• New ON/OFF test on the Meter tab: keep the phone still next to a device and switch the device on and off twice when the app asks. The result shows how many µT the reading changed between ON and OFF, or "No clear change under these conditions." If the phone or the reading moved, it asks you to try again. Results are saved to History and included in Export CSV. • The test compares magnetic readings only. It does not tell what caused a change and is not a health or safety measurement. • In History, a single measurement’s own average was labeled "7d Avg". It is now labeled "avg value".

• After you tap Start, the meter checks whether the magnetometer is actually sending readings. If nothing arrives within a few seconds, a "No magnetic sensor signal" card appears where "Calibrating…" used to stay. • "Zero here" is unavailable while the card is shown. • The card goes away as soon as readings come in; measuring, saving and history work as before.

• The ring on Meter now pulses through the system animation engine, reducing animation work per reading during long measurements. • Intensity changes in 50 µT steps: no visible pulse below 50 µT, and a 1-second cycle from 500 µT upward. • An unused animation was removed. Readings, peak/min/max, history and sound retain their existing behavior.

Start measuring by tapping the gauge itself, or the new START button right under it. In Standard mode the gauge no longer sits at a blank 0 while it calibrates: it shows "Calibrating…" and tells you to turn the phone in a slow figure-8. A short vibration confirms each start and stop, the gauge level labels read more clearly, and the tabs and buttons use clean line icons.

The meter was reacting to how you held the phone, not to what was in the wall. A phone's magnetometer reads the magnets inside the phone itself as well as the field around it, and that internal offset can be ten times larger than Earth's field. The app used to cancel it by taking a single reading at startup and subtracting that number. But the phone's own magnetism stays put while Earth's field swings through the phone as you tilt it — so tilting alone moved the reading by as much as the whole scale. Sweeping a phone along a wall is nothing but tilting, which is how bare drywall could show a red "live wire" warning. The app now works out the phone's own magnetism properly, by fitting the shape your readings trace as you turn the device. Turn it slowly in a figure-8 for a few seconds when you start and it will say when it is ready. After that, rotating the phone in an empty room barely moves the number at all, where before it could swing across the entire scale. Also in this update: • Warnings like "live wire" now wait until the calibration is actually good. Until then you see the reading and a neutral "still settling" label instead of a hazard verdict. • If the phone's magnetism changes mid-session — a magnetic car mount, setting it on a speaker — the app notices and recalibrates instead of reporting the change as a field forever. • The guide no longer says the app measures AC magnetic fields. It samples about ten times a second, so 50/60 Hz mains fields, RF, Wi-Fi and radiation are outside what the hardware can do. What it does measure is distortion from ferrous metal, magnets, motors and transformers. • The ICNIRP figures are labelled as reference levels for context, not a compliance verdict. They are the 50/60 Hz public values, and this app measures a static field, which that guidance treats separately.

Ads no longer interrupt you mid-task. Anything full-screen now waits until you have finished what you were doing, and the app stops showing a blank pause where an ad failed to load.

Starting a measurement is no longer interrupted — the app gets straight to work, and anything that needs your attention waits until you are done.
