rozeta: AI Lecture Notes
Write, Record & Transcribe
Free · In‑App Purchases
rozeta is an AI lecture notes app for college students.
Write while you record, and rozeta creates transcripts, explanations, translations and quizzes.
■ Handwriting and recording, linked page by page
Import your lecture slides as a PDF file and write on each page while you record.
When the slide changes, tap the Mark button. The recording so far is linked to that page, and your note moves to the next page. When you review, tap a page to hear the explanation from that point.
■ Speech recognition that gets technical terms right
Lectures that mix Korean and English are transcribed exactly as your professor said them.
- Terms spoken in Korean are written in Korean with the English in parentheses, and terms spoken in English stay in English.
- Formulas, symbols and units use standard notation.
- Add technical terms or proper nouns under Vocabulary, and they're transcribed just as you wrote them.
■ AI explanations built on what your professor said
Explanations don't rely on the slides alone. They're based on what your professor explained and emphasized in class, and they take the handwriting on each page into account.
You can also create an overview that puts a whole lecture into one document.
■ AI quizzes made from your class
Questions come from what was covered in class. Take a quiz before the exam, and replay the part of the lecture behind any question you missed.
A cumulative quiz combines several lectures so you can check everything on the exam at once.
■ Lectures in another language, translated
Whatever language the class is in, transcripts can be translated.
Translations and AI explanations are available in Korean, English, Japanese, Chinese, Spanish, French and German.
■ Premium handwriting
Your Apple Pencil's pressure comes through with no lag. You get pens, highlighters, shapes, the lasso and text, plus 8 paper types.
■ Pick up on any device
Notes and recordings are saved to the cloud. Open them on iPad, iPhone or the web, and playback picks up where you left off.

• Better AI explanations and overviews that call out what your professor emphasized or mentioned for the exam.

• Rotate text boxes, undo a split, and more.
• Equations and tables in AI explanations and summaries now display correctly, plus bug fixes.
2.6.0 Oct 13
• Timestamps: Tap the clock while recording to save the moment.
• Bookmarks: Bookmark pages you want to come back to.
• On tablets, a preview opens next to the recording list.
• Undo in segment editing, renaming and reordering courses, and more.
• More reliable sync and bug fixes.
2.5.0 Oct 9
• Added handwriting directly on the recording screen. The slide for the segment you are listening to opens as you go.
• Added note attachment for recordings made without one.
• Redesigned the player bar. Segments appear as blocks, and dragging previews a thumbnail of that segment.
• Added 1.75x playback speed, and the app now remembers your last choice.
• Added a Save button to segment editing.
• Added English UI support, selectable from the language menu in Settings.
• Fixed handwriting loss when the same page was edited on multiple devices.
• Redesigned the subscription screen and added standalone AI credit purchases.
• Fixed Korean text not displaying in some PDFs, incorrect duration for imported recordings, and various other bugs.
2.4.0 Sep 29
• Notes are much faster and smoother throughout. Page grids, note lists, and the transcript list in a recording were rebuilt from the way they draw up.
• Jumping to the current segment is instant, even in long transcripts. Nothing to wait for with thousands of sentences.
• Flipping pages left and right no longer makes you wait. The next page is there immediately, and you can keep writing mid-flip.
• Keep several notes open and switch between them from the tab strip in the app bar. Tap the count to see every open note, or close one without opening it.
• A Recent Notes shelf was added to the home screen. Notes you were just in,
across subjects, line up as covers you can swipe through.
• Sort a subject's note list — four orders, including most recent and title.
• Sidebar navigation on tablets was tidied up. Tapping an item moves you sideways to that destination instead of stacking up back steps.
• Bring a PDF in from another app as a note.
• When something goes wrong, the error details now reach us automatically so it can be fixed sooner.
• Tightened up edge spacing that was off in places on tablets.
• Fixed text boxes not finding their place when you turned the page, along
with various other bugs.
2.3.0 Sep 23
• AI quizzes were rebuilt. Make several sets from one lecture, add questions
to a set, or regenerate it — and pick which segments a set draws from.
