now works.** The 1.2.0 build opened the wrong URL and bounced you to a "Missing or invalid token" error. Fixed. - **No more upsell modal for existing Pro members.** Pro users tracking their 5th trip were seeing a "Subscribe to Pro" pitch. Embarrassing. Won't happen again. - **Paywall copy cleaned up.** Removed an outdated "Google account" reference, switched the deduction estimate to count only business miles (not personal), and dropped a marketing claim that wasn't defensible. - **Lock Screen context band lights up.** When you've driven today and start a new shift, the Lock Screen Live Activity now shows TODAY's total miles, distance to the next mileage milestone, and (for shift workers) today's earnings tally. Swift code was in 1.2.0 but the data layer wasn't piping it through. - **Beta · Sandbox banner on in-progress features.** The MTD ITSA and Open Banking screens now wear an honest "this is still in sandbox" marker so it's clear what's production-ready versus pre-launch. - **Work & Tax shortcut in the avatar dropdown.** No more Profile -> Settings -> Work & Tax. One tap from any screen.

Big update covering everything since 1.1.1. Two new features for drivers with extra income or non-platform freelance work, plus reliability and polish throughout. Tax estimates that reflect your real bracket - New "Other annual income" setting (Profile > Work settings). Enter the pre-tax income from your main job, pension, rental etc. and the dashboard tax estimate jumps to your real marginal bracket. If you've got a £50k main job, your gig profit now correctly shows the higher-rate set-aside instead of guessing basic rate. Leave it blank and nothing changes. Freelance / private gig trip tag - New platform tag for trips that aren't food delivery or rideshare. Photography, consultancy, private bookings, anything self-employed but not on a gig platform - tag it as Freelance instead of having to fall back to "Other". For employees who claim mileage from work - Custom rates in Settings. Set the pence-per-mile your employer pays you (and an optional after-10,000-miles tier). Every total in the app now reflects your actual claim, not the HMRC default. Helpful if your employer pays 40p, 35p, 30p or any other rate, because your tax exports will match what you submit on your P87 or self-assessment. Auto-trip detection - Detection now waits until you're properly driving before showing the Live Activity. No more "0 mi" notifications firing when you're parked, walking past your car, or sitting at a junction with patchy GPS. - Drives that begin with slow residential streets now record from the actual departure point, not from when you join the main road. The first 15 minutes of your school run, depot pull-out or estate drive are no longer chopped off. - Driving past a saved location (a school, depot or shop you've saved) no longer ends your trip. The app now waits to see if you actually stop before deciding it's a real arrival, so a single drive through multiple saved spots stays as one continuous trip. - A new server-side watchdog finds and finalises any trip that ever gets stuck recording. You no longer need to open the app to wake up a recording that iOS suspended in the background. - Phantom walking trips (the rare 0.4-mile slow-pace ghosts that occasionally appeared after a long indoor walk) are now caught locally before they ever sync. Saved-location trips - Trips between two of your saved places (Home to Work, depot to home, etc) now sync to the cloud properly. A handful of users had local-only "Pending sync" trips that never reached the server. This update auto-recovers them on first launch. Faster, more polished feel - Six of the most-used screens now load with a skeleton placeholder instead of a generic spinner. The shape of the screen appears instantly while data fills in. - Dashboard cards animate in one after another as they load, instead of all-at-once. - The "End trip" button now requires a press-and-hold instead of a single tap, so an accidental bounce of your phone in the car cradle can't end a trip by mistake. - Subtle haptic and visual tick at every whole-mile mark while recording. - The Live Activity / Dynamic Island shows real distance and time the moment a recording starts. - Filter trips by platform (Uber, Deliveroo, Just Eat, Amazon Flex, DPD, Evri, Stuart, Gophr, Yodel, Freelance) alongside All / Inbox / Business / Personal. - "This tax year" and "Last tax year" date presets, lined up to the UK 6 April boundary. Smaller wins - Tighter copy across notifications and empty states. - The "items pending sync" banner is gone; pending counts moved into the trips list. - New shortcut in Profile to rate MileClear. The in-app rating prompt is calmer too. - Subscription plan switcher is more reliable on the Pro upgrade screen.

