New: Tiling and Technical Product Design, and a search box to find your profession Two new professions join the app. Tiler (Fliesenleger/-in) brings 320 vocabulary cards, 120 reading texts, 90 dialogs and 110 exercises from real days on site: measuring out a bathroom and explaining to the customer why the pattern has to start in the middle, telling a site manager that the screed is still too damp to tile on, agreeing on a joint colour from the sample board, handing over a finished room and pointing out what still needs to cure. Technical Product Designer (Technische/-r Produktdesigner/-in) brings 320 vocabulary cards, 120 reading texts, 90 dialogs and 110 exercises from the design office: talking a tolerance through with production, defending a change to a drawing in a review, explaining to a colleague why a part cannot be made the way it is drawn, walking a trainee through a 3D model and the standards behind it. Finding your profession is now quick. The profession list has a search box, so you can type a few letters instead of scrolling the whole list — and if your profession really is not there yet, you can tell us right from that screen. We plan new professions from what you ask for.

New: Vet Practice, IT Security and Nail Design, a lot more to read and practise, and dialogs that tell you who is speaking Three new professions join the app. Veterinary Assistant (Tiermedizinische/-r Fachangestellte/-r, TFA) brings 320 vocabulary cards, 120 reading texts, 90 dialogs and 110 exercises from real days in a vet practice: the owner on the phone whose dog has just eaten chocolate, holding a frightened cat for a blood sample, watching a dog's breathing under anaesthesia, saying goodbye to a family pet together with its people. IT Security (IT-Sicherheit) brings 320 vocabulary cards, 110 reading texts, 90 dialogs and 110 exercises: the suspicious attachment a colleague has already opened, handing an open alert over to the night shift, asking a developer to leave an infected server running, explaining a finding from a penetration test. Nail Design (Nageldesigner/-in) brings 175 vocabulary cards, 40 reading texts, 32 dialogs and 52 exercises from a day at the nail table: a walk-in client with a broken nail asking about the wait and the price, choosing colour and shape for a holiday from the sample nails, pushing back the cuticle and asking whether it hurts, politely declining a pedicure when the nail looks like it has a fungal infection. Every other profession grew as well, and not by a little. Across the app there are now more than 1,000 new reading texts, around 1,250 new exercises and 430 new dialogs, so the profession you are learning has noticeably more to work through than before. Dialogs now tell you who is speaking. Where a conversation used to be labelled just "A" and "B", every line now carries a real role: the hairdresser and her colleague, the paramedic and the emergency doctor, the security officer and the person at reception. The dialog quiz puts this to work: it shows you a line and asks which role said it, because recognising who talks that way is its own part of understanding a conversation. Thousands more words in the reading texts now come with a genuinely simpler explanation. Where the easy definition had ended up repeating the full one word for word, it has been rewritten in plainer German.

New: the Speaking tab, Professional Communication & four new professions! Everything you actually say out loud now lives in one place: the new Speaking tab (Sprechen). It opens with the Phrase of the Day (Satz des Tages), keeps your saved phrases under Gemerkt, and takes you straight to Professional Communication (Profi-Kommunikation), Everyday Expressions (Alltagsausdrücke), or your interview practice. Professional Communication (Profi-Kommunikation) is new, and it works for every job. It covers the eight moments at work that are hard in any language: admitting you do not know something, saying no, owning a mistake, staying calm in a conflict, disagreeing and giving feedback, committing to tasks and deadlines, asking again until you really understand, and speaking up in meetings. Across them you get 64 ready-made formulations shown side by side — the sentence that sounds weak, and the one that sounds professional — so you can see exactly what to say instead. Four new professions join the app: Dental Assistant (ZFA), Paramedic (Notfallsanitäter), Solar Installer (Solarteur), and Data Analyst (Datenanalyst). Each comes with hundreds of vocabulary cards, reading texts, dialogs, and exercises from real working days. Every existing profession also grew: ten more dialogs, ten more reading texts, and ten more exercises each. Also in this version: the multiple-choice vocabulary quiz now builds its answer options from genuinely similar words at your level, so a question tests your knowledge instead of your guessing. And your Daily Plan (Tagesplan) now reliably ticks off the Practice step (Üben) once you have finished your exercise round.

New: Dark Mode, two new professions & Everyday Expressions! The app now has a Dark Mode: choose light, dark, or follow your system setting in Settings. Two new professions join the app: Product Manager (Produktmanager/-in) and UX/UI Designer, each with hundreds of vocabulary cards, dialogs, reading texts, and exercises for everyday work in a German-speaking team. Sound natural at work with the new Everyday Expressions (Alltagsausdrücke) section: over 150 spoken phrases for six situations you meet every day, such as giving your opinion, saying you are not sure, small talk, phone calls and appointments, reacting spontaneously, and staying polite. Every phrase comes with its meaning in simple German, a note on when to use it, how formal it is, and short example exchanges. Practice them in quick 8-question rounds, mark the ones you already know, and find them as a new step in your Daily Plan.

New: Quiz, Daily Plan, Week in Review & Monthly Challenges! Test yourself with the new Quiz: a placement test (Standortbestimmung) to see where you stand, a weekly test (Wochentest) to follow your progress over time, and a quick 8-question quiz (Schnellquiz) when you only have a few minutes. Your profile now shows how you are doing skill by skill, so you always know what to practice next. You also get a personalized Daily Plan to guide your practice, a Sunday Week in Review that sums up your progress, and new Monthly Challenges to keep you motivated. And we added hundreds of new dialogs, reading texts, and exercises for professions like plumbing and heating, painting, professional driving, gardening and landscaping, civil engineering, and tourism. We also doubled the job interview (Vorstellungsgespräch) practice.
