Bitflinger TV: Stop Searching. Start Watching.
Tired of the "Streaming Shuffle"? You spend 20 minutes jumping between five different apps just to find something to watch, only to realize the movie you wanted isn't even on the service you're currently logged into.
Bitflinger TV ends the chaos. It's the ultimate smart aggregator for the modern viewer. Designed for iPhone and iPad, it brings your entire streaming universe into one beautiful, lightning-fast interface. Whether you're on your couch or on the go, Bitflinger TV ensures your next favorite show is always one tap away.
Why Bitflinger TV?
• Everything in One Place: Connect your favorite streaming services and browse a unified catalog. No more app-switching.
• Professional-Grade Filtering: Find exactly what you're in the mood for. Filter by content type or specifically by the apps you already pay for — and, with a subscription, by critic/user score and release date.
• The "Smart" Watchlist: Our watchlist doesn't just sit there — it's dynamic. Use our unique "Hide Until Available" logic to clear the clutter; episodes only appear when they're actually ready for you to watch.
• Private by Design: No ads inside the app, and we never sell or share subscriber data. We don't build cross-app advertising profiles of you — and with Sign in with Apple you can keep your email private. Our Privacy Policy sets out how each tier is handled.
• Sign In Your Way: Use Sign in with Apple or Google. Your settings, filters, and watchlists sync instantly across all your devices.
• Built for Speed: A high-performance architecture makes Bitflinger TV snappy, intuitive, and built by viewers, for viewers.
The Better Way to Stream
Most "recommendation" engines just want to sell you more subscriptions. Bitflinger TV is different. We focus on your library and your preferences. It's the power-user tool for the Golden Age of Television.
Free Tier & Subscription
Bitflinger TV is free to use for as long as you like — a real account, not a countdown. A free account gets genre selection; the smart watchlist, search, and detail screens; Plex & Jellyfin; and your personalized streaming services — on up to 3 devices in your household, browsing the first 250 titles in each row.*
An optional auto-renewable subscription adds:
• Every title in every row, not just the first 250
• Unlimited devices in your household
• Filter by critic/user score
• Filter by release date
• Personalized themes and card styles
• Apple Family Sharing
• Bitflinger TV (Monthly) — $2.99 / month
• Bitflinger TV (Annual) — $23.99 / year
Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase. Your subscription renews automatically unless turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends. Manage or cancel anytime in your Apple Account settings. Canceling drops you back to the free version rather than locking you out.
* First 250 per row: on the free tier, each row browses the first 250 unfiltered results for that row rather than the full catalog behind it. That cap is what keeps the free tier viable for us to run — a subscription removes it.

more Live & Upcoming, Leaving soon, awards, a Show hidden switch on the Watchlist and Apps rows, and a new icon.
New
• Live & Upcoming: a home row of sports and awards broadcasts on your services, live ones first. Tap an event to see where it's on and open it there.
• Leaving soon: cards, title pages and each service on a title page say when a title is leaving one of your services. A Leaving soon row lists them, soonest first. Subscribers can also get an alert when a title on their watchlist is leaving in the next week. It's off until you turn it on in Settings → Notifications.
• Awards: title pages show an awards chip that opens the wins and nominations, and people have an Awards section. Subscribers get an Award winners filter.
• The Watchlist and Apps rows each have a Show hidden switch beside their name, with an info button that explains it. Touch and hold a card to hide it, or to bring back one you've hidden. Each switch changes only its own row, and replaces Show Titles I've Hidden in Filters. A Watchlist with everything hidden stays on screen, so its switch is always there.
• On US accounts, the plans screen has a Buy me a coffee button, if you'd like to support the app without subscribing.
• A new Bitflinger TV icon and launch screen.
Improved
• The plans screen shows prices in your own currency, as the App Store charges them.
• Search waits until you stop typing, and results show up faster.
