What's new in 1.2.1 • Bug: Restore purchases only looked on this iPhone or iPad, so an unlock bought on another device could play hide-and-seek. Fix: Restore now asks the App Store as well, and the unlock comes out of hiding. • Bug: if the device was slow to open its secure storage when the app started, Arithmetix could forget it had been unlocked until you closed it. Fix: it now starts safely and checks again, so the unlock finds its way back. • Bug: the night the clocks go forward, "Review tomorrow" turned into "Review now", a whole day early. What's new in 1.2.0 • No more accounts. No email, no password, no "which sign-in did I use again?". Set up your family on the device, pick a Parent PIN, done. Everything your children earn stays on the iPhone or iPad they earned it on. • Forgot your Parent PIN? You now get a recovery code when you set one. Write it down, screenshot it, stick it on the fridge. • A whole new look. Cosy pixel-art scenes for the home screens, Wonder Trail, Times Tables, Challenges and Sprint, and Pip finally has a proper yard with actual grass to stand on. • Some questions had the wrong answer marked, or no right answer at all. We asked children to pick "greater than" or "less than" for two equal numbers, quietly rounded division answers down, wanted answers below zero from a keypad with no minus key, and forgot that a square is also a rectangle. Every topic has now been re-solved and checked, so exactly one answer is right. • Bar-chart and clock questions now show an actual bar chart and an actual clock, instead of asking children to imagine one. • Pets were losing hearts every time the app was reopened, not once per day off. Pip was fainting from sheer attendance. Hearts now fade once per missed day. • Brothers and sisters: the second and third child's pet sometimes turned up as a stranger called "My Mascot" until the app was reopened. Everyone now meets their own pet first time. • Coins and badges no longer occasionally un-earn themselves, levels only ever go up, and the character creator stops erasing pieces you already bought. • Daily plans for Years 2 and 3 kept starting over before anyone could finish them. They stay put now, and finishing one counts. • Times tables stopped repeating themselves and stopped putting the answer in the same spot every time. Some of you noticed. Well spotted. • Difficulty now follows how the last few sessions went, rather than one lucky (or unlucky) day. • Small things: chart labels no longer split "Wednesday" in half, the pencil no longer sits on top of the Next button, and badge names are no longer yellow on yellow. • If something ever does go wrong, you now get a friendly way back to the start instead of a grey screen. Upgrading? Your children, pets, coins, characters and Parent PIN come with you. Older records that only ever lived online, like past session history, don't make the trip. Sorry about that.

One maths session, one reward — accountants everywhere may relax. • Reward checks now use the freshest child profile, including after an offline save, so delayed cloud updates cannot sneak a duplicate reward through the side door. • Ready Mode accepts leading-zero answers such as 06 when the value is 6, matching normal practice. • The exercise generators passed a full stress review, and the project is clean of analyzer warnings with 1,188 tests passing. • Arithmetix now requires iOS 15 or later.

Finish it and you get a shareable Fluency Certificate with your pet on it. (It's practice, not the official check.) - Got a sum wrong? Tap "Explain it to me" and we step through the actual method — column addition, short multiplication, fractions of an amount — not just the answer. - New: a proper 7-day free trial. Everything free for a week, then one payment unlocks it for up to 5 children. The numbers now always work out exactly. • Fixed a couple of questions that could have two equally-valid answers (a tie for "the mode" or "the biggest increase") while only accepting one. • "Parent mode" on the home screen now asks for the PIN before opening the parent area. • Progress stats no longer double-count a session if it has to be re-synced after losing connection.

Still never on launch, never on error. • Search-listing cleanup: removed three competitor app names that were sitting in the keyword field (they wouldn't help us rank and would have triggered a metadata rejection eventually). We taught our links some new tricks — they now point to the right place instead of wandering off like a confused pigeon. No pigeons were harmed in the making of this update. Your child's brain training remains as excellent as ever.
