Mercadoo E-Hailing – Platform Description
Mercadoo is a proudly South African, black-owned e-hailing platform designed to put safety, transparency, and driver empowerment at the centre of urban mobility. Built for local realities, Mercadoo connects verified riders with vetted driver partners through a secure, technology-enabled ecosystem that prioritises human oversight, real-time monitoring, and accountable service delivery.
Unlike conventional ride-hailing platforms that rely solely on automated systems, Mercadoo integrates a 24/7 human control room, mandatory in-vehicle safety cameras (supported by performance-based incentives), and ID verification with selfie confirmation protocols for users. Riders can view verified driver details before pickup, and trips are monitored through intelligent risk systems to proactively detect and respond to safety threats.
Mercadoo operates on a partnership model with driver associations, ensuring fair participation, structured benefits, and sustainable earnings. Drivers are treated as valued partners, supported through safety infrastructure, performance incentives, and transparent payout systems.
Our mission is to restore trust in e-hailing by creating a platform where passengers feel secure, drivers feel protected, and communities benefit from a safer, more accountable mobility network.