• The Unused subscriptions notification is now Subscription plan. Once a month it lists the services you haven't opened lately, and how to watch your watchlist on fewer of them.
• Opening a service from the Apps row now counts as using it, so the Subscription plan won't call it unused.
Fixed
• A free tier or a store, like Amazon, is no longer reported as a subscription you don't use.
• Daily Reels from different nights no longer show together, so the same reel can't appear twice.
• Long row names in a row's settings no longer run off the edge.

A 14-day free trial on Monthly and Yearly, and a reminder before your free trial ends.
New
• Monthly and Yearly start with a 14-day free trial from the App Store if your Apple ID hasn't had one. The plans screen shows it when it applies.
• At the end of setup, you can start that free trial right away, or choose Not now.
• In the last three days of your free trial, the app reminds you once when it ends.
Improved
• Settings → Notifications lists what the app can tell you about first, and says what the getting-started tips are.
1.1.612 Oct 11
A Lifetime plan, a plans screen that shows what a subscription saves you, and a Daily Reels switch.
New
• Lifetime: pay once and keep every subscriber feature, with nothing to renew.
• The plans screen lists the services you haven't opened from Bitflinger TV in the last 30 days. During a free trial it also shows the day the trial ends.
• Settings → Media Sources marks each service you haven't opened from Bitflinger TV lately, with the date you last did.
• Daily Reels has its own switch at the top of Settings → Media Lists and in each reel row's settings.
• The theme step in setup can now set a custom background.
• Reset to Default in each row's settings puts the row back on your default settings, including Sort By and filters.
Improved
• The plans screen says up front that yearly plans get an email 7 days before they renew.
• When something on a free account needs a subscription, the app says so and offers the plans. That includes the device limit, shown in Settings → Devices and when signing in on one device too many.
• On a free account, subscriber-only settings (card looks, background styles, score, date and rating filters, Auto Detect Sources and Daily Reels) return to their defaults. Subscribing turns Daily Reels back on.
• Sort By in Filters now orders Daily Reels too. Relevance keeps each reel's own order.
• Smoother scrolling in rows with large artwork, and with Animation set to None.
• Background animations keep their shape on iPhone and iPad instead of stretching, and look sharper.
1.1.610 Oct 9
Notifications that stay until you dismiss them, search filters, more ways to hide a watchlist title, and the getting-started guides in Settings.
New
• Notifications now stay in the Notifications list until you dismiss them. Opening one takes you to its page and keeps it there. Swipe it away, in the app or in Notification Center, and it's gone from both on every device you're signed in to.
• Search can be narrowed to movies or TV shows, and to a span of release years. Results now show each title's name beneath its artwork.
• A movie on your watchlist can wait for the way you want to watch it: Hide Until Streaming, Hide Until Free to Me, or Hide Until Rent or Buy. It comes back when it's available that way.
• Settings → Help → Getting Started Guides lists every guide, screenshots and all, so you can read one again whenever you like.
Improved
• The Filters button lights up while filters from its drawer are narrowing your rows, so you can see at a glance that something is set.
• The welcome message in the app now reads the way its email looks.
• In notification settings, the getting-started guides and news sit just below the messages that are always delivered. Watchlist alerts, recommendations and the unused-subscriptions report are marked as subscriber features.
Fixed
• Refreshing the home screen no longer reloads everything twice.
• A row still loading or with nothing in it no longer opens as a blank band.
1.1.606 Oct 1
Filters back on the home screen, watchlist alerts that open the title, notification settings that cover the messages we always send, and a home screen that shows its work while it loads.
New
• A watchlist alert opens the title it names. Tap the notification, or the link in the email, and you land on that title's page.
• Settings → Notifications now lists the messages that are always delivered: sign-in and security alerts, and account messages. What you choose for those is where they reach you — email or push — and one of the two stays on. Legally required notices can now add a push alongside their email.
• A notification type you've paused from a link in an email now shows how long the pause has left, with Resume beside it.
