Noto Scribe
AI Voice Notes & Transcripts
Free · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.
Write on a page from your phone: the blocks you reach for ride on the keyboard, and typing “/” still finds every one of them.
Turn your voice into knowledge.
Noto Scribe is the fastest way to capture ideas, lectures, interviews, and meetings — then turn those recordings into something useful. One tap to record. AI does the rest.
KEY FEATURES
• One-Tap Recording
Hit record and start talking. No setup, no fuss. Pause, resume, and jot notes inline.
• Spaces — Organize Naturally
Group recordings into Spaces for lectures, interviews, projects, or personal notes. Each Space builds its own knowledge base over time.
• AI-Generated Knowledge Base
Every recording is automatically transcribed and distilled — overviews, key people, decisions, and topics surface without you lifting a finger.
• Ask Anything
Search across an entire Space in plain English. Get answers with citations pointing back to the exact recording, so you can verify or dive deeper.
• Save to Knowledge Base
Found something useful in an answer? Save it back to the Space's KB or send it to your favorite LLM for further work.
• Light, Dark & System Themes
Looks great any time of day. Themes match your device automatically.
• Privacy First
Your recordings stay yours. Sign in with Google or email. No tracking, no ads.
WHO IT'S FOR

• Journalists capturing interviews on the go
• Founders & PMs running back-to-back calls
• Researchers building reference libraries
• Anyone who thinks faster than they type
WHY NOTO SCRIBE
Most voice recorders are dumb buckets — you record, then forget. Noto Scribe is different. Every recording gets transcribed, organized, and indexed. Months later, ask "what did we decide about pricing?" and get a real answer with the exact quote.
Stop losing ideas. Start building knowledge.
Download Noto Scribe and turn every conversation into something searchable.
more Pages
• While the keyboard is up on a page, a bar sits above it with the blocks you reach for most: headings, bullet and numbered lists, to-dos, toggles, quotes, code, a divider and images. One tap puts the block where you are typing.
• Tap the grid on the bar for a taller panel listing every block by name, or type “/” to filter that list, the same way the web does.
• The bar has its own button to put the keyboard away.
Everywhere
• Fixes and polish.

Spaces and Home
• Your spaces are cards. Each opens its own page with General, subspaces and Pages, and pages open right in the app.
• Pick a space on Home and record into it. Its card shows the recording time left.
• A bell for mentions, replies, missed huddles and team invites, with Clear all.
• Rename a space or change its icon, and invite people by @username.
Chat and DMs
• The Chat tab is now DMs, with New message to start one and Clear chat in a 1:1.
• Pinch to zoom pictures.
Notes and recording
• Tap a note to edit it on the page, with a formatting bar above the keyboard.
• A warning when the mic hears nothing, and a "Still recording?" check after ten quiet minutes.
Huddles and Meher
• Huddle links open in the app, and guests can join from one.
• Ask Meher from the Spaces tab to read every space you're in.
Everywhere
• Everyone picks an @username. Teams let you record on shared recording time.
• Settings is one simple list, and setup is three steps.
• Fixes and polish.
2.2.3 5d ago
Huddles
• Camera backgrounds: with your camera on, tap the picture button on your video to blur what's behind you, or put one of Noto's pictures or your own photo there. It's made on your phone, and your photo stays on it.
• Answer a huddle on another device and your phone stops ringing.
• Starting a huddle now rings the people in the space, or the other person in a DM.
• The mic and camera buttons always do what you tap, even when you tap quickly.
• Closing the huddle's chat no longer leaves the call squeezed into the top of the screen.
Notes
• A reading-first note screen: the note gets the whole screen, and the recording moves to Listen.
• Regenerate a note that came out wrong, and change the text size right on the page.
• Playback speed for screen recordings, copy the transcript from Listen, and close the mini player.
Spaces and chat
• Space chat, redesigned: one simple header, a menu on the space's name, and a message box that formats as you type.
• Everyone in a space can see who's in it.
• Calmer recording cards: press and hold one for Share, Move and more. Long lists get a back-to-top button.
Everywhere
• A new floating tab bar, with Liquid Glass on iOS 26.
• Fixes and polish, including chat filters that no longer get cut off.
2.2.2 Oct 9
Chat during huddles
Tap the new Chat button in a call to share notes, links and files with everyone in it. New messages show as a badge, and everything stays in the space's chat afterwards.
Clear roles in every space
Owners, admins, "Can record" and "Can read" members now each see exactly what they can do.
Never lose a recording
If a space can't accept a recording, it's kept safely on your iPhone under Pending uploads.
Also in this update
• Answering a huddle from the iPhone call screen now joins reliably.
• Notifications and huddle rings go to the phone you signed in on last.
