Tiqan: Calisthenics Workout
Adaptive Bodyweight Plans
Free · In‑App Purchases · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.
Tiqan is a calisthenics training app built around honest progression. Pick a goal — build strength, master a skill, or move better — and the program adapts to your level, equipment and recovery. Nothing is inflated, and nothing is guessed.
THREE GOALS, THREE REAL PROGRAMS
Tell Tiqan what you are training for and it builds the plan for it.
- Build Strength: a six-level ladder from Foundation to Elite, on 3-day Full Body, 4-day Upper/Lower or 6-day Push, Pull, Legs
- Master a Skill: step-by-step ladders to the handstand, front lever, planche and muscle-up
- Move Better: mobility, flexibility and functional movement, tracked by coverage not load
- Run one goal at a time, or keep all three going at once
PROGRAMS THAT GROW WITH YOU
After every session the engine decides whether to advance, hold or regress each movement. You do not tell it you got stronger; it works that out.
- Equipment-aware: pull-up bar, parallel bars, rings, or none of them — it programs only what you can actually do
- Intra-workout calibration: your first set tunes the sets that follow
- Plateau detection flags movements that have stalled
- Change your training days or equipment whenever life does — for good, or just while you travel
IT ADAPTS INSIDE THE SESSION TOO
New in 2.0. Most apps only adjust between workouts.
- Reps falling away mid-exercise? It offers to stop there and counts what you did, rather than watching you grind out junk sets
- Well under your recent numbers from the first set? It offers to finish the day lighter
- Both are offers with a decline, once per exercise. It notices; it does not nag
HONEST INSIGHTS
Most apps inflate numbers. Tiqan shows you the truth.
- Recovery reads your sleep, HRV against your own baseline, resting heart rate and active energy from Apple Health — and says which of those it is using today. No watch data last night? It says so instead of inventing a score
- Personal baselines: every metric reads "8 percent below your 6-week average", not a number floating in space
- Personal correlations: your strongest training day, what rest actually does for you
- Training Load with a 6-week reference line
- Personal Records timestamped, so you know if your best is fresh or stale
THE WORKOUT EXPERIENCE
- Tempo guidance per exercise: eccentric, pause, concentric, pause
- Form, tempo and effort logged per set — one tap each, and every one of them optional
- Auto-starting rest timer with one-tap skip
- Simple Mode skips the feedback prompts for a fast session
- Live Activities on the Dynamic Island and Lock Screen
APPLE WATCH, FIRST CLASS
A real Apple Watch app, not a remote control.
- Run the whole workout on the watch with no phone needed
- Open the iPhone mid-session to see a live mirror of it: exercise, set, target and heart rate
- Calories and heart rate sync to Apple Health automatically
BUILD YOUR OWN
- Custom programs with drag-and-drop scheduling
- Quick Workouts for one-off sessions
- 200+ calisthenics exercises with progression chains, form cues, common mistakes and animated demonstrations
ACROSS YOUR DEVICES
- iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch, and on Mac through Designed for iPad
- iCloud sync keeps every device in step
- Home and Lock Screen widgets
- Light and Dark mode, Dynamic Type, VoiceOver and Reduce Motion
- Privacy first: your training data stays between you and Apple. No third-party tracking

2.1.2 1d ago
Support for iPhone Duo, plus minor bug fixes and improvements.
2.1.1 Oct 9
Master a Skill
- Rebuilt from the coaching and research on each skill: every skill is a path of stages, each with its own exercises, a standard to meet on two days and a minimum number of sessions. Handstand trains balance and pressing side by side.
- Holds are sized from your best, and each clean session adds a second or a rep. The first session at a stage tests it.
- Say where you are when you start. A lever or planche hold you can't keep for 3 seconds moves you back a stage by itself.
- Handstand attempts are logged after each try, so you never tap the screen upside down, on Apple Watch too.
- Skill sessions ask about wrist, elbow or shoulder pain, and pain makes the next two sessions lighter.
- The summary and the skill's page show where you stand and what comes next.
