Identify rocks with AI. See what others are discovering around the world.
Tero is a rock identifier app for curious minds - whether you're on a hike, at the beach, or just found something interesting in your backyard.
SCAN & IDENTIFY WITH AI
Take a photo of any rock, mineral, gemstone, or fossil. Tero's on-device AI identifies it instantly - no internet needed. Get the top candidates with confidence levels, formation type, hardness, and more.
NARROW IT DOWN WITH A QUIZ
Not sure which candidate is right? Tero walks you through simple hands-on tests: scratch it with a coin, hold it to a flashlight, check if a magnet sticks. Each answer dynamically re-ranks the possibilities until you find your best match.
EXPLORE GEOLOGY ON THE MAP
Open the app and explore. Tap anywhere on the map to see what geological formations exist at that location - formation name, age, and what rocks you might find there. Browse rocks found in your city before you even step outside.
COMMUNITY DISCOVERIES
See what other rock enthusiasts are finding near you on the map. Share your own discoveries and contribute to a growing global map of finds. Tap any discovery pin to see the full identification.
BUILD YOUR COLLECTION
Save identified rocks to a personal collection. Track what you've found, where you found it, and build your own digital field notebook.
