Brotto 2.0 is here! Identify plants with AI, get reminders to check the soil, record your care, and follow each plant’s growth with photos in your redesigned garden.
Identify plants from a photo and care for them with more confidence. Brotto brings together AI plant identification, soil-check reminders, and an organized garden to help you follow each plant’s journey — from its first photo to its newest leaf.
- FIND OUT WHAT’S GROWING:
See a plant you’d like to identify? Take a photo or choose one from your library. Brotto suggests a species using AI, and you review the result before adding it to your garden. Then give your plant a name, note where it lives, and set an interval for checking its soil. On supported devices, AI can suggest a starting interval.
- CHECK THE SOIL BEFORE YOU WATER:
A care reminder doesn’t always mean it’s time to water. Brotto reminds you to check the soil first.
If it’s dry, log a watering. If it’s still moist, record the check and take another look the next day. Not sure? Follow simple guidance for testing the soil with your finger or a toothpick. Build a care routine around what your plants actually need.
- KEEP YOUR GARDEN CLOSE:
See which plants need attention today, find any plant by name, species, or location, and revisit its care history.
Capture photos as your plants grow, too. Keep the new leaves, flowers, and small changes together in each plant’s photo gallery.
- START FREE, GROW WITH PRO:
Use Brotto for free with up to two active plants. Brotto Pro gives you unlimited active plants and a higher allowance of AI identifications.
Whether you’re caring for your first plant or growing a collection, Brotto helps you identify, observe, and care — one soil check at a time.
Brotto Pro is available as a monthly or annual subscription. Payment is charged to your Apple Account. Your subscription renews automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel it in your account settings.

Brotto 2.0: a new way to identify and care for your plants
Brotto has been redesigned to help you identify your plants, organize your collection, and know when each one needs attention. Here’s what’s new:
• A new introduction with Brotto. Our mascot now welcomes you and guides you through plant identification and care.
• A clearer identification flow. Take a photo or choose one, review the species suggested by AI, and confirm it before adding the plant to your garden. Then set its name, location, and soil-check interval. On supported devices, AI can suggest a starting interval that you can adjust.
• A new approach to plant care. Reminders now prompt you to check the soil instead of watering on a fixed schedule. If it’s dry, log a watering. If it’s still moist, record the check and check again the next day. Not sure what to look for? Brotto offers simple guidance.
• A Home focused on today. See which plants need a soil check and get a quick view of your garden.
• A garden that’s easier to navigate. Find plants by name, species, or location and keep up with each plant’s care.
• Your plants’ growth in photos. A new flow makes it easier to capture photos and revisit each plant’s progress in its gallery.
Brotto 2.0 is also optimized for iOS 27.