You
- Progress is now You: your name and photo at the top, your progress under them, and Settings behind the gear. Pick a photo and move and scale it into the circle; on iPhone it becomes the tab's icon. Both stay on your devices.
- Your four Health tiles are always there and open on your last reading.
- A record is now your best set of an exercise, and the summary and the You tab agree on it. The first time you do an exercise it's marked new, not as a record.
In the workout
- More exercises are animated, and animations now hold each position as long as they're meant to.
- Moving through a workout is calmer: the next set of the same exercise appears in place, and only a new exercise slides in.
- The rest screen is clearer: Form, Tempo and Effort each have their own row of answers, the countdown's bar sits beside the time, and the last three seconds turn coral in time with the ticks you already hear and feel.
- The set that finishes your workout feels like it: a success tap, and a seal that draws its check.
- Turn your iPhone sideways during a workout and the set, the rest and the finish spread across the screen.
- The summary says which movement moved up and what you'll do next session, and just as plainly when one eases back.
- The Lock Screen counts your rest down and names your next set, and your finished workout stays there for up to fifteen minutes.
- Widgets and the watch complication say Done once today's workout is logged.
Today and Programs
- Other workouts for today sit under your card when there's room, and behind a More to do button when there isn't.
- Adjust Plan is a few taps and a checkmark, and takes you straight to the plan it built. If a workout from that plan is still going, it waits for it to end.
- Save a quick workout with the checkmark, then start it now or later.
- Tap the tab you're on to go back to its first screen, and again to scroll to the top.
- Filter by muscle opens a tall figure you can turn, pinch to zoom and tap. On iPad held sideways, it sits beside the list.
Widgets
- The Today widget is redesigned: one colour for the day, and the muscles your workout trains on a figure at every size, including a new extra-large one on iPhone with iOS 27.
- The Strength Level widget shows your level as a ring and each movement as a bar, with the one holding you back in amber and what moves it next.
iPad
- On iPad held sideways, the width is put to use: your plan's week beside your programs, your Health beside your progress, the calendar beside a session in Workout Logs, and an exercise's details beside the list as you add exercises. During a workout, the exercise's demo and what's next sit beside your set.
Apple Watch
- The last set of a workout taps twice, so you feel the finish, and ending early is quiet.
- After midnight, the watch no longer offers yesterday's workout as today's.
For everyone
- The Haptics setting now covers every haptic in the app, and Start taps once, wherever you start.
- At the larger text sizes, labels stack instead of breaking mid-word.
- Reduce Motion is respected in more places, the Level Up screen among them.
- Level Up spells out your new level, a letter at a time.
2.1 Oct 1
Version 2.0 is the biggest change since launch. Tiqan now trains three different goals, adapts inside a session instead of only between them, and the adaptive engine is free.
THREE GOALS, THREE REAL ENGINES
Pick what you are actually training for.
- Build Strength: the six-level ladder, on 3-day Full Body, 4-day Upper/Lower or 6-day Push, Pull, Legs
- Master a Skill: a rung-by-rung ladder to the handstand, front lever, planche or muscle-up. Not strong enough for your skill yet? The plan front-loads the strength you are missing and opens the ladder when you are ready
- Move Better: mobility and functional work that rotates through four zones, so you are not repeating the same six moves forever
- Keep one goal going, or all three at once
IT ADAPTS INSIDE THE SESSION
Most apps only adjust between workouts.
- Reps falling away mid-exercise? Tiqan offers to stop that exercise there and counts what you actually did, instead of watching you grind out junk sets
- Well under your recent numbers after the first set? It offers to finish the day lighter
- Once per exercise, always with a decline. It notices; it does not nag
THE ADAPTIVE ENGINE IS NOW FREE
No trial, no card. Answer a few questions, get a real program, and let it progress you.
Pro moves to the depth: all three goals at once, every skill ladder, the top of the strength ladder, the full insight charts, unlimited custom programs and workouts, and full workouts on Apple Watch. Both plans now start with 7 days free.