• Every question now shows where it came from. Tap the chip with the note,
page, and timestamp to hear that moment again, and questions you skip with
"I don't know" come back for review later.
• Each subject has an AI Quiz hub. Retry just the questions you got wrong, or
build a comprehensive quiz spanning several lectures.
• Short-answer marking is more forgiving. Spacing and spelling variants count
as correct, and borderline answers get a second look from AI.
• A timetable was added. Enter class times, rooms, and instructors per subject
to see your week at a glance, get a "class now" row on the home screen, and
be reminded before class starts.
• Notes can scroll continuously up and down. Choose page-flipping or scrolling
in Settings.
• Notes open much faster. They now open from your local copy first and verify
afterwards, with page images and thumbnails kept on hand.
• Squeeze or double-tap Apple Pencil Pro to fan the tool palette out at the
pen tip. You can change what each gesture does in Settings.
• Lasso copy and paste now use the system clipboard, so you can paste a
selection into another app and bring images or text from other apps into a
note. Long-press an empty spot with the lasso to get a Paste button.
• Share a PDF from another app to open it straight into a new note — or into
your recording if one is running.
• AI explanations now include a lecture overview, mark anything not on the
slides, and take your own handwriting into account.
• Fixed transcription failing when you started it before the audio finished
uploading.
• Fixed handwriting being covered by another page's ink, along with various
other bugs.
2.2.0 Sep 17
• Choose paper when you create a note. Eight kinds — blank, ruled, grid,
dotted, two-column, three-column, Cornell, and Cornell II — each with three
line spacings. The paper you pick carries through from the writing screen to
the cover and exported PDFs.
• The note list is now a cover grid. The actual first page sits inside a fixed
box at its own aspect ratio, so notes are easy to tell apart at a glance.
• Duplicate a note from the more menu — the copy lands in the same subject with
"copy" added to its title.
• Colour quick slots went from three to six, folding back to three when the
screen is narrow.
• Double-tap with two fingers to undo.
• Optionally snap back to your previous tool after erasing (turn it on in
Settings).
• The session palette fades while you write — it disappears as the pen lands
and returns when you lift it.
• Opening a note during a recording now uses an Open Note panel. Pick from the
cover grid, and switch subjects to reach notes elsewhere.
• Slide records were reorganized: bigger thumbnails, segment editing in its own
view, merging into the previous segment, and swipe-to-delete.
• Turning a page by hand while recording now tells you the page turn won't be
timestamped.
• Pick your transcription model. Whisper Large v3 has been added alongside
Rozeta STT.
• Fixed lists filling in from zero when you entered a subject. The notes tab
also supports pull to refresh.
• Fixed update notices taking up to six hours to reach the app.
• Fixed confirmation dialogs opened from a sheet not appearing, along with
various other bugs.
2.1.3 Sep 4
• Home and subject screens were rebuilt. Recent lectures now sit in one list ordered by activity, anything you left unfinished rises to the top with a progress bar, and you can switch semesters right from the header.
• A subject's recordings are now a single date-ordered list. Note titles show in full instead of being cut off, and you can start recording straight from the list.
• Settings were tidied up. Profile, subscription, and usage now live together under My Account, with your monthly usage and purchased credits shown separately.
• A new lasso. Select handwriting, text, and images together, then move or resize them as a group — with duplicate, cut, and paste. Images come along when you paste into another note.
• Undo now survives turning the page.
• The app opens without a connection. You stay signed in, your semesters and subjects appear from what's saved, and you can still get into your notes.
• "Open note" in a recording now opens the page you were on.
• Segment records and references were reorganized — segment times sit in a strip along the bottom, and slide records now open from a sheet.
• Guidance for your first recording now appears right on that screen.
• Fixed handwriting going missing or reverting when the same note was edited on more than one device.
• Fixed subscriptions showing as Free while offline, along with various other bugs.
2.1.2 Sep 1
- The note screen has been rebuilt. Drawing tools now live on a vertical rail at the left and recording status and playback controls sit in a strip along the top, so nothing covers your page while you write.
