Tazakka — The Fajr Alarm That Won't Let You Go Back to Sleep, and a Log for All Five Prayers
Struggling to wake up for Fajr? Tazakka is not another alarm clock. It is a wake-up system: you choose the tasks that have to be finished before the alarm will stop, and it keeps ringing until they are. Once you are up, it is where you log your five daily prayers and keep track of how consistent you are.
◆ WAKE-UP TASKS — FIVE KINDS TO CHOOSE FROM
Choose what stands between you and going back to sleep:
• Typing — type a phrase word by word. Choose from ready-made adhkar, or add your own
• Walking — get out of bed and walk a set number of steps, counted by your iPhone
• Answer a question — answer correctly to prove you are actually awake
• Math — solve a short sum at Easy, Medium or Hard, from one problem to five. The alarm stops the moment you answer correctly, with no submit button
• Coloured tiles (new) — a memory task. Tiles light up on a grid for a few seconds, then hide, and you tap where they were. Three levels, each with a bigger grid and less time to look; one to five rounds; and you choose how many mistakes each round allows. Go over and the round restarts with a new pattern
◆ BUILD A CHAIN OF UP TO FIVE TASKS
Stack tasks in the order you want to face them, and finish them one after another. Heavy sleeper? Add more. Changed your mind? Swap any task without rebuilding the chain.
◆ TRY ANY TASK BEFORE YOU RELY ON IT
Preview a task in full from Settings, so nothing surprises you before dawn.
◆ A FAJR ALARM SET FROM YOUR LOCATION
Accurate prayer times for where you are, with the Fajr alarm following them every day and no manual resetting. It rings the number of minutes before Fajr that you choose. You can snooze while there is still time; once Fajr comes in, snooze is gone and only your tasks will stop it.
◆ LOG ALL FIVE PRAYERS (NEW)
Your log is no longer Fajr only. Record Dhuhr, Asr, Maghrib and Isha too, prayed or not, alongside whether the alarm got you up for Fajr. Missed one? Add a reason if you want to. Anything you logged can be corrected later. Days when a prayer is not required are marked "Not required", so they are never counted as missed.
◆ YOUR WEEK AT A GLANCE
Home shows a grid of the week: your five prayers and your alarm wake-ups, so you can see what is done and what is left.
◆ A TRACKING LOG FOR EVERY PRAYER
Your Fajr streak and wake-up streak, with the best you have ever reached. For each of the other prayers, how often you prayed it and your current streak. Switch between prayers to see each one's history: 13 weeks for every prayer, and up to a full year for Fajr.
◆ A TREE THAT GROWS WITH YOU
Your tree grows every Fajr you wake up for and wilts when you fall behind. You see it on Home every morning.
◆ CONTENT FOR THE MORNING YOU JUST WON
Articles, images and video on Fajr, prayer and the morning adhkar. Search, filter by type or by what you have already watched, and sort by newest.
◆ ISLAMIC Q&A
Browse questions people have already asked and read the scholars' answers.
◆ WIDGET, LOCK SCREEN AND DYNAMIC ISLAND
Add a prayer times widget to your Home Screen in small, medium or large. The countdown to the next prayer also appears on your Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island.
◆ SLEEP REMINDER
Set your bedtime and be reminded when it comes. Sleeping early is half of waking up.
◆ ALARM SOUNDS
Recited adhan, "hayya ala salah", and a range of alarm tones — with your own volume level.
◆ ARABIC AND ENGLISH, LIGHT AND DARK
The whole app in Arabic or English, with a dark theme.
Tazakka — Wake up. Pray Fajr. Keep every prayer.

New in Tazakka v26.10.2:
Auto wake-up mode
Instead of setting the same challenge every night, switch Wake Up Techniques to Auto and build a
challenge pool of at least two types. Each morning the alarm picks one of them and runs it with
the settings you gave it, so you can't get used to a single task. You'll find it in Settings →
Notifications Settings → Wake up by → Wake Up Techniques. If a challenge in your pool is for
subscribers, the app tells you and offers to remove it or switch back to Manual. On an iPhone
where walking can't be counted, walking is shown as unavailable and is never picked.
Prayers I log
Choose which prayers you want to track in Settings → Prayer Times → Prayers I log. Fajr is always
logged. Your Home week, your prayer log and your statistics then show only the prayers you
chose. If you track Fajr alone, everything focuses on Fajr. Hiding a prayer never deletes its
history.
Log your prayers with one tap
Answer each prayer right in its row: prayed, not prayed or not required. Tap "Prayed all" to fill
the rest of the day at once. Only one day is open at a time, and older days that still need an
answer appear as short rows. A reason for missing Dhuhr to Isha is now optional; you can add one
if you want. A finished day folds away on its own.
Bug Fixes & Improvements:
- On iOS 26, an alarm that rang but was never dismissed no longer stops the next Fajr alarm from
being set
- Settings now say "saved" only once the server has accepted them, and tell you when a change
couldn't be saved
- The morning Fajr reminder stays open after you've logged everything and labels each day
- Alarms are scheduled correctly again after the phone's clock is changed
- Every hadith quoted in the app now names its source, with al-Albani's grading on the sunan
Thank you for using Tazakka! Update now for the best experience.