• Each device now offers to turn notifications on the first time you reach the home screen. Your choices are shared across your account, but permission belongs to each device — so a phone or tablet you never set up was quietly receiving none of them.
Improved
• Filters are back on the home screen, in with the quick filters, rather than behind Settings. The quick filters sit a little closer together to make room, and on a phone the whole row still fits one line.
• The home screen no longer waits in the dark. Your rows appear in outline as they load, so there is something on screen from the first frame.
• Opening the app asks for your rows once rather than once for every row, so they arrive sooner.
Fixed
• Signing in now registers the device for notifications straight away. Signing out clears the device's registration, and a fresh sign-in was leaving it clear until the next launch — so the notifications you had just asked for went missing in between.
• A photo that hasn't finished downloading to your device — one that still lives in iCloud Photos or Google Photos — is now caught when you pick it, with a note to save it to the device first. It used to be accepted and then fail to appear as a background, on every device you're signed in to.
• A background already saved that way falls back to your theme instead of leaving the screen broken.
• A title that can't be loaded now explains itself. One that has left the catalogue says so, rather than offering a Retry that cannot help.
1.1.601 Sep 23
Notifications, a content rating filter, your own background, and cast lists you can follow.
New
• Notifications. A bell on the home screen collects them, with a count of the ones you haven't opened, and opening one clears it on every device you use. Choose what you hear about in Settings → Notifications, or in the new first step of setup.
• Filter by content rating: any mix of Kids, Family, Teen, Adult and Unrated titles.
• Use your own photo as the background, run any of the animations over it — or none — and choose light or dark.
• Immersive rows, a new Row Type. As you move along one, the title you're on fills the screen with its artwork and name.
• Selecting a cast member opens that person: their portrait, what they're known for, and their filmography, each title listed with the role they played. Opening one of those titles puts you back on a title page — so a cast list leads into a film, and that film's cast leads on again.
• Pull down on the home screen to refresh it.
• Hide titles you've liked or disliked, and sort by user score or critic score.
Improved
• Rows with nothing to show are hidden. Turn on Show Empty Rows to see them again.
• Rating a title into hiding takes it out of your rows at once, and leaves you on the title beside it.
• Filters have moved into Settings, and setup now walks through sorting and filtering in one step.
• Daily Reels pick up new picks within the hour, and a reel's full name scrolls instead of being cut off.
• New accounts start with poster-style cards.
• Signing out now asks you to confirm.
• On wider screens, Play and the buttons beside it sit inside the artwork at the top of a title rather than below it, and less of that artwork is dimmed behind them.
• The free-versus-subscription comparison lists recommendations as something a subscription adds, rather than as something a free account gets a weaker version of.
Fixed
• A subscription could be credited to a different account signed in on another device with the same App Store account.
• A title's name no longer shifts as you move focus between the buttons beneath it.
• Setup no longer revises its step count or relabels its buttons a moment after it opens.

1.1.555 Sep 8
Bitflinger TV is now free to use.
A free account gets genre selection, your watchlist, search and title details, Plex and Jellyfin, and personalized streaming services — on up to 3 devices, browsing the first 250 titles in each row. A subscription adds every title in every row, unlimited devices, filtering by critic/user score and by release date, personalized themes and card styles, and Family Sharing. The 14-day trial we ran ourselves is gone; a trial is now the App Store's introductory offer, shown with its terms before you confirm.
New
• Devices: Settings > Account > Devices lists everything signed in to your account and when each was last used, and signs out any of them — useful for a TV you no longer have.
• Signing in on a fourth device now says which devices are already signed in and asks you to sign one out, instead of failing without explanation.
• Free, Subscription, and Rent or Buy are separate quick filters, so you can see what's genuinely free to you apart from what a service you pay for includes.
• Media sources are grouped by the service they're for, so every way to watch one service sits together — a channel sold through another app groups under the service, not the app selling it. Bulk actions select or clear a whole group.
