Barakah - Islamic Finance
Halal Finance Made Simple
Free · In‑App Purchases · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.
Calculate zakat, screen stocks, plan inheritance, and manage your household budget. Explore Barakah with a 7-day Family trial after setup.
Barakah is the Islamic personal finance app built for Muslim families who want to manage money in line with their values — zakat, halal screening, estate planning, budgeting, and giving, all in one place.
HALAL-FIRST FINANCE
• Every account and investment is screened against riba-free criteria, with the reasoning shown
• Riba Detector flags interest income and interest-bearing accounts so you can purify them
• Halal-screening status on your linked accounts at a glance
ZAKAT, DONE RIGHT
• Calculate your zakat with live nisab thresholds from gold and silver
• See the methodology behind every figure — not just a number
• Hawl (lunar-year) tracker, payment history, Zakat al-Fitr, and zakat on retirement accounts (401k/IRA)
ISLAMIC ESTATE PLANNING
• Faraid inheritance calculator — Qur'anic shares for every heir, with Awl and Radd applied automatically and the reasoning shown per heir
• Wasiyyah (Islamic will) planning to record your bequests
KNOW WHERE YOUR MONEY GOES
• Connect bank, credit card, and investment accounts via Plaid
• Automatic transaction categorization with one-tap editing
• Net worth updated in real time; recurring bills and subscriptions detected automatically
BUDGETS & CASH FLOW
• Set spending caps by category and get notified before you drift
• Monthly cash-flow summary with income vs. expenses
• Sankey diagram showing where your money flows at a glance
FAMILY & SIDE INCOME
• Share a household view with your spouse or family — each member keeps their own login
• Track side-hustle and small-business income and expenses for tax time
GIVING
• Record sadaqah and waqf (endowment) contributions alongside your zakat
PRIVACY & SECURITY
• AES-256 encryption at rest for sensitive data; TLS for every connection
• No data selling — service providers only
• Biometric login (Face ID / Touch ID)
Built for Muslims in North America, Europe, and beyond who want a modern finance tool that respects Islamic principles.
Barakah is a decision-support tool, not a fatwa service. Where scholarly opinions differ, it surfaces the methodology rather than a single ruling — always verify your zakat and inheritance figures with a qualified scholar.

more The level of detail is what really stands out. It’s honestly impressive. The Zakat side in particular is super well thought out and the calculator feels solid and reliable.Biggest thing for me though is having everything in one place. You’re not jumping between tools. Because it does so much, it can feel like a lot at first. There’s definitely a bit of a learning curve. But once you get familiar with it, everything makes a lot of sense.

Restoring a purchase now waits for your account to confirm access. If the connection drops, your last known plan stays visible instead of showing Free. We also added clearer retry messages and tightened currency checks for investments.

Add a manual bill reminder when your bank does not provide a due date. Bills due today now stay on time, and reminder settings save correctly. Investment amounts show the right currency, with clearer concentration and crypto exposure. We also improved admin search, paid-plan reporting, and support tools.

Getting started is easier: add your first transaction, set a budget, or explore Zakat before connecting a bank. Subscription prices now come directly from your app store. If plans fail to load, you'll see a clear message and a way to retry. We've also improved how free accounts load dashboard data.

Import statements from more banks and payment apps using OFX, QFX, MT940, CAMT.053/XML, or text-based PDF files. Returning users with missing contact details will be asked to add a phone number and country before opening financial data. Trials now begin only after setup is completed.

Google sign-in now captures your country during account setup so currency and available bank connections are accurate. This update also includes signup and reliability improvements.
1.0.109 Sep 23
