Pray the Rosary, keep a Holy Hour, or rest in silence without watching the clock. A bell calls you back. Classic sacred masterworks. No account, no ads, no tracking.
Set your phone down and pray. Sacred Time keeps the hour so you can keep watch.
Choose a prayer by its painting. Each devotion is paired with a public-domain masterwork by Murillo, Caravaggio, Velázquez, Rembrandt, Zurbarán, La Tour, Millet and others. Touch Begin. The screen grows quiet: only the painting, a thin gold ring and the time. When your prayer is complete, the painting comes into full light and a bell calls you back. Say Amen.
TWELVE PRAYERS
• Holy Rosary, with the mysteries of the day
• Holy Hour, before the Blessed Sacrament
• Personal Prayer, for your own time
• Divine Mercy Chaplet
• The Angelus (the Regina Caeli in Eastertide)
• Morning Offering
• Rosary Decade
• Lectio Divina
• Liturgy of the Hours
• Examen
• Silent Meditation
• Night Prayer
Set any prayer’s length with − and +, or tap the minutes to choose. Sacred Time remembers it, and opens on the prayer you prayed last.
A BELL, NOT A BEEP
Seven recorded bells — small bells, bronze bells and a soft chime — or a touch upon the hand, or silence. A bell can strike once, call twice, or return until you say Amen. If you allow notifications, your chosen bell rings on the lock screen too.
THE WORDS, WHEN YOU NEED THEM
Without leaving your prayer, open the words for the Rosary and today’s mysteries, the Angelus, the Morning Offering, Night Prayer, the Examen and Lectio Divina.
A QUIET JOURNAL
Each prayer you finish is kept on your device. See the days you prayed this week and the hours you have given, with no streaks to lose.
GENTLE REMINDERS
A daily reminder at the time you choose, each day with a line of Scripture, and optional Angelus bells at 6 AM, noon and 6 PM.
PRIVATE BY DESIGN
No account. No ads. No tracking. Your prayer stays on your device.

I have been looking for a while for a simple Catholic timer for mental prayer, and Sacred Time is just the ticket- it’s lovely! The app offers timers for all kinds of Catholic prayers, so it’s also a handy way to track your prayer commitments. The prayers have a baseline prayer time, but you can add minutes as desired before you begin. What I really appreciate is that when your time is completed, a gentle chime sounds, and then it politely pulses until you tap the “Amen” button. I love this app! 🙏🏼
Sacred Time 1.2: a quieter, more beautiful place to pray.
• Each prayer now has its own classic masterwork. Swipe to choose; touch Begin.
• While you pray, the controls fade away. Touch anywhere to bring them back.
• When your prayer ends, its painting comes into full light. Deo gratias.
• Your chosen bell can now ring on the lock screen too (allow notifications).
• Change any prayer’s length with − and +, or tap the minutes to choose. Sacred Time remembers it.
• Words for the Rosary and today’s mysteries, the Angelus, the Morning Offering, Night Prayer, the Examen and Lectio Divina.
• New: Angelus bells at 6 AM, noon and 6 PM (Regina Caeli in Eastertide). Daily reminders now carry a line of Scripture.
• Your Journal now shows your week, without streaks.
• Adoration is now called Holy Hour; Custom Prayer is now Personal Prayer.
• Reliability: a prayer is no longer lost if iOS closes the app, the bell no longer rings when you return hours later, and “Until Amen” now rests after five minutes.
Thank you for praying with us, and for every suggestion that shapes Sacred Time. AMDG