Reliability and recording fixes. This release is focused on making sure every trip you drive gets recorded and saved to your account, every time. - The Business Mileage card on the dashboard was stuck showing 0 miles for everyone, regardless of how many business trips you had classified. Fixed - it now displays your real monthly business mileage, and shows a clear error if data fails to load instead of silently rendering zero. - Phantom 0.1-mile trips that appeared while you were actively driving. iOS occasionally suspends background processing during long drives, and the recording engine was treating that suspension as "stopped driving" and saving a tiny zero-duration trip - while the Live Activity correctly continued tracking your real journey. Fixed at the source - the recording now actively verifies you have stopped before finalising a trip, and any tiny zero-duration trip that somehow gets through is dropped automatically. - "Trip not found" error when classifying a trip that had not finished syncing to the server yet. Fixed - the app now waits for a trip to reach the server before sending classification updates, and the sync queue self-heals so your classifications always apply once the create completes. No more silently lost classifications. - Sync queue could get stuck on a network blip until you restarted the app. The sync engine now retries automatically every 60 seconds and on every app foreground, so stuck items drain within a minute of conditions clearing. - Pull down on the trips list to flush any pending items and refresh. A discoverable single-gesture recovery if anything ever looks off with your trip count. - Marketing emails now have a working Unsubscribe link in the footer, replacing the previous "reply with unsubscribe" instruction. You can also manage email preferences from your web dashboard settings.

Privacy floor of 5 contributors per cell - never exposes individuals. - HMRC Reconciliation. Enter the figures HMRC has on file from each platform's Digital Platform Reporting and see the gap against MileClear's tracked total. - Activity Heatmap. 7 by 24 grid of when you actually drive and earn most over the last 12 weeks. Filter by platform; toggle trips vs earnings. - MOT and tax expiry reminders, plus full DVSA MOT History. Add a vehicle with a registration plate and MileClear refreshes DVLA data weekly. Tap "View MOT History" for advisories, defects, odometer growth. - Pickup wait timer. Tap "Wait at pickup" when you arrive at a restaurant or depot. Stopwatch survives app suspension. - First-time Self Assessment guide. Plain-English walkthrough covering UTR registration, the UK tax year, what you actually pay, and the AMAP deduction. - HMRC attestation cover sheet on the Self Assessment PDF (Pro). Signed declaration page with contemporaneous-record language. - Higher-rate threshold warning. If your projected profit gets within £15,000 of the £50,270 higher-rate band, the dashboard tells you exactly how far away you are. - Earnings adoption nudge. If you are tracking trips but have not logged earnings, the Tax Readiness card surfaces a one-tap shortcut. - Business Mileage card on the work dashboard. Big month total with prev/next chevrons to navigate to past months. No more digging through the trips list to add up March's claim. - Now built for employees too. UK employees who drive their personal car for work (managers, sales reps, healthcare visiting staff, field engineers) can set their employer's per-mile rate and see what is owed, plus the Mileage Allowance Relief gap they can claim from HMRC. - Drag-handle controls in Customize Layout. Show, hide and reorder cards across the Work dashboard, Personal dashboard, Profile and the avatar menu. - Auto-trip Live Activity opt-out. New toggle in Profile > Notifications. When off, the lock-screen indicator only appears when you tap Start Trip / Start Shift yourself. - Lock-screen Delete on the "Trip recorded" notification. Bin a trip you did not want recorded without opening the app. - Trip distance now consistent between the trips list and trip detail screens. The OSRM auto-recalc no longer overwrites the saved GPS-summed distance for multi-stop trips. - Smart location-permission recovery. Tapping "Auto-detection is off" actually triggers the right iOS prompt instead of stranding you on a Settings page with no Location row. - Tap the MileClear logo from any tab to jump back to the dashboard. - Background-fetch trip recovery. iOS wakes the app every ~15 minutes to finalise any auto-trip that got stranded mid-park. - Sync queue accuracy. The pending-sync badge now reflects what will actually retry; long batches surface "Syncing 3 of 12..." progress. - Auto-trip false-positive hardening. Tighter speed-source validation and a saved-location radius bump kill GPS-drift phantom trips at home.

