Log less without losing the picture. Set each symptom's usual level and Flare fills the days you don't log, marked so your report shows what you actually rated.
Built by someone who spent months tracking his own condition in a spreadsheet because nothing else felt right.
If you've been dismissed, doubted, or told to wait it out, this app is your evidence. A quiet, structured way to document your symptoms and walk into your next appointment with real data instead of a half-remembered list.
Flare works for back pain, arthritis, fibromyalgia, migraine, endometriosis, pelvic pain, sciatica, nerve pain -- and any condition you want to track. Start from a template for your condition, or build your own.
WHAT YOU CAN TRACK
Pain, fatigue, stiffness, brain fog, or any symptom you want to add
Severity on a named five-level scale (None to Severe), never "3/10"
Descriptions for how a symptom feels -- aching, burning, throbbing, or your own words
Medications, dosages, and medication courses with dose changes
Activities and treatments (physical therapy, injections, exercise), including your own
Daily notes, typed, dictated, or added with a Quick note
LOG ON YOUR TERMS

Finally an app that I can use! I love everything about it. I like that I can customize to what I want. I'm only using the free version but am seriously considering purchasing the full version. I want to try it out for a while first.
Developer Response
Thank you - this made my day! Customization was the whole point. Everyone’s pain looks different, so the app should bend to you and not the other way around. Take your time with the free version - I’ve got some new features coming out soon that will make it even better! If you hit anything that feels missing, tell me and I’ll happily look at it.
Simple and easy to use!

Been looking for a symptom tracker that has just symptoms and a simplistic way to log and this has been wonderful! No limits on the symptoms or activities that you can place and I love that there are reminders that keep you on track. I also love how the app is functional even without a subscription, though I wish the statistics were available on the free version as well, I’m happy to have a majority of the apps functionality without having to pay a whopping fee for premium.
Developer Response
Thank you. Core tracking, reminders and the timeline stay free for good. Trends is the one paid part because it is what keeps Flare running without ads or accounts. Your data never leaves your phone either way.
So much potential, but…

UPDATE 9-9-26:The developer is impressive with his timely response concerning both fixing the crashing issue and responding to my review. Thank you for being open to suggestions. I am a lifetime member and look forward to the future enhancements! (As a side note, thank you for not operating on a subscription model. Those of us mindful about purchasing appreciate a product one actually owns.)ORIGINAL:I’m excited about this app and especially appreciate the creator’s personal story. I’m grateful that he took his own experience with pain and created something that could benefit others. I’m hoping Flare will help me identify correlations and patterns in my pain over time.I’ve only entered about two days of data so far, which may be related, but the app crashes whenever I try to generate a report. My biggest difficulty is that I have several different types/locations of pain and therefore too many things to log. I would love the ability to create multiple broad pain categories—such as back pain, neck pain, migraines, and leg pain—and then select descriptors within them, such as nerve pain, throbbing, pressure, stabbing, etc. Creating separate entries for every possible combination becomes overwhelming very quickly. A category → descriptor structure would make a huge difference for people with multiple chronic pain issues.I’d also love an option to archive medications. Right now, hiding a medication seems to remove it from the available options altogether. It would be helpful to hide medications I’m not currently taking while still being able to easily restore them later.More color customization would also be useful. Activities can have different colors, but medications cannot. I’d also like to choose my own colors for pain levels. The current mild-to-severe colors are fairly similar, and since I generally don’t log times when I have no or minimal pain, more distinct colors would make my pain patterns much easier to see at a glance.Overall, I really like the concept and am excited to keep using Flare. My main challenge is simply having so many different things to track. More organization and customization for those of us managing multiple types of pain would make an already promising app much easier to use consistently.
Developer Response
Thank you for such thoughtful, detailed feedback, and for your kind words about my story. Helping others living with pain is exactly why I built Flare. The report crashes have been fixed in the latest update. I’m sorry you ran into that.Your suggestions around pain categories and descriptors, restoring medications, and more distinct colors are incredibly helpful. Hearing how overwhelming tracking can become with multiple types of pain gives us a clearer picture of what needs to improve. We’re building something exciting for Flare, and feedback like yours is helping shape what comes next. Thank you for trying it and sharing what would make it more useful for you.
Helps me a lot

Brought the PDF from flare to my lady appointment and my doctor stopped and said she wished more of her patients tracked like this! We covered more in 15 minutes than we usually do in a full visit worth it for that alone.
Developer Response
That is the whole reason Flare exists. Thank you for telling me. If anything in the PDF could be clearer for a visit, the feedback button in Settings reaches me directly.
A fuller picture. Less logging.
Baselines: choose the level a symptom usually sits at, and Flare uses it wherever that symptom is left blank, including days you don't log. You choose the level for each symptom, anything you log overrides it, and it starts today. Earlier history stays as it was. Set up baselines in Settings > Behaviors > Blank cells, or from the check-in sheet.
After a few days away, Flare asks how those days were. Confirm them, or sketch the days that felt different.
If you always make the same choice when you tap Log, Flare offers once to make it a single tap.
Care: the tab badge now appears only in the week after an appointment, and you can record whether it happened right from the Care tab.
Also: every Trends card is available from the start, and courses you select for a PDF now always appear in full. Your most common level between flares is now called your usual level in Trends and the PDF. It uses only your own ratings, so a baseline always means the level you set.
