ScribeBar is a lightweight macOS menu bar app for private recording and transcription.
Built for fast onboard microphone capture, ScribeBar lets you start and stop from global hotkeys, then generates transcripts locally on your Mac using Whisper-based models.
Best Use:
Best results come from onboard mic capture or speaker bleed so both sides of the conversation are audible. If you use headphones, configure an Aggregate or Multi-Output device so meeting audio is still captured.
No built in speaker detection: transcripts are plain text and are intended to be pasted into an LLM for summaries and further processing.