Biggest update since launch. Highlights: - Self Assessment wizard - step-by-step guide that maps your MileClear data to the actual HMRC SA103 form boxes, with full income tax and National Insurance breakdown. - Accountant Portal - invite your accountant by email to a read-only dashboard with your trips, expenses and earnings. They can download CSV and PDF exports without needing a MileClear account. - Receipt scanning - point your camera at a parking ticket, fuel receipt or toll. MileClear extracts the amount, date and vendor automatically. Runs entirely on your phone, your images never leave the device. - Siri Shortcuts - "Hey Siri, start my shift", "How many miles today?", "Log expense", "Weekly goal progress". Hands-free while driving. - Active Recording screen - reachable from the Live Activity, the Dynamic Island, the persistent notification or a new amber banner on the dashboard. You always know when MileClear is recording, even if iOS quietly drops the Live Activity. - More accurate trip distances. We filter out GPS noise and snap routes to actual roads using OpenStreetMap. Roughly 5-10% better accuracy on winding country lanes, and a clean polyline on the map instead of jagged jumps. - Auto-detection no longer triggers when you're parked at a saved location. Setting Home, Work, or your depot now blocks the false "you started driving" notification when GPS drift makes you briefly look like you are moving indoors. - Change your password from inside the app or on the web dashboard, no reset email required. - Stuck-recording watchdog - if iOS stops delivering location updates mid-trip, a repeating timer detects and saves the trip instead of leaving it stuck. - Apple In-App Purchase webhooks now process subscription events correctly across both Sandbox and Production environments. - Many smaller fixes and reliability improvements.

• Self Assessment Wizard: A step-by-step guide that maps your MileClear data to HMRC SA103 form boxes. It shows exactly which numbers go in which boxes and provides a full income tax and National Insurance breakdown. You can download a ready-to-file PDF at the end. • Accountant Sharing: Invite your accountant by email to a read-only dashboard showing your trips, mileage deductions, expenses, and earnings. They can download CSV and PDF exports without needing a MileClear account. • Receipt Scanning: Point your camera at a parking ticket, toll receipt, or fuel receipt, and it automatically extracts the amount, date, and vendor. On-device processing means your photos never leave your phone. • Siri Shortcuts: “Hey Siri, start my shift,” “How many miles today?”, “Log expense,” and “Weekly goal progress.” These shortcuts work hands-free while driving. IMPROVED: • Clearer location permission flow during onboarding. If you decline “Always” access, a new card explains the auto-detection costs and deep-links you straight to the right iOS Settings page. Live Activity Improvements: - Live Activity duration now accurately reflects your real drive time, not the time since you started the trip. - When you classify a trip from the Trip Complete screen, the Live Activity updates immediately, eliminating the need to classify it again. Bug Fixes: - A rare bug that could cause trip data to be lost when ending a long shift has been fixed. GPS coordinates are now preserved until trips are confirmed saved. - Apple In-App Purchase webhook verification has been improved, ensuring that subscription activations that were previously silently failing now process correctly. - If iOS stops delivering location updates during a trip, a new watchdog detects the issue within 3 minutes and saves the trip instead of leaving it stuck indefinitely. - Duplicate push notifications (morning briefings and post-drive alerts) that some users were receiving have been deduplicated per device. We appreciate the contributions of everyone on TestFlight and in the Facebook group for reporting issues. Please keep them coming.

