TripTrack - Road Journal
Automatic trip diary & tracker
Free · In‑App Purchases
TripTrack is a diary of your drives. Start a recording, drive, stop — the app names
the trip by where it went, keeps the route, the speed and the climb, and puts it in
a feed you can open a year later.
RECORD WITHOUT THINKING
Recording survives a locked screen, a dead zone and a long day. Live Activity keeps
the trip on the lock screen; the app can start recording by itself when you begin
driving.
THE TRIP, AFTERWARDS
Replay the drive like a film. Read the route on the map, the speed and elevation on
scrubable charts, and add the photos you took on the way.
THE PEOPLE WHO WERE THERE
Invite the companions who rode with you — the trip becomes shared, their photos land
on it, and it appears in their history too. Publish a trip and it joins the feed,
where it can collect reactions and a discussion.
YOUR MAP
Every road you have driven, on one map, with your regions and your numbers behind it.
GARAGE
Several cars, each with its own mileage, level and history.
YOURS FIRST
Everything works offline and without an account. Sign in with Apple only if you want
cloud sync and the social side; your trips stay private until you publish them
yourself, and the account can be deleted from inside the app at any time.
Optional PRO subscriptions (monthly/yearly) unlock the same cosmetics and manual trips. Annual: 7 days free for eligible new subscribers; monthly: no trial. Local prices appear in-app before payment. Renews automatically until cancelled. Manage or cancel in Apple Account settings.

more Me is now a road journal. Put your own photo on the profile cover, with your car standing on its edge. Trips are grouped by month with distance and regions, routes you drive again and again, like home to work, fold into one row, and pinned trips come first.
Garage: your car stands on its own platform, and each car has a page with mileage by year, the places it has been and photos from its trips. Pick the model from the catalog.
Other people's profiles now open all the way: achievements, level, stats and a map that responds to taps like the Atlas. Stats has a new screen.
Fixed: the app no longer signs you out on a weak network, no longer crashes when opening car photos and no longer freezes at the end of a long trip.
0.9.1 2d ago
Regions now cover the whole world — 211 countries and more than 4,000 regions, named in your language. Drives in Germany, France, the US and everywhere else finally count by region.
Adding a past trip (PRO) is now the trip itself: type From → To with suggestions from your home, frequent places and recent trips, then see the map, distance and time before you save. Trips added by hand no longer show as a grey dashed line.
Other people's maps open faster and no longer heat the phone on big libraries. The Me card is lighter, and your PRO look stays with you on a new phone and when the PRO badge is hidden.
0.9.0 Oct 15
Long trips no longer freeze the app. Saving and uploading a recording of many hours used to stall the screen for seconds; both are now much faster.
Trips added on our website arrive on your iPhone as hand-entered: the kilometres count towards your statistics and your car's odometer, not towards XP or badges. The full route downloads the first time you open the trip.
We went through every screen and made the text say exactly what the app does — about auto-record, photos, privacy, PRO and deleting your account. Plus a crash fix on the new-badge screen.
A refreshed Me tab, clearer profile settings and a redesigned PRO screen. Trip totals are easier to read, personal details and appearance settings are grouped, and you can preview your look before choosing a plan. Improved layouts for larger text and reduced motion.
You can now help improve TripTrack with optional usage counters in Settings → Privacy. This is off by default and does not send routes, coordinates, photos or notes. Turning it off requests deletion of the counters.
If you have PRO, the subscription row in Me now opens a "Your PRO" screen: when the next charge is and how much, what you have, and a link to manage the subscription in the App Store.
0.8.9 Oct 13
Fixed an issue that could prevent the recording slider from responding.
0.8.6 Oct 8
Live Activity now has a compact recording summary with readable text in both light and dark appearance.
The similar-trip count now uses your saved history, including trips restored from the cloud.
Recording, the atlas and statistics remain free. PRO is unchanged.
0.8.5 Oct 7
PRO — AND TRIPTRACK STAYS FREE
Everything you have today stays free: recording, the atlas, places, journeys,
photos, statistics. PRO adds extras, not essentials — nothing you already use
moved behind it.
MAKE IT YOURS
Eight backgrounds for your profile, six frames for your avatar, eight styles
for your vehicle card, and styles for the route line on your trips. A PRO mark
next to your name if you want one — and off if you don't.
TRIPS FROM BEFORE
Add a drive you made before you had the app: say where you went, pick the day,
and the route is drawn along real roads. It counts toward your distance, your
atlas and your garage. It does not count toward XP, levels or badges — those
stay for what the app recorded itself.