A FASTER START
- New setup: goal, days, equipment, experience — then a preview of your real first session before you commit to anything
- Calibration replaces guesswork. A few honest rep counts set your starting level per movement, so your push, pull and legs can start in different places, because they usually do
- More training days now means shorter sessions, not the same session more often
ADJUST A PLAN WITHOUT STARTING OVER
Training three days instead of four? Lost the rings? Adjust Plan changes the two things only you can know — how often you train and what you train with — and rebuilds the program around them. Set it permanently, or just for as long as you are away. You see exactly what will change before anything is applied, and your levels and progress carry over.
REBUILT ALONG THE WAY
- The rest screen is one panel now: form, tempo and effort, one tap each, every one optional, and the reps you logged are editable right there
- Progress opens with a single card for wherever you stand in the goal you are training
- Recovery now reads sleep, HRV against your own baseline, resting heart rate and energy from Apple Health — and tells you which of them it is actually using today
- Programs you archive go somewhere you can find them, restore, or clear out in one pass
- Guidance on training safely, in onboarding and in Settings
- Exercise animations redrawn so they sit properly on a dark background
NOW ON iPAD AND MAC
A real iPad layout with a sidebar and a readable column, and the same app on Mac through Designed for iPad. iCloud keeps them all in step.
Plus a long list of fixes. Thanks for training with Tiqan.

1.7 Jul 3
NEW
- Strength Levels for custom programs — your push, pull, and legs now climb from Foundation to Elite, earned automatically from the workouts you log in good form. No tests to take: just train, and watch your levels rise. See exactly where you stand and what the next rung takes.
- Rest between exercises — your rest timer now carries into the next exercise, not just between sets. On by default, and "Skip Rest" is always one tap away (toggle it in Settings).
- Tap to skip the start countdown — eager to begin? Tap the 3-2-1 to start instantly.
- Rate your last set — the final set of a workout now gets the same form, tempo, and effort feedback as every other set.
IMPROVED
- Insights worth reading — your Activity insights are more honest and more useful. The Recovery card now has a clear zone bar, a plain-English explanation, and pulls in Apple Health signals (sleep, HRV, resting heart rate) when available.
- Recovery that motivates — the recovery score now reads a normal training week as "ready to train" instead of nudging you to rest, and a single off night's sleep no longer drags it down.
- Smarter progress cues — new "close to leveling up" and "it's getting easier" insights, program-aware balance, and clearer, de-jargoned training-load language.
- Finished workouts stand out — today's card turns green the moment you're done, so you can tell at a glance.
- Catch Up, simplified — it surfaces just your most recent missed day, steps aside once you've made it up, and now you can swipe to dismiss it yourself.
- One less step to "done" — a session counts as completed the moment you've logged a set, so there's no "Continue" limbo.
- One-tap finish — the Done button on the workout summary now floats, so you never have to scroll to dismiss.
- History at a glance — each workout log leads with its date, and the detail screen is cleaner.
- Easier filtering — the "Filter by muscle" picker is clearer and smoother to open.
- Apple Watch — smoother timer, rest-between-exercises support, and a tidier "tracking on iPhone" screen.
- A sharper look in Light Mode, plus small refinements across Today and Settings.
FIXED
- Your "new personal record" insight now shows your best set, not the first one logged.
- Today no longer shows yesterday's completed workout after the date rolls over.
- Tidied a few exercise names and progression details.

Bug fixes and improvements
1.6.1 Jun 14
- See exactly what you're training. Every workout now shows an interactive muscle map — front and back — highlighting the primary and secondary muscles you'll hit. It's on your Today card, workout previews, each program (full-week coverage), and your post-workout summary.
- Find exercises by muscle, not jargon. The exercise picker has a new tap-a-muscle filter: tap the body to narrow exercises to the muscles you want to train. Pinch to zoom for the smaller ones.
- A cleaner look at your level. Redesigned level badge and progression details, so your current tier and how far you've come read at a glance.
- Better in Apple Health. Workouts now save with clear names like "Push Day 1 (Calisthenics)" instead of a generic label.
- Richer sounds for starting, set completion, rest timers, and finishing.
- Plus smaller refinements: tap any workout card to preview it, a tidied-up Today screen, and assorted fixes.

APPLE WATCH
