This update is about trust: fewer false alarms, and an alarm when it matters. ALARMS NEED REAL MOVEMENT The alarm used to go off simply because "familiar" Bluetooth devices were nearby — often an iPad that never leaves home, or a neighbour's phone. Now an alarm only starts when WiFi sensing detects movement in the room. YOUR IPHONE DISARMS GUARD WHEN YOU COME HOME Mark your iPhone as Familiar under Devices. If it has been away and comes back next to your Mac while Guard is armed, Guard switches to Home and cancels the alarm — and tells you on your phone, with a one-tap "Arm Guard" if it wasn't you. A phone left at home never disarms anything. You can turn this off in Alarm settings. CLEANER FAMILIAR-DEVICE LIST Automatic learning had quietly trusted many nearby devices. Those entries are removed once, learning is now off by default, and each familiar device has a one-click Forget. EXIT DELAY AND PET TOLERANCE Choose a 30, 60 or 90 second exit delay (default 60). Pet tolerance ignores brief disturbances such as a cat walking by. CALIBRATION CAN NO LONGER LEAVE GUARD BLIND A very still room could produce a zero baseline that switched motion sensing off without any warning. The baseline now has a safe minimum, and Guard warns you if you arm it without calibration. ONE NOTIFICATION PER ALARM Each alarm now shows as a single notification on your iPhone that updates as it escalates.

This update is all about reliability. Several things that were supposed to work simply didn't — they do now. THE SIREN ACTUALLY SOUNDS The alarm sound file wasn't being included in the app, so the siren silently fell back to a quiet system beep. It is now bundled and plays at full volume. PROTECTION SURVIVES SLEEP When your Mac went to sleep in Away mode, monitoring quietly stopped and you were never told. Guard now keeps your Mac awake while armed (you can turn this off in Settings), logs sleep and wake events, and recalculates alarm timing against the real clock after waking. THE MENU BAR ICON REACTS The icon stayed the same no matter what was happening. It now changes as the alarm escalates, so a glance tells you the state. SIRI AND SHORTCUTS WORK "Arm", "Disarm" and "Dismiss alarm" previously reported success without changing anything. They now drive the running app for real — grace period starts, the timeline records it, and the state syncs. NOTIFICATION BUTTONS WORK Arm and Disarm from a notification now actually change the mode instead of only updating the on-screen label. HISTORY, REPORTS AND EXPORT ARE REACHABLE 30-day history and the weekly activity report were included in Pro but had no way to open them. Both now have their own sections, and you can export your timeline to CSV. ALARM SETTINGS ARE REAL SETTINGS The siren toggle and countdown length were previously cosmetic. They are now saved and respected — if you turn the siren off, it stays off. WELCOME HOME NOTIFICATIONS The "welcome home" message after a long absence never fired because of an ordering bug. Fixed. FEWER FALSE ALARMS A known device could be mistaken for a stranger after its Bluetooth address rotated, which could raise an alarm for someone who lives with you. Device recognition is now much more reliable. TRIAL NO LONGER STOPS PROTECTION SILENTLY When the trial ended, monitoring shut down with no warning — even in Vacation mode. It now warns you first, and the trial check no longer depends on iCloud being reachable. LIVE ACTIVITY VIEW The activity timeline now updates while the window is open instead of only on first load. BATTERY AND ENERGY Cloud writes and widget refreshes are skipped when nothing changed, timers use system-friendly tolerances, and Bluetooth scanning adapts to the power profile.
