What's New in Turbo Soccer Play with a Controller Connect an Xbox, PlayStation, Switch Pro or other MFi controller and play matches, cups and training with it, menus included. Hold A to charge a kick and let go to strike, press B to slide in, and use the shoulder buttons to switch players. The controller rumbles, a PlayStation controller's light bar takes on your shirt colour, on-screen hints show your controller's own buttons, and the game pauses if it disconnects. Bluetooth keyboards work too, and touch controls still work alongside, so play whichever way you like. Smarter Opponents The computer now thinks before it plays. It weighs every pass, through ball, cross and shot against the risk of losing the ball, plays its passes at the right pace and keeps it simple under pressure. At the higher levels its keeper plays it out from the back. Each difficulty level reads the game better than the one below, so Legend is a real test. Teams That Move Together Both teams now push up and drop back as one compact unit that follows the ball. Defenders no longer get stranded at the back and strikers no longer wait upfield: forwards track back when defending and come short for the ball when attacking. Your own teammates move the same way. Fairer Challenges When two players meet, the ball no longer flicks back and forth between them, so a clean tackle wins the ball. A loose ball goes to whoever is nearest, and players no longer pull up just short of one. The referee and linesmen now step out of the players' way instead of being run straight through. Home and Away Kits Every team now has an away kit. When two teams' colours are too alike, colour blindness included, your opponents change into theirs. Goalkeepers change if they would blend in, and the referee always wears a colour no one else is wearing. You can design your team's away kit in the team editor. Imported team packs can now give each player their own skin tone and hair. Livelier Crowd New crowd recordings all around the ground: fresh stadium atmosphere in sunshine and in rain, new oohs and boos, and new chants rolling around the stands. Three Cups A new Tournaments menu puts the cups side by side, so you can see how each one is played: the International Cup (groups, then knockout), the Continental Cup (one big league table, then a playoff and knockout) and, new in this update, the Club Cup: 32 clubs, straight knockout, lose and you're out. Change Tactics Mid-Match Pause the game to pick a new formation and mentality (attacking, balanced or defensive) and your team reshapes on the spot. Your choice carries into your next match. The computer reacts too: it pushes forward when it's behind and sits back to protect a late lead. The Training Ground Eight drills with best scores to beat: the basics, free play, attacking moves, defending, free kicks, corners, penalties and penalty saves. Save Penalties Go in goal when a penalty is given against you: shuffle along your line and dive as the taker strikes. Officials on the Pitch A referee and two linesmen follow the play. Flags go up for offside and for the ball going out, and the referee raises his arm for cards and penalties. New Settings Screen Controls now live in Settings, alongside separate music, crowd and effects volumes and your game defaults: difficulty, match length, weather, goal replays, offside and vibration.
