Tennis Nut
Courts, Players & Experts
Only for iPhone
Free · Designed for iPhone. Not verified for macOS.
Playing tennis isn’t just about breaking a sweat. It’s about building your tennis capital.
Every practice session, every match, and every court you step onto becomes part of your Tennis Passport. Over time, your experience, records, connections, and places you’ve played come together to form an identity that is uniquely yours.
Tennis Nut is built for one sport, and one sport only: tennis.
We don’t put ten different sports into the same app, and we’re not here just to help you find your next match. Finding a court and someone to play with is only the beginning. Playing, keeping track of your journey, meeting more players, and getting expert guidance when you need it — that’s what a fulfilling tennis life is about.
■ YOUR TENNIS PASSPORT STARTS WITH YOUR FIRST BALL
If you’re new to tennis, start with your very first time on court. If you’ve been playing for years, build out the courts, matches, tournaments, and gear that have shaped your tennis life.
Your Passport grows with you. You don’t need to be the best — or become a professional player — to have a tennis identity worth keeping.
When meeting someone new to play with, their Passport can help you understand their playing experience, level, match history, and background. Even before your first hit together, there’s more to go on than a vague label like “intermediate” or an NTRP rating alone.
■ BUILD YOUR MAP OF COURTS
Every new court you play on becomes another part of your journey.
A court isn’t just a pin on a map. It’s somewhere you’ve actually been, played, and made part of your tennis life.
From the courts near home to another city — or even another country with a racquet in your bag — your Tennis Passport goes with you.
■ KEEP YOUR REAL MATCH HISTORY
Record your matches and scores, along with tournament divisions, partners, results, and photos.
Years later, you won’t just see a collection of numbers. You’ll see the journey, milestones, and memories of the player you’ve become.
■ COURT INFORMATION, BUILT BY PEOPLE WHO ACTUALLY PLAY
Court surfaces, opening hours, current conditions, and whether people are playing there can all be contributed and updated by players who have actually visited the court.
A report you leave today might be exactly what another player needs before heading out tomorrow.
■ WHEN YOU HAVE A QUESTION, ASK A REAL EXPERT
Tennis technique, tennis-specific fitness, mental performance, and returning to play after injury — not every question has only one answer or belongs to only one field.
Tennis Nut brings experts from different disciplines together around the same question. When needed, multiple perspectives can come together to provide more complete guidance.
Professional knowledge shouldn’t be a barrier you have to get through before you start playing. It should be a resource you can reach when you actually need it.
■ NUTS: PLAY FOR REAL, EARN FOR REAL
Log your practice, visit courts, update court information, and help other players to earn Nuts.
Use your Nuts to get guidance from experts. You don’t have to subscribe to a library of content before you even know what you need.
Play first. Run into a real problem. Then use what you’ve earned by participating in tennis to ask the question that actually matters to you.
Play first. Learn when you need it.
Whether today is your first match or your thousandth, you can keep building from the very next ball.
Tennis Nut
Your tennis life, connected.

Quiet hours, on your terms
Set the hours you don't want to be notified. Separately, set the hours when your own tennis shouldn't notify anyone else. Either can be set to all day. Notifications held back still wait for you in the bell the next morning. Changes to a hit — cancelled, moved — always come through, because missing one means making the trip for nothing.
Court status, updated any time
The one-report-per-day limit is gone. Whoever reported a full court in the morning is the person standing there in the afternoon when it clears, and now they can say so. Status also expires sooner: busy and wet after two hours, damaged and closed after 24.
"You can go now" is a notification too
When a court you follow recovers from busy or closed, you hear about it. Until now only bad news travelled.
See a friend playing, say "I'm coming too"
The top of a court page shows which friends us how many other players are there. One tapopens a hit and invites them. With no friends on court, it still tells you how many people are playing.
Courts you can't walk into now look different
Courts inside military bases and port areas on the map, labelled "restricted" on thecard, and no longer appear when you pick a court for a hit. You can still see them, and playing there still counts.
The collective footprint map
Tap a lit court to see the faces of everyonequering a new court now offers a way into the shared map too.
