region, opens a built-in editor with arrows, shapes, text, highlighter and real
pixelation blur, and saves the result to a folder you choose on your own Mac. If
you want a shareable link, it uploads directly to storage you already own: your
FTP/FTPS server, Dropbox, Google Drive or Amazon S3. No account, no sign-in, no

The timer shown while recording now ticks once a second. It used to stall and then jump forward several seconds at a time, so the elapsed time on screen was often wrong. This affects both video and GIF recording.
