New in 1.1.9: New features • Ongoing Plans: Create tasks that repeat, such as a vocabulary test every two weeks, and break them into steps. On the dashboard, “Coming Up” shows what's next. A tap on the circle checks off a step, the next date moves up, and during the holidays you can pause a plan. You can hide the section under Settings → Dashboard. Improvements • On the dashboard, the module tiles take center stage, with “Coming Up” as a calm list above them. • Grade entry stays above the keyboard while you type. “Clear” and “Apply” are now within reach even with a longer note. • The app starts quickly even without an internet connection. • If you work with an iPad and a Mac: changes from the other device appear in the open grade table on their own. New in 1.1.8: New features • Settings → Appearance now offers the option “New grade columns with today's date”. When it is on, every new grade column gets the current date right away. Improvements • Level scales such as E/TE/NE or “achieved / partly / not achieved”: when importing from CSV, each entry lands on the matching level and counts toward sections and the average. • When you open a grade for editing, the saved level is already selected. • The “Ordinal scale” option in the scale editor can be turned off again at any time. New in 1.1.6: New features • ClassTiles is ready for macOS 27 and iPadOS 27. Table header, toolbars and selection menus are adapted to the new design. • Grades on the iPad with an external keyboard: in the grade window you can now type digits and a comma, confirm with Return and jump to the next column with Tab. • Checklists: a new custom column starts right away with the states of your last custom column. Set it up once and you are done. Improvements • Direct cell entry on the Mac now fully accepts very fast typing. • On the Mac, windows and events open reliably right after launch, and Planning keeps the week you had chosen. • On macOS 27, the PDF import also reads digits that the system’s text recognition had left out. New in 1.1.5: • Class Tasks from a backup: boards come back even when iCloud had already deleted its copy. A notice tells you that earlier shares need to be granted again. • When importing a class list there is a “Create all as new” button. It takes every row with only similar matches at once and shows you the names first. • The PDF import separates names that had run together, and headings like “Class list 10a” no longer end up as a student row. • Fixed: in Manage student data, the filter for unassigned students got stuck when the last unassigned student was deleted. New in 1.1.4: • Direct cell entry on Mac: a click selects the cell, typing writes, Return moves down one row, Tab to the next column. The switch lives in Table options and is off at first. • Name prefixes now sort the same everywhere. “Mia van Dijk” appears under D in the grade table, the seating chart, the attendance list and the student database. • Fixed: “Clear” in the grade window now also clears the points on a points column. New in 1.1.3: • Students can now be added in a series: Return saves and keeps the dialog open for the next name, ⌘⏎ saves and closes. • Fixed: after a scale change, a points column kept grading new points on the old scale. The grading key now moves along, and the confirmation step says so. • On Mac, the buttons in the grade window are fully readable again. “Create new scale” during a scale change now opens as a proper Mac window there, too. • In the support profile, the semester line is translated in every language. New in 1.1.2: • Large grade tables scroll and zoom noticeably more smoothly on iPad. The zoom level stays where you left it when you switch tabs. • PDF import: when the full name sits in a single column, both parts now come through. A new button swaps first and last names across the whole list. • On Mac, the class overview no longer freezes while accessibility features or a window manager are running. • With letter-based scales, the Return key enters the grade; on Mac there is now “Clear” for removing it. • Fixed: a crash when a picker was tapped right after typing. Columns as checkmarks, counters, or with your own states (2–6 symbols or short texts; you choose what counts as completed). • The weekly plan now shows the planning status of each lesson. • The name column follows the selected display mode. • Also: column header menus now work reliably with the trackpad, and the student database loads more efficiently. This update speeds up everyday entry and opens the seating plan for hands-on work: • Quick entry is new: with it switched on, tapping a word or emoji enters the value straight away and moves to the next person. Attendance or homework becomes one tap per child. It stays off until you turn it on. • You now decide which suggestions the quick picker offers; you can edit them, delete them and return to the original words whenever you like. • In the seating plan you fill empty seats directly. Tap an empty seat and pick a person from the list. Occupied seats can be cleared again, and someone you move may now land on an empty seat too. • On the Mac you get the same emoji grid as on iPad. With word-based scales such as 1–6 ±, the quick picker, emojis and the note field are back. • When you make a backup, the note about where your backups live now sits right below the buttons, and you can export or share a fresh backup straight away. This update is about names — above all in classes where students are listed by first name only: • Rows without a last name can now be imported from CSV and PDF, not just added via “Add individually”. • Identical names are easier to tell apart: matches from other classes are asked about one by one, and “Mark as different” can now be answered for groups of more than two entries. • Classes carry a school year, chosen when the class is created, which keeps classes of the same name apart in menus and exports. • “No.” now always means the same position in the list that the grade table shows. • Deleting a single event out of a series keeps the planning for exactly that event — the other events of the series keep their own. The warning beforehand now also appears when the planning consists of notes only. • Smaller fixes to name sorting, to the file names of the student data report, and to the line numbers in the CSV import. This update improves two things: • Class Tasks now opens straight to the create screen when there are no boards yet — including when iCloud sync is turned off. • The student data report (JSON and PDF) now also includes the calculated section grades, written exactly as in the tab export. This update brings more privacy when you switch apps, complete exports and a calmer everyday feel: • On iPad and iPhone, the card in the app switcher shows the start screen instead of your class data. • Exports contain the full tab structure, even when sections are collapsed; exporting all tabs gives every tab its own uniquely named Excel sheet. • Grade entry on iPad makes room for the on-screen keyboard — "Clear" and "Apply" stay within reach. • In your list of backups, restoring starts from a labeled button in the row. • Students restored from the trash return to their previous position in the list. • A student's record shows exactly the values from the grade table, and can be shared as a PDF even before any documentation has been added. • Also: distinguishable candidates when merging duplicate entries, weighting shown only where it takes effect, correct singular and plural in messages, plus the version and build number in Settings. This update is about correct numbers and honest wording: • Grades with a tendency (15-, 3+) now count everywhere — in statistics, in a student's record and in every PDF report. • Delete dialogs name the trash and the retention period you set yourself, instead of a blanket "permanent". • After "Create backup now" your list of backups stays complete. • Further improvements to backups on your own server. This update is about names, exports and backups: • Removing someone from a class now ends their membership only — the person stays in your student list. • Import assigns a name automatically only when it matches unambiguously.