- Section markers, references and memos are gathered into a vertical palette beside the page. It shows the current section number and elapsed time, and can be folded away on phones.
- The toolbar at the bottom of the phone screen now uses the full width. On wider screens colours and pen sizes are laid out directly instead of being tucked away, and the buttons grow.
- The AI creation screen now reads like an order form. It states in one line what will be made from what, and shows the credits it will use next to the credits you have before you start. If you are short, it tells you by how much and where to top up, right there.
- You can choose the language when generating subtitles. Leave it alone and it is detected automatically.
- Subtitle accuracy has improved. Runs of falsely repeated text are filtered out, and terms you saved in your glossary are applied consistently throughout.
- 'AI lecture analysis' is now called 'AI commentary', and 'term hints' is now 'glossary'.
- Credits are now a flat rate per feature. You see the exact cost before you create, and credits held for a job that fails are returned.
- The precise model is now chosen only for AI commentary. Subtitles, translation and quizzes are always generated the same way.
- The full summary opens straight from the header of the AI commentary card. It appears dimmed until you have made one.
- The in-app guide has been rewritten. It splits into recording and reviewing, and each chapter shows the screen it teaches as a live, scaled-down replica.
- Fixed the AI button on the recording detail screen being pushed off-screen on tablets.
- Fixed the note toolbar sitting flush against the bottom edge on Galaxy phones and home-button iPhones, and the status card being hidden behind the navigation bar while a recording is being prepared.
2.1.1 Aug 27
• Draw shapes — drag out a line, arrow, rectangle, ellipse, or triangle. Pause mid-stroke and what you just drew snaps into a clean shape.
• Export notes as PDF or images. Pick this page, every page, or just the ones you choose, and toggle handwriting, text, and images on or off.
• Crop inserted images. The original is left untouched, so you can undo it at any time.
• Pick the image tool and your recent photos appear right above the toolbar. Photos land in the middle of what you're looking at.
• Text editing was rebuilt — formatting now applies while you type in Korean, the caret stays inside the box when a line wraps, and you can set font size and line spacing.
• Wider pen thickness range, and the top half of the monoline slider now works.
• Notes open on the page you were last reading.
• Recordings pick up where you stopped listening, even if that was on another device.
• New logo, and a new app icon to match.
• Upgrading a plan now credits the time you haven't used and starts a fresh billing month that day. Upgrading from a gifted plan only charges the difference until the gift expires.
• Terms, privacy policy, and business information are now in Settings > About.
• Fixed accounts with payment history failing to delete.
• Fixed files sticking around after deleting notes or recordings, which made storage look larger than it was.
• Fixed the screen rotating to portrait when opening ink tool options in landscape, along with various other bugs.
2.1.0 Aug 24
• Start recording from anywhere — tap Record on the home screen, pick a subject, and you're recording.
• Long-press notes and recordings to select several at once, then move them to another subject or delete them together.
• Reset your password and resend the verification email right in the app.
• Top up AI credits without changing your plan.
• Recordings made without lecture slides now open straight into the transcript and AI analysis.
• Dark mode reworked — cards and floating elements now sit at the right
brightness, so lists and the top bar no longer glare, and the launch screen is dark too.
• Lists load much faster.
• "Current segment" now always jumps where it should, and the transcript follows playback smoothly.
• Sheets and dialogs were rebuilt so they open and move around the keyboard without stutter.
• Handwriting in a recording now looks exactly as it does in your notes — fountain-pen nibs, pressure-based thickness, colored-pencil grain, and highlighter overlap all match.
• Fixed handwriting disappearing or breaking up when you moved between devices. Most strokes that were already damaged come back on their own.
• Stroke thickness now follows measured pressure values, so strokes no longer come out too thin or too thick.
• Edits made on another device now come through. A note you've already opened keeps picking up handwriting, pages, and title changes.
• Fixed notes staying blank on a device when the lecture slides failed to download.
• Improved social sign-in — you may need to sign in again after updating.
• Fixed display issues with your name, subscription, and storage usage, along with various other bugs.