Teammates you've already met
Same team, same court, same day — but not frnow names them, and adding them takes onetap.
A broken screen is no longer a black one
If a page fails, you get a screen that can st wrong. Go back and carry on, or send thedetails to the developer in one tap — no screenshot, no version number to remember.
Fixes
· Tapping "Orthophoto" showed the street mapets" to get the aerial imagery. Fixed — eachbutton now does what it says.
· The court card is tidier: status now readsof a date, and what was five lines is two.
· One person arriving at one court no longer notifies you twice.
1.17.0 Sep 29
"Playing now" now means someone is actually playing
Being near a court used to be enough to count, so anyone who lives beside
one showed up as playing all day. Now two things have to be true: you're at
the court, and you've actually logged a practice or a match.
The arrival radius is tighter too — 100 metres instead of 200.
The map has a second layer: Played today
Only a handful of courts have someone on them right now, but far more have
been played on today. The two are drawn separately now: dark for playing
now, light for played today.
Practices and matches you log after you've left the court still count
towards your stats and still earn nuts. The ones that were missed have
been credited.
Shared ground
Your home screen used to say "around here" — but that isn't where you are,
it's where you play. Now it says what it means: players who've been on a
court in the same city as you in the last six months, and aren't your
friends yet. Play in more than one city? Pick which one you're looking at.
Every row says who they are and where they'd go
The week view used to show a name and a time. Now every row carries their
level, and every court they named — no more trailing "…", which is exactly
where your regular court tended to be hiding.
Starter guide
Not sure where to begin? There's a starter guide inside "Talk to the
developer". New players also get one more step at setup: pin a court you
play at.
Also fixed
• You can back out of writing a gear review halfway through
• Opening the week view from a notification no longer traps you there
• Team-only hits are no longer visible outside the team
• Courts you've favourited now count towards "who's free nearby"
1.16.3 Sep 28
This release opens up the whole path to finding a hit.
Players nearby
- Your home screen now lists free-time windows posted by players in the cities you play in — level and bio included. Log one practice and they start appearing.
- You can now ask them directly. They get "you asked them", not an announcement.
- "See the week" defaults to a list showing everyone; the calendar is one tap away.
Hits
- Hits can be cancelled, right from the home screen; withdrawing a time slot asks first.
- Arrival card: appears before a session starts — check in with "I'm here", share where you are and what you're wearing. Can't find each other? One tap turns both phones into a bright full-screen sign.
The conquest map
- Passport's Court Conquest now opens a map of every court Nut players have ever reached — lit counties and all — with your own share counted. Every session you log lights it up a little more.
- Court pages now show how many players have played there.
Also
- Friends get notified when you post free time; past slots can no longer be picked.
- Hybrid-strung rackets: both mains and crosses can be picked in gear posts.
- Developer chat updates live. Dates now show as 9/23 (Tue).
1.15.0 Sep 24
Players free nearby
- New on the home screen: the times posted by people in the cities you actually play in — people you haven't met yet. Leave one practice record
and they start showing up; nothing to declare, nothing to switch on.
- Their level and a line of their bio now sit right there. Deciding whether to ask someone you've never met comes down to those one or two lines.
"Who's free" is one card now
Your own times, your friends', and the people nearby used to live in three separate cards — and two of them were answering the same question. They're one card now, in that order, each section labelled.
- Ask is the same button everywhere. Hosts and guests, friends and strangers: the same shape for the same action.
- When someone says "anywhere in Taichung", the court picker lists courts in Taichung. It used to list your own favourites, which might all be in another city — under a heading that said Taichung.
Dates you can read
- "Free on Thursday" never said which Thursday. It's "Free 9/23 (Thu)" now. Today and tomorrow stay as words; they were never ambiguous.
- "This week" is "Last 7 days", which is what it always counted.
Also
- Share cards come in a story size (9:16) as well as the square one.
- On is now in the shoe brands, so the Roger Pro doesn't have to go in as "Other".
- The cities you've played in count for six months. One trip shouldn't put that city on your home screen forever.
- Once you've asked a specialist something, the home screen stops introducing them.