TIPS
If you just want to support the work, you can leave a tip. No subscription,
nothing to unlock, nothing expected in return.
Eligible new subscribers get a 7-day free trial on the yearly plan. The
monthly plan has no free trial. The price is shown before you pay, and you
can cancel any time. PRO is not available in every region.
0.8.4 Oct 6
A TRACK WITHOUT GAPS
An evening city, a tunnel, an underground car park — a weak signal used to
break the route into separate pieces. Now a rougher fix still draws the shape
of the road, and a gap that remains is filled in along real roads and shown as
a grey dashed line. Your distance does not change: only good fixes count
towards it.
REMINDERS NOW ASK
In "Reminders" mode the app no longer decides for you. It saves a draft and
asks "Is this yours?" — on the trip itself, in the summary, in the "Me" tab,
and in a notification if you did not answer straight away. An unconfirmed
draft stays out of the Atlas and out of your statistics.
A NEW LOOK — STILL IN BETA
The Atlas and Places are redrawn: a light paper map, period filters, your
places as pins on it, search and sorting in the list. Both tabs carry a "Beta"
chip — they are still being worked on, and the chip says so.
A NEW ICON
FIXED
• Opening someone else's trip from the feed no longer freezes the app
• Your level no longer resets to 1 while syncing
• Opening a journey from a trip and coming back no longer leaves a black
rectangle where the map was
• Tapping a region on the Atlas moves the camera to it, not to the whole world
0.8.1 Sep 26
ATLAS
The Atlas is smooth now: pinch, zoom and pan run without stutter, reloading or
squares at any scale. The fog is even, the edge of an opened road is soft, and
the picture you share matches what you see on screen.
PLACES
Places now suggests spots you seem to visit, guessed from where your trips
start and end — save one with a tap, right from the map where all the
suggestions show up together.
EXPORT
Export your own trip as GPX or CSV from its ••• menu — free, no subscription
needed.
FIXED
The first launch after updating no longer freezes. The Apple Maps attribution
on the Atlas no longer looks like a bright plate. Car photos sync again.
0.8.0 Sep 24
THE ATLAS
The Map tab is now the Atlas, and the world on it starts closed. Solid fog, and
your own roads burned through it as
a living map: streets, names, the sea. Everything you have ever recorded is in
there from the first launch; the app rebuilds it in the background. The sheet
says how much you have opened, and "1,910 km opened" is the length of the
opened corridors rather than the sum of your trips — the hundredth drive down
your own street opens nothing.
FINDS
After a trip ends, the phone reads the recorded track and tells you what you
drove past: authored secrets, riddles built from open data (a lighthouse, a pass,
a ferry, a dam, a border post) and milestones of your own
geography — a first region, your easternmost point, high in the mountains,
below sea level, three regions in one day, a border, a pass at night. Each one
puts a seal on the Atlas. Nothing is computed and nothing is shown while you
are driving: chasing a find belongs off the road.
THE EXPLORER'S JOURNAL
Pull the Atlas sheet up and it holds how much you have opened and the regions
with the date you first entered them, plus all your seals in one grid. Tap a
seal for its card: the story of a secret with "found by N, first
was ..."; the line and the circle of a riddle; the place and the date of a
milestone.
The trip summary gained an "Opened" block — "42 km of new road · 1 riddle · 1
milestone" — and the fog burns off the trip's own map along the road you have
just driven. Your finds also show in your public profile under the
achievements, each with a word for how rare it is, behind the same visibility
switch. And "Share the Atlas" now hands over a picture of your map: the same
fog, the same corridors, your seals. What you have not found is not on it.
0.7.0 Sep 19
PLACES
Mark a spot during a trip and the app remembers it. Every later drive that
passes within about 100 m counts as a pass, so the place knows "Here 4 times"
and "usually 2:14 from the start". The new Places tab holds them all: a map of
pins and a card per place; inside, the threads of your passes, the best and the
worst one, and every pass as a row that opens the trip right at that
checkpoint. On the trip screen each checkpoint now carries a chip with the same
numbers. Places are worked out on the phone and never leave it.
A JOURNEY CAN BE PUBLISHED
The publish sheet lists the private trips inside by name, so you see exactly
what opens together with it. After that the journey has its own screen for
other people, a card in your public profile and a link trip-track.app/j/…, and
a trip that belongs to it shows "Part of …" in the feed, with a way inside.
Hiding works the same way: the journey disappears from other people's feeds and
profiles, and the trips inside stay exactly as they are.