• A Default Configuration drawer puts the card type, size and sort order a new row starts from in one place.
Improved
• No paywall on first launch. Subscription features are marked where you meet them, so you can look around before deciding.
• Setup leads with what's free, keeps your place until it's finished, and ends on a comparison of the two tiers.
• The paywall says what a subscription actually changes, lists Free alongside the paid plans, and shows the yearly saving.
• A new account no longer arrives with media sources picked on its behalf — selecting nothing means every source we support.
• Free accounts refresh in the background once a day rather than continuously, which is easier on data and battery.
• Faster startup and less stutter when scrolling rows.
Fixed
• Signing in as a different account no longer leaves the previous account's rows on screen or skips setup on the new account's behalf.
• Flipping auto-detect takes effect immediately instead of serving the rows the other setting had cached.
• Card type and size drawers show the value that's actually rendering, and a row with no override follows your default.
• Declining a theme change keeps the theme you had.
• Toggles no longer fire twice on a single press, and holding Select no longer re-triggers the focused button.
• Turning a row on or off is confirmed with the server before it's shown as changed.
• Entering a row that's scrolled keeps its place, and a row that reloads with fewer titles no longer crashes.
• Long title logos no longer render cut off.
• A service sold only through other apps wears its own logo instead of borrowing one from whichever app sells it.

Bug fixes for local sources.
1.0.546 Aug 10
Various bug fixes. No significant feature changes.
1.0.166 Jul 25
- Local media servers. Connect Jellyfin and/or Plex libraries directly — multiple servers at once, automatic discovery on your network, and no-password sign-in (Jellyfin Quick Connect, Plex PIN linking). Local titles merge right into your existing rows and open in the right app.
- Subscribe directly from Apple TV, using Apple's on-device purchase flow.
- About & Credits screen in Settings, with content-data attribution.
- Web: launch streaming apps and titles via deep link straight from the app row.
Improved:
- Watchlist "Hide" is now a proper menu: Hide Indefinitely, Hide Until Available, or Hide Until Next Episode, each with its own cancelable confirmation — backing out no longer accidentally hides the title.
- Signing in on Apple TV is more durable — you should no longer get randomly signed out.
- Home screen filters refresh reliably again; returning to the app after a short break no longer forces an unnecessary full reload.
- Web: consistent Google Sign-In button styling across platforms; more reliable image loading and trailer playback.
Fixed:
- Fixed a crash on malformed list data, and fixed watchlist reordering losing focus or failing to load past the first page.
- Web: fixed Sign in with Apple failing due to a redirect-origin mismatch.
1.0.129 Jul 23
1.0.5 — 2026-07-16
## New
- **Plex & Jellyfin Integrations**: Access your personal libraries directly within the app. Features automated local network discovery, support for multiple active servers, and a quick sign-in flow.
- **In-App Subscriptions**: Seamlessly subscribe or manage your membership directly on Apple TV and iOS using Apple's modern StoreKit 2 framework.
- **Card-Free 14-Day Trial**: Start exploring instantly with a 14-day free trial—no credit card details required at signup.
- **About & Credits Screen**: A new screen detailing app version information and attributing metadata providers like TMDB.
## Improved
- **Long Watchlist Reordering**: Easily reorganize long lists. Reordering items now automatically pages and loads subsequent titles as you move past the visible boundary.
- **Siri Remote Back Button**: Pressing the back button on your remote while reordering now naturally cancels the reorder mode and returns you to browsing instead of closing the application.
## Fixed
- **Smooth Big-Screen Rendering**: Resolved a rendering bug on tvOS that could cause graphical artifacts or glitches when navigating with Impeller enabled.
- **Reorder Focus Lock**: Fixed an issue where the Siri Remote would lose focus on the active card when entering or navigating within the watchlist reorder view.
- **Data Load Failures**: Addressed a potential startup crash when loading list payloads containing legacy or incomplete sorting properties.