v1.0.7 focuses on the Live Activity end-trip flow. Tapping End Trip on the lock screen now actually ends the trip and shows you a proper summary, the way it should have from day one. Instant End Trip from the lock screen On iOS 17.2 and newer, tapping End Trip on the Live Activity flips the widget to "Saving trip..." instantly, with no wait for the app to launch. This uses Apple's new interactive Live Activity buttons so the response is immediate. On older iOS versions the button still works, it just takes a couple of seconds longer. New Trip Complete view Once the trip is saved, the Live Activity transitions to a proper Trip Complete summary on your lock screen. You see a checkmark, your final distance in MileClear amber, and your total duration frozen at the end time (shown as HH:MM:SS for trips over an hour). If the trip was not auto-classified, there is a one-tap Classify Trip button right on the lock screen. The summary stays visible for up to 5 minutes before iOS dismisses it. Faster trips in your inbox Trip finalisation used to run reverse geocoding, classification, and road-data lookups one after the other. They now run in parallel, so auto-classified trips land in your inbox seconds after you finish driving instead of after a noticeable delay. Runaway timer fix Fixed a rare bug where the Trip In Progress screen could show wildly wrong elapsed times like "5369:16" on a fresh drive. The underlying cause was stale GPS data from a crashed previous session bleeding into new trips. Your timer now always starts from the moment you actually set off. Cleaner trip starts New trips now clear any leftover GPS breadcrumbs from previous crashed sessions before they begin recording. Distance and start location are always accurate to the current trip, not a mixture of old and new data. Dynamic Island updates The Dynamic Island now shows a checkmark icon when a trip is complete, and the frozen duration displays correctly in the compact pill for longer trips. If you spot anything odd, please send feedback from Profile > Feedback. v1.0.6 added internal diagnostics that help us pin down exactly what happened, so the more you report, the faster we can fix things.

v1.0.6 focuses on auto trip accuracy after feedback that some distances were short and occasional trips were not starting. More accurate distances Auto-detected trips now cross-check your GPS path against UK road data, fixing the small undercount that made winding routes and country lanes read 5-10% short. Your HMRC mileage claims should now match what is on your odometer. Reliable trip starts Leaving home, work, or any saved location now begins recording from the moment you drive off instead of a few hundred metres later. If you step straight onto a motorway, the first highway reading is enough to start recording. No more waiting for confirmation. Better cold-start GPS The app now trusts your first location fix when leaving a garage or shaded driveway, even if accuracy is still settling. Fewer missed starts on early morning drives. Faster permission recovery If location permission gets downgraded, the app now reminds you every 4 hours instead of once per day, so trips do not silently stop recording. Trip Complete screen Long trips over an hour now display as HH:MM:SS instead of a runaway minute counter. Internal diagnostics Added event logging for auto-trip detection so remaining edge cases can be investigated properly. If you spot a trip that is missing or wrong, please send feedback from the Profile screen.

Smarter trip detection: multi-stop journeys (fuel stops, school drop-offs, drive-throughs) now record as one continuous trip instead of splitting into fragments. The stop timeout is more forgiving and GPS drift no longer creates phantom mini-trips. New feedback system: see admin replies on your suggestions, check Known Issues to see what we're fixing, and tap "Me too" on bugs that affect you. Tapping the driving notification now opens your live trip map showing the full route. Live Activity timer no longer resets when switching apps. Trip filter switching is now instant and accurate.

We hear you! You can now see admin replies directly on your feedback, and there’s a new Known Issues section so you always know what we’re working on. Simply tap “Me too” to let us know if a bug affects you. Trip filters now switch instantly between Business, Personal, and Inbox views, eliminating any mix-ups. Under the hood, tapping the driving notification now opens your live trip map immediately, displaying your entire route from the moment we detected you driving. Similarly, tapping the Live Activity icon on the lock screen now correctly opens the app.

MileClear now auto-classifies your trips using your saved locations, work schedule, and driving patterns. Simply classify a route three times, and it learns it permanently. You can also classify trips without opening the app using the Lock screen Business/Personal buttons. Unclassified trips are grouped by route for one-tap batch classification. The redesigned Live Activity now features bolder numbers, a branded look, and End Trip/Not Driving action buttons. Trip finalisation is also faster after parking, and navigation-grade GPS accuracy ensures accurate location tracking.