LEGS
Two checkpoints of one trip make a leg with its own name, time and distance —
"from the gas station to the pass". Once both ends have become places, the
leg also shows your own history: "You drove this leg 3 times: 4:58 · 5:12 ·
5:31".
CHANGED
The Groups tab is now Places; clubs did not go anywhere — they moved into the
profile, under the garage. The floating tab bar no longer sits on the home
indicator.
0.6.8 Sep 15
MILES, FOR REAL
Pick miles and the whole app switches: distances, speed, elevation in feet,
fuel economy. Until now the choice only changed the labels — the numbers stayed
metric.
YOUR CAR'S DASHBOARD HAS ITS OWN UNITS
An import with a miles odometer in a metric country, or a Toyota with
kilometres while you think in miles — both are normal. The car's passport now
has a "Dashboard units" row, and it governs exactly three things: the odometer
you type in, the odometer you read, and fuel. Everything else stays in yours.
A CAR ON THE MAP, DRAWN PROPERLY
Replay now shows a car seen from above that turns to face the way you were
going, painted in that car's colour. The old one was a side view and could only
flip left or right — heading north, it drove sideways. It also fades out into a
dot when you zoom far out, instead of covering a hundred kilometres of route.
FIXED
A photo added on the finish screen lost its capture time and place, so it never
landed on the map. Replay no longer tears while you pinch the map. Crash
reports are on for the first time.
0.6.7 Sep 12
ONE STORY, NOT FOUR RECORDINGS
Krasnodar → Vladikavkaz → Tbilisi and back is four recordings and one story.
Now they hold together: open a trip and tap "Combine into a journey", or press
and hold its card in "Mine". Either way the same sheet opens — the neighbouring
drives laid out day by day, and the ones that join up, where one ends and the
next begins, already ticked. A tap corrects it, and the total at the bottom
follows along.
THE JOURNEY SCREEN
One map with every leg on it, and the checkpoints of each leg still in place.
Below it the total — days, kilometres, drives, time on the road — and then the
road day by day: legs with their checkpoints and photos, with the local drives
around your destination folded into a single line.
IN "MINE" — ONE CARD
The legs stop crowding the list: they tuck under one journey card carrying the
map of the whole route. Everywhere else they stay exactly where they were.
IT NOTICES BY ITSELF
Slept somewhere other than home and drove back? The app offers to combine those
drives. A night away is what makes a journey — not distance — so a long daily
commute never counts. Home is worked out on the phone from your own trips and
asked about once: "Is this your home?"
NOTHING IS COPIED
A journey is a window of dates over trips you already have. Delete it and every
trip stays exactly where it was.
0.6.6 Sep 10
HOW LONG TO THE SEA?
Mark points on a drive and see how long — and how far — it took to reach them.
Tap the flag on the Lock Screen while you drive; no need to pick up the phone.
On a recorded trip, tap the route on the full-screen map. Each checkpoint
shows time from the start and the leg from the previous one, and names itself
after the place: "Dzhubga · 1:30". Drove the same road there and back? You
choose which pass you meant.
PHOTOS LAND ON THE ROUTE
Take a photo on the way and it appears on the map right where you took it —
as the photo, with a caption. Nothing to arrange by hand.
THE TRACK SHOWS WHAT HAPPENED
Turns, loops, U-turns and courtyard manoeuvres, without cut corners. The
odometer has not changed by a metre — that is covered by tests, not promises.
PAUSE MEANS PAUSE
A stop at a shop no longer splits a trip in two. Reminder mode now asks and
waits instead of ending the trip on its own. Long drives also run cooler.
MOMENTS
Every trip now tells its road in order: start, checkpoints with the photos taken there, finish — with the time of day on the left and "from start" under each. Tap a checkpoint on the map and the page scrolls to it; the replay pauses at every checkpoint for a moment.
0.6.5 Sep 9
YOUR CAR NOW HAS A PASSPORT
The garage used to be a list of names. Open a vehicle now and you get its
biography: make, model and year, its plate, its level, and three numbers that
matter — trips, regions, days on the road. Below them, a map of everywhere that
car has been, its own records, and its trips as a screen of their own.
Add photos: the pinned one becomes the car's face, in your garage and in
anyone else's view of it. With Cloud Sync on they are backed up and come back on a new phone; with it off they never leave the device.
I'M A PASSENGER
Taxi, bus, someone else's car — say so before you start recording, in one tap.
The kilometres count toward your statistics and stay off your car's odometer.
It used to be something you could only fix afterwards.