• Share photos, videos, audio and documents into a space from other apps.
• Bigger buttons on the call screen and in a space's + menu.
• Members can now leave a space.
• Bug fixes and other improvements.
2.2.1 Oct 7
What's new in 2.2.0
• Chat with your team: every shared space now has a group chat, with GIFs, pinned and saved messages, and search. The new Chat tab brings all your conversations together.
• Huddles: start or join voice and video calls in your spaces. An invite rings your iPhone like a phone call, and comes as call waiting if you're already on a call. Switch between speaker, phone and Bluetooth during a call.
• Talk things through with Meher by voice, or give her photos and files to read.
• Notifications for new messages, mentions and huddle calls.
• Share to a space from any app: links, photos, videos, audio and documents.
• Search across all your spaces, including by voice.
• Edit notes with AI, generate titles, and add links, files and photos to a space.
• Leave shared spaces you no longer need, bigger buttons, and many fixes.
2.2.0 Oct 7
Live Translate
Follow a conversation in a language you don't read, as it happens. Start recording, tap Live, and the translation appears as it's spoken — with the original underneath, so you can always see what was actually said.
• 77 languages to translate into
• Tap Pause to hold the text still while you read, then pick up where the speaker is now. What came before stays — just scroll up
• If the spoken language is misheard, set it yourself and everything from there on is relabelled and re-translated
• Your recording keeps running the whole time, and your note still gets the full transcript, every word
Also in this release
• The live transcript no longer gives up on a connection that's working fine
• Recorder buttons stay labelled at every text size and screen width
2.1.1 Sep 19
Watch your screen recordings
Notes you recorded on the web with your screen shared now play right in the app. The video plays with its audio, chapters show a preview of each moment so you can jump straight to it, and the transcript highlights each line as it's spoken. Tap full screen for a bigger view.
Share with or without the screen recording
When a note has a screen recording, the share sheet lets you choose whether the link includes it. It starts off, because a screen recording shows everything that was on your screen.
Access levels for shared spaces
Choose what each person in a shared space can do:
• Admin access: record, edit and manage who has access
• Can record: record and make changes
• Can read: read everything, change nothing
Improvements
• NotoScribe now checks that you can save to a space before you start recording, so a recording is never lost to a permissions problem.
• Space settings now show owners and admins correctly.
2.0.2 Sep 15
PHOTOS WHILE YOU RECORD
Tap the camera mid-recording to capture a whiteboard, a slide, or a page from a document. Each photo uploads as you take it, so nothing waits at the end, and every one is kept with the recording and the moment it was taken.
SHARE A RECORDING WITH A LINK
Send anyone a link to a single recording — the note, the transcript and the audio, no account needed to open it. Share it from a space, from the recording itself, or in one tap on the screen you land on when a recording finishes. Revoke the link whenever you like.
NOTES IN YOUR LANGUAGE
Pick the language your notes are written in from Settings › General, from over 100 languages. Reading a note that isn't in yours? One tap shows it in English.
UPCOMING
A new calendar view gathers the dates, deadlines and meetings mentioned across your recordings, with recent past ones a tap away. Open any event to jump straight to the recording it came from.
SPACES
• Private and shared spaces now live in one list, with a badge on the shared ones — no more switching tabs to find half of them.
• Delete a space you own and everything inside it, behind a two-step confirmation that tells you exactly what goes and who loses access.
FIXED
• Spaces shared with you now show up in the Ask picker.
2.0.1 Sep 10
Connect your AI
Noto Scribe now works with outside AI assistants. Link a compatible assistant — such as Claude — from Settings → Account → Connect your AI, and it can search and read your notes to answer questions across everything you've recorded. You choose when to connect, and you can disconnect at any time.
Your recording balance
A new Billing screen under Settings shows how much recording time you have left, along with every payment and credit that got you there. We now tell you inside the app when you drop below an hour, so a recording never stops as a surprise.
Also in this release
• Settings reorganised — Connect your AI, Privacy & AI, and password now sit together under Account; sound and lock screen toggles moved to Notifications
• Fixed: pending share invitations now confirm correctly and close the sheet
• Fixed: your connections list refreshes each time you open the screen
2.0.0 Sep 2
Your recordings just came to life inside your notes.
LISTEN AS YOU READ
Every note now has a built-in audio player. As your recording plays, the transcript highlights line-by-line so you can follow along word for word.
JUMP ANYWHERE INSTANTLY
Tap any line in the transcript to jump right to that moment. Drag the new scrubber to any point, or skip 15 seconds back and forward with a single tap.
READ DISTRACTION-FREE
Open the full-screen transcript reader to review your notes with the playback controls always within reach.
