Learn first, then practice. This update introduces new material before it asks you about it. • New grammar points open with a short lesson right before their first question, in Grammar Drill and Grammar Production as well as the daily plan. • Verb forms get a short lesson (the rule plus worked examples) before Conjugation asks them. • Kana rules are taught when you first need them: ゛ and ゜, small ゃ ゅ ょ, small っ, long vowels, and the particles は, へ and を. • Most practice modes explain how they work the first time you open them, and Pitch Practice starts with a short primer. • Listening and reading show the new grammar in a passage or scenario before you start. • Flashcard Review shows a Learn card before a new card, and Weak Spots and Cram skip cards you've never studied. • In most practice modes, a wrong answer shows the right answer and why, then waits for you to tap Continue. • On the results screen, tap a missed word or kanji to open it, or practice just the ones you missed. • Kanji memory hints and example sentences are now in every app language. • Larger question text, a clearer daily plan and Study tab, and a friendlier start for new learners. • Fixes and polish throughout.

A big update to what you study and in what order. • Smarter order. Words and kanji now come most-useful-first instead of in dictionary order, and the JLPT levels have been re-checked so N5 starts with the words you need most (greetings, numbers, everyday nouns). • Pick your pace. Onboarding now asks how many new words a day you want and shows what that means for your daily workload. You can also place yourself: skip kana you already know, or start at a higher level. • Reading questions are on by default for new installs and arrive gradually, so they never pile up. Existing installs keep their current settings. • Clearer meanings. Better English meanings for the most common words, plus human-written German, French and Spanish meanings for many JLPT words. • 115 new grammar points (365 in total). Each point is now taught first and then practiced, and reviewed again on a spaced schedule. • More listening practice for N3, N2 and N1, and longer N5 and N4 dialogues. • Example sentences now match the meaning of the word you are learning. • Answer choices that look or sound alike are now mixed in, so you cannot rely on guessing by elimination. • Memory goal: choose Relaxed, Standard or Exam, and set an exam date to have reviews planned around it (Settings). • Daily plan: one button, "Start today's plan", takes you through your reviews, new cards, grammar and sentences. • "I already know this" on a new card lets you skip words you know. • Sessions start faster, and the app takes up less space. • New content is translated into all 12 app languages. • Fixes and polish throughout.

Benkyō is focused on learning Japanese again. • My Room has been retired, so every minute in the app goes to your studies. • On the free plan, saving a session of 5 or more answers now asks for a short ad. If you skip it, your card progress and your streak are still kept; only that session's statistics aren't recorded. If no ad is available, the session is saved anyway. • Premium saves every session automatically, with no ads. • Recover a broken streak by watching an ad whenever you need to. • More reliable ads and fixes.

A warmer welcome to My Room (beta). • Mayor Ishida now waits outside your door on your first visit, greets you in Japanese and walks you through your first quest. • Give your character a name when you create them, and the village will use it. • Always know what to do next: a line at the top of the game shows your current goal, and speech bubbles mark who has a quest for you. The quest log now says who gives each quest and where. • Sounds and haptics when you buy something, place furniture, finish a quest, claim a daily or level up. • Menus respond to taps and have a Done button, and decorating shows which button places, cancels and rotates. • Wall decorations start in the middle of the wall.

My Room (beta) is here. • Furnish a room and dress your avatar with pixel-art pieces you unlock by studying. My Room is a beta: it will keep growing, and your feedback shapes it. • Explore Akari Village, the Shiomiya waterfront and the Yoibori canal district. Talk to the residents right in the scene, take on quests and collect keepsakes. • Adopt a companion to keep you company around the room and village. • Coins are cosmetic. You earn them only by completing Japanese lessons, and they never gate or pace your studying. • Your achievements are displayed as trophies in your room. • A clearer Study tab: one Today card with your path progress, a single Review button that shows how long the session will take, and every study mode visible at a glance. • Pause reviews while you are away without freezing your progress. • Recover a broken streak within 48 hours with coins or an ad. • 164 more kanji, with meanings in all supported languages, added to the N5–N1 decks.