YOUR DEFAULT CAR, AND THE ONES YOU SOLD
One car in your garage is the default — the one your next trip is recorded onto,
and one tap changes it. Sold a car? Mark it sold: nothing records onto it any
more — not the trip you start, not Bluetooth auto-record, not a Shortcut.
Everything already recorded stays with it, and it stays in your garage in plain
sight.
YOU DECIDE WHAT OTHERS SEE
Each vehicle has four switches: the car itself, its map, its photos, its plate.
All of them are enforced on the server, so what you hide never reaches anyone
else's phone. Route maps for cars you already owned start switched OFF — a car's
map is, in effect, where its owner lives, and that is not something to turn on
for you.
FIXED
- After selling a car, the next trip was recorded onto it anyway.
- «Un-sell» never reached the server, so the sale came back.
- Connecting to a sold car's stereo made it active again, with no tap.
- Deleting your account left vehicle photos behind; erasing server data left
your garage public.
0.6.4 Sep 6
SEE WHERE SOMEONE HAS ACTUALLY BEEN
A profile used to be three numbers. Now it opens: their full statistics — the
monthly rhythm, the records board, the new places they reached — and a map of
every route they made public.
Both are the same screens you have for yourself, drawn with their drives
instead of yours. The map says «public routes» under its title, because the
counters on a profile still count everything, private trips included, and the
map can only ever draw what was published.
YOU DECIDE WHAT SHOWS
A new «What others see» section in Privacy has four switches: basic counters,
full statistics, map, achievements. Everything starts on — nothing about your
profile changed the day you updated — and anything you switch off simply is
not there for other people. No «hidden» placeholder, and the data does not
leave the server at all.
0.6.3 Sep 3
PICK WHAT YOU DRIVE
The garage used to hold one car in eight colours. Now it holds ten shapes:
saloon, hatchback, crossover, pickup, van, convertible, sports car, motorcycle,
scooter and bicycle — each in nine colours. Shape and colour are picked
separately, so the combination is yours.
Motorcycles, mopeds and bicycles finally look like themselves. The app has
offered those types for a while and drew all three as a car.
Your vehicle now rides along on the trip card, so you can see what you took
without opening anything.
YOUR OWN HISTORY, READ BACK
Your trips no longer introduce you to yourself: the name and avatar are gone
from your own cards — you know who you are. The level stayed, and it is now the
level you were at the time. A drive from two years ago says LVL 3 and yesterday
says LVL 9, so scrolling your history shows the distance you covered.
DRAWN, NOT BORROWED
Every empty screen, every error and every onboarding page now has a picture
drawn for this app instead of a system glyph. Lists load as an outline of the
list rather than a spinner, so the screen you are waiting for is the screen you
already see.
FIXED
A dropped connection at the start of a drive could sign you out overnight and
leave the finished trip stranded on the phone. The app now repairs its session
on its own — and if it truly can't, it keeps your trips, your name and your
settings, and simply asks you to sign in again. Nothing is wiped.
Vehicle mileage is now worked out from your trips instead of counted up once.
Moving a trip to another vehicle, deleting a trip or restoring your library
from the server used to leave the number where it was.
Your car in the garage is sharp again — it was the one place in the app that
smoothed the pixels.
0.6.2 Sep 1
TripTrack now speaks eleven more languages. Thirteen in total: English,
Russian, German, Spanish, French, Italian, Polish, Turkish, Indonesian,
Ukrainian, Brazilian Portuguese, Kazakh and Filipino.
Everything is translated — screens, empty states, errors, notifications, all 53
achievements, and the card on your lock screen. Pick yours in Settings →
Language. On a fresh install the app follows your phone's language list, so it
usually picks the right one by itself.
Dates, numbers and units follow the language you chose, and counted words get
their plural right in every one of the thirteen — including the awkward ones.
YOUR TRIPS COME BACK
If your library ever went missing, this version goes and finds it. When the app
notices your phone is holding fewer trips than your account actually has, it
fetches the rest — once, by itself, without you having to ask.
And it can no longer lose them that way again. The app used to replace a
database it failed to open with an empty one, silently, even when the failure
was momentary. Now it never discards your data: it says what happened, tries
again, and keeps the old file whatever you decide.
Levels, achievements and your map of visited roads rebuild themselves once the
trips are home.
Also fixed: the "Public profile" switch no longer vanishes when the server is
slow to answer, and the button that sends logs sits above the journal instead
of underneath a week of it.
0.6.1 Aug 17
The biggest update since launch. TripTrack was redrawn end to end, and a trip is no
longer something only you can see.
