Bonjour Maqami

Maqam Ear Training

Free · In‑App Purchases · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.

Hear the notes between the notes. Western ears are trained to skip them — but the soul of Arabic, Turkish, and Persian music lives in the quarter-tone. Bonjour Maqami is the first ear-training platform built to make those microtonal scales feel like second nature. Most music apps pretend the maqam doesn't exist. We built an entire curriculum around it. Whether you play Oud, Nay, Cello, or just want to truly hear this music, you'll go from guessing to knowing — one interval at a time. What you'll do: * Train your ear, daily — Bite-sized listening quizzes that sharpen your recognition of Maqams and Ajnas, note by note. * Hear it the way it's meant to be heard — High-fidelity samples that honor the real intonation of Arabic, Turkish, and Persian traditions. No flattening, no compromises. * Watch yourself level up — Start with basic recognition. Work your way to spotting complex modulations like a master. * Built for your instrument — Tailored practice for Oud, Nay, Cello, and the modern SWANA musician. This isn't just an app — it's a living reference for a tradition passed down by ear for centuries. Conservatory student or kitchen-table learner, your training starts now. Built with love by Taqsim Labs Inc. Download Bonjour Maqami and start listening deeper.