1.0.5 Jul 21
1.0.4 — 2026-07-10
New
- Bitflinger TV now runs on Apple TV. Browse, filter, and organize titles across the streaming services you already use — built for the Siri Remote and the tvOS focus experience on the big screen.
- More ways to sign in. Sign in with Apple or Google, pair quickly by scanning a QR code with your phone, or enter a short access code — whatever is easiest from the couch.
Title logos on artwork. Cards and the title detail page now show a title's logo over its artwork when one is available, falling back cleanly to text when it isn't.
Improved
- Smoother remote navigation: the main action is focused automatically when you open a title, the first row is ready as soon as the Home screen appears, and quick repeated presses feel more controlled.
- Trailers now open in the correct app more reliably.
- Settings shows only the options that apply to your device.
Fixed
- Fixed scrolling that could bounce or drift while moving focus through rows.
- Fixed rare crashes when scrolling search results and other lists.
- Search now runs as soon as you dismiss the on-screen keyboard.
1.0.4 Jul 10
Enhanced Authentication & Sign-in Experience
Streamlined Apple TV Sign-In (QR Code Pairing)
Replaced the Apple TV native Sign-In sheet with a unified, cross-platform QR code pairing flow. Users can now scan a QR code on their television screen with any smartphone to quickly authorize their device.
Analytics & Marketing Integration
Unified Firebase Analytics Telemetry
Added telemetry to monitor the health and growth of the app. A custom subscription_start telemetry event is now logged automatically when a new subscription is successfully purchased on any device.
Apple TV/tvOS Analytics Support
Added a custom platform bridge to enable robust Firebase Analytics support on tvOS devices, bringing the Apple TV companion app to telemetry parity with iOS.
Smart Subscription Attribution (GCLID & SKAN)
- Web & Apple TV: The app now securely registers the Google Ads click identifier (GCLID) during onboarding. This links back to the user's account to track ad campaign efficiency.
- iOS Native App: Added native support for Apple's privacy-preserving SKAdNetwork (SKAN) framework, allowing Google App campaigns to securely receive attribution values for iOS phone installs.
Reliability & Developer Platform Upgrades
Multi-Flavor iOS Environments: Configured automatic environment mapping for iOS builds. The compiler now automatically assigns the correct staging, beta, or production Firebase configuration profile (GoogleService-Info.plist) based on the active build target.
Safeguarded Telemetry Pipeline: Analytics runs on a strictly "best-effort" wrapper. A backend connectivity lag or telemetry service timeout will never block or interrupt a user’s checkout flow.
1.0.2 Jul 9
Features
- Household sharing wizard — New setup step explains how to share your subscription across a household via Apple Family Sharing or Google Family Group, and covers unlimited household devices.
- Title Playback settings — New settings drawer lets you control what happens when direct playback isn't available: choose in-app search, global search, or opening the target app's home screen, with clearer warnings that explain the fallback behavior and how to change it.
Improvements
- Reworked how the app finds and launches content in other streaming apps when it isn't available for direct playback, for more reliable in-app and global search across Android, iOS, and Apple TV.
- Smoothed out home-screen scrolling and fixed focus getting lost when navigating back up on TV.
- Improved the web layout for title detail pages — content now lines up consistently with the home screen, and a visual seam on the backdrop image is fixed.
- Clarified how the app uses the Home-button launcher's accessibility permissions, including an explicit no-data-collection notice.
Bug Fixes
- Fixed a paywall flash that could briefly appear before the setup wizard finished loading for new users.
- Fixed a crash risk when a subscription check completed just as a screen was being closed.
- Fixed sign-in code entry not showing on iOS in some app configurations.
1.0.1 Jul 3
Live & Upcoming, Leaving soon, awards, a Show hidden switch on the Watchlist and Apps rows, and a new icon.
New
• Live & Upcoming: a home row of sports and awards broadcasts on your services, live ones first.