COMPANIONS
Invite the people who were in the car. A trip becomes shared: their photos land on
it, it shows up in their history too, and nobody has to re-record the same road.
DISCUSSIONS
Comments with replies on public trips, reactions with a "who reacted" list, and
notifications that take you to the exact message.
THE TRIP ITSELF
Replay a drive like a film. Share it as a story poster or a link. A rewritten photo
viewer, scrubable speed and elevation charts, and a map that finally gets out of the
way.
FIVE TABS
Feed, Map, Record, Groups, Me. Your own map of everywhere you've driven, a calmer
recording screen, and a profile with achievements, levels and a "how others see you"
preview.
FEED THAT MAKES SENSE
"All" is now strictly by date — newest drives first, whoever they belong to. Follow
people and "For you" keeps them together.
CLUBS — COMING
A preview of what clubs will be, and a real waiting list you can join.
PRIVACY
Delete your account from inside the app: it removes everything on the server and
everything on this device, and says so before it does. All visibility switches —
public profile, trips on the global map, who can add you as a companion — now live
on one screen.
0.6.0 Aug 15
Hotfix based on your feedback:
• Smoother map while recording — the route line no longer flickers
• The speedometer now correctly shows 0 when you stop (no more "stuck" readings at red lights)
• Fixed a launch hang on the "Ready to drive" screen
• Your trip feed now loads instantly — no manual pull-to-refresh needed
• Trip notes are now easy to find and add
• Photos upload in full quality on any network, not just Wi-Fi
• New: opt in to show your public trips on the globe on our website (in Profile, off by default)
Thanks for all the feedback — it genuinely helps!
0.5.8 Jun 16
A feedback-driven update + long-trip reliability:
• Rock-solid tracking in remote / no-signal areas — your route no longer drops under heavy tree cover or in the wild (it used to show "0 km")
• A drive interrupted mid-route resumes as one track; Live Activity stays alive on multi-day trips
• Change the vehicle on an already-saved trip; active recording shows which car you're driving for
• Siri & Shortcuts start with the car you actually picked — no more always-first-vehicle
• Speed legend on the map — see which route colour maps to which speed
• Trip notes — jot down road conditions, detours, fuel stops
• No more random sign-outs on flaky networks
• Logged-out "Share" prompts sign-in and resumes the action
• Night/morning badges count any trip that overlaps the window, not just its start hour
• Choose how average speed is measured (overall / moving-only); double-tap to zoom trip photos
• "Regions" → "Places", the feed's "Mine" → "Trips"; clearer stats calendar
• Faster cloud sync, fewer hitches
0.5.7 Jun 14
Reliability fixes:
• Auto-detect in Remind mode no longer ends a trip mid-drive on momentary Bluetooth glitches. You'll get a prompt with 3 minutes to confirm, never a silent stop.
• Account stays signed in over long gaps between trips. No more sign-outs after a few weeks away.
• Detailed diagnostic logs available in Settings → Export logs — if anything goes wrong, you can send me the file and I can reconstruct exactly what happened.
0.5.6 May 23
• Redesigned onboarding — three pages with a live demo trip card
• Stats screen reworked — week, month, year, all-time in one clean grid
• Seven new secret achievements — find them on the road
• Smarter rating prompt — no more popping up at bad moments
• "Last active" indicator on profiles
• A pile of small fixes from your feedback
0.5.5 May 16
Tap ▶ on any trip's map to watch the route play back — a glowing trail draws across the map with a pixel-car riding it, paced by the speeds you actually drove. Slow in traffic, fast on the highway.
Reactions get more expressive: join the road-themed lineup, and each tap fires a satisfying burst.
Broader avatar lineup — sixteen new personas for your driver profile.
Quieter improvements under the hood: the feed loads more reliably on slow networks, the publish dialog now spells out exactly what reaches the server when Cloud Sync is off, and the public profile renders cleanly for accounts that haven't shared a trip yet.
0.5.4 May 11
Trip detail now shows Driving Time and Stopped Time separately — see at a glance how much of your trip was actually moving versus sitting in traffic or at lights.
Cleaner public profile for drivers who keep their trips private — no more confusing zeros when an active account chooses not to share.
0.5.2 May 7
Quick vehicle picker on the start screen — switch cars in one tap, no more digging through Settings.
New "Start Trip" shortcut for the Shortcuts app. Pair it with a Personal Automation like "When CarPlay connects" and TripTrack starts recording on its own — even when CarPlay is on Wi-Fi or USB and Bluetooth doesn't fire.
0.5.1 May 6
Me is now a road journal.
