Swarf Shop is a job board for small machine shops.
Jobs sit in columns. Move them along as work gets done. That's basically it.
We built this because whiteboards don't have search, Excel locks everybody out, and every "shop management" package out there tries to be an ERP. We don't do invoicing, inventory, or quoting. You've got QuickBooks for the office stuff.
Think of it as the board on the wall, just digital. Everyone sees the same board, nobody erases it by accident, and it's in your pocket.
THE BOARD
Columns are whatever you want: Queued, Cutting, QC, Outside Svc, Ship, Done, or your own. Swipe a job to the next column, long-press for Move to, or tap Select and move a whole stack at once. Filter to My Jobs, Overdue, or one machine. Due dates turn amber when they're close and red when they're late. Mark a job RUSH and it stands out.
EVERY JOB CARD
Customer, job number, PO, part number and rev, quantity and parts done, due date, machines, who's assigned, material status, estimated and actual hours, material cost, quoted price, notes, and a history of every change. Tap to call, text, or email the customer.
ROUTING AND OUTSIDE PROCESSING
List the operations (OP 10 saw, OP 20 lathe) and log good and scrap counts as parts come off. Track parts out at the plater or heat treater: which vendor has them, when they went, and when they're due back.
PHOTOS AND FILES
Snap a photo of a setup, attach the customer's PDF, or pick a file. Photos open full screen. Swipe through them and pinch to zoom.
MACHINES
See each machine's queue, how many hours are loaded on it, what's overdue, and what ran in the last 30 days. A job can run on more than one machine.
CREW SCHEDULE
Put people on jobs by day so everyone knows who's on what. Day and week views. It's a list a person fills in: no timeclock, no payroll, and it never schedules anything for you.
SEARCH
Customer, job number, PO, part number, rev, machine, worker, notes, even attachment file names. Works offline.
THE WHOLE CREW
Owner, member, operator, and view-only roles. Operators can move jobs, add notes, and log counts without touching your setup. Invite people with a link.
WORKS WHERE YOU WORK
iPhone, iPad, the office computer, and the TV on the shop wall, all in sync. iPad has a TV view for a mounted screen, and any browser can show the board on a shop TV. If the WiFi drops, keep working. It catches up when it comes back.
Due-date and assignment reminders on your phone, plus a daily or weekly email digest. Job links in the email open right in the app.
Light or dark, your call. Run more than one shop? Switch between them.
