Standards & Regulations has a group of its own, with the standards for your region listed under the region picker. Email sending sits in Integrations, and settings profiles in Backup & Transfer. Type in the search box to go straight to any setting. Busy groups, such as Survey Tools and Help & Legal, list their parts, and each part opens on a page of its own. In case you missed them: Area Checklists, free in every room and outside area of a General Inspection. Set them up in Settings, then Survey Tools, then Area checklists. Settings, then Reports, has an Independent surveyor disclosure: write your independence statement once and it prints with Essential Costs in every report. Each survey can switch it off or reword it on its Essential Costs screen. Company History has its own switch too. Left empty, neither shows in the report or the PDF, even when switched on. Essential Costs: about 40 more standard items, with groups for windows, doors and joinery, internal finishes, and drainage and grounds, and a search box. Totals leave out Seek Further Advice items and hidden prices, add VAT at your rate, and match on the survey, the report and the PDF. Long descriptions wrap in full. The Legal Disclaimer has its own switch on its section, so you can leave it out of one report. Smart Build has more choices in the report sections, recommendations and photo captions. iPad: in landscape, and on a 13-inch iPad either way up, the app shows two pages side by side: the sections, elements or rooms on the left and the one you open on the right. Each page scrolls on its own. Settings shows its groups beside the one you open. Tap the ? beside a heading, a section or a setting to see what it is for, even offline. Close buttons stay at the top of every window as you scroll. Messages, prompts and pop-ups keep to one page when the app shows two. Dark mode and layout tidy-ups throughout the app. iPhone Duo fixes: Opened out, Smart Build puts its choices on one page and the wording on the other. Held upright, each screen's header sits level with the clock, giving the page more room. With the phone open, each of the two pages now scrolls on its own. The buttons at the bottom of a page stay put when you reach its end. Pages stop just after their last item, without a long blank space. No white strip at the side while the app starts.

Free and optional: a valuation section for Home Surveys at any level. Switch on Market Valuation, Insurance Reinstatement Cost or both in A Instruction, for that survey only. It stays off unless you switch it on. Record your own market value, printed in figures and words, with the valuation date, tenure and lease details, floor area, assumptions, special assumptions, market commentary, comparables and any material valuation uncertainty. Or report the value as withheld until further investigations are back, or given in a separate report. The app never suggests a figure. The report gains J. Property valuation, and the declaration and next actions move to K and L. Readiness & Report lists what a valuation still needs, and your Registered Valuer status prints under your sign-off. Smart Build now drafts wording in more boxes, such as client sign-off, HHSRS, survey tool, planning and damage notes, and the Dubai, New Zealand and Victoria checklists.

New, free: Client Sign-Off. The tenant, landlord, client or site contact can sign on your device at the end of the visit, in every survey type, and the report prints their signature just before yours. Turn it on in Settings → Profile. Fixed: a signature drawn to sign off a report saves again. PDF: long company emails, phone numbers, websites and company numbers now stay inside the report footer. Lock Settings now also covers the About Us Clear Text button and removing the logo. With app branding removed, reports you email from your own mail server come from your company name.
