Word First is first and foremost a deep Bible devotional. App blocking remains entirely optional. This update introduces a refined Modern interface while keeping the familiar Classic look available. Reading, Saved, and Companions actions are now easier to find and use, with calmer confirmations and improved large-text and keyboard behavior. For those who choose to enable focus protection, blocked apps now show one Scripture passage each day, with clearer Return to Home and temporary-unlock guidance. The redesigned Manage Apps screen also explains your privacy before Apple’s private picker opens. The complete devotional, prayer, study, memorization, journal, sharing, and Companions experience remains available without app blocking. A new Library — browse the full catalog. Tap the Library tab to search every reading, filter by topic (Anxiety, Grief, Hope, Prayer, and 23 more), or pick whichever one fits where you are today. Any reading you complete counts as your daily reading and unlocks your apps — not just the curated pick. Saved is now inside Library. Verses you've hearted and readings you've bookmarked live in the Saved sub-mode. Same content, gathered with the rest. Share a reading. Tap the menu in any reading to share a link a friend can read in their browser or — if they have Word First — open directly in the app. Modern English chapter context. When you tap a verse reference to see surrounding chapter, it now reads in modern contemporary English instead of jumping back to 1611 phrasing.