1.13.0 Sep 20
Hits
- Cancelling a hit is now a button with a label on it. Hosts used to get an
unlabelled icon while everyone else got "I'm in" / "Can't make it", and a
lot of people never recognised it as cancel.
- You can also cancel straight from the hit on your home screen, without
going to the court first.
Your free time
- Withdrawing a window you've posted now asks first, and shows which window
— that button sat right next to "edit", so a miss deleted it outright.
Courts
- The court card now shows opening hours, pricing, phone and website. That
information was always there; it just never made it onto the screen.
- In team mode, every team based at a court draws its own badge on the map,
and teams without a badge each get their own colour instead of a row of
identical circles.
- "Players on court" counts people rather than courts.
Friends and records
- Friends you just added are marked "new" and sorted to the top.
- Pending requests are re-checked when you open the friends page.
- Your friends and the people you've played recently are listed right above
the opponent and partner fields when you log a match. One tap fills the
name, and the match is recorded on their passport too, once they confirm.
- People who already have matches are no longer prompted to log their first.
Changes show up straight away
These used to need the app closed and reopened. They don't any more:
- Editing your profile — bio, photo, handedness, backhand, level, years
playing, how often you play.
- Your bio can now be cleared.
- "Tennis Nut this week" on the home screen.
- The bell count moves when a push arrives while the app is open.
Also
- Fixed video upload on the free plan.
- Coaches can send longer videos.
- File size is checked before an upload starts, not after it fails.
- Fixed layout overflow when the keyboard opens.
1.12.4 Sep 18
Courts
- The court card now shows opening hours, pricing, phone and website. That
information was always there; it just never made it onto the screen.
- In team mode, every team based at a court draws its own badge on the map,
instead of collapsing everything after the first into a "+1".
- "Players on court" counts people rather than courts.
Friends
- Friends you just added are marked "new" and sorted to the top.
- Pending requests are re-checked when you open the friends page, rather
than waiting for the next cold start.
Logging a match
- Your friends and the people you've played recently are now listed right
above the opponent and partner fields. One tap fills the name, and the
match is recorded on their passport too, once they confirm.
- People who already have matches are no longer prompted to log their first.

1.12.3 Sep 17
Home screen
- "Tennis Nut this week" — how many players logged tennis, how many courts
were checked into, updated and reported across the whole app this week,
with your own practices and matches underneath.
- "Players around here" — people who have played near the courts you play
at and aren't your friends yet. Send a request straight from the card.
- The page is grouped into sections, with consistent type and colour.
Talk to the developer
Ask anything or share an idea, and get a notification when there's a reply.
Find it on the consultation tab.
Match records
- Record tiebreak points.
- Matches decided by a single match tiebreak are now supported.
Friends
- Add a note to a friend request so they know who you are.
- See who is asking when a request arrives, not just a name.
Courts
- Courts show who filled in their details.
- Staying at a court and completing a check-in now leaves a verification
on that court.
- Favourites explain themselves: once added, you're told when a court is
full, wet or damaged.
- Court conquest counts matches and check-ins, not only practices.
- You choose which region you're conquering; it no longer follows your
phone's language.
Also
- Your bio appears where other players can see it.
- A link to the LINE official account, where news and events are posted.
- Smaller download.
- Stronger protection for personal data.
1.12.0 Sep 15
This release is about finding people to play with.
Players around here
People who play near your courts and aren't your friends yet now appear on your home screen — with their level and their intro, and a button to send a request. The same list sits on each court's card.
Know who's asking
Friend requests now say "you have both played at ○○" — because that's exactly why they could see you.
Your intro is visible to players you haven't met
That's who it was written for. We tell you once after updating, and you can edit it any time.
Who filled this in
Court cards now credit the players who completed the data — name, surface, number of courts, lights, opening hours.
More accurate court conquest
GPS-confirmed check-ins now count. The number on your passport and the one on a memorial photo finally match.
Also
• A short one-page tour after updating
• Two privacy fixes: a public player ID no longer returns an email or phone number, and the coach directory no longer carries contact details
• Smaller download
1.10.0 Sep 14
Gear posts
・Write what your racket, shoes or string is actually like to play with —
everyone can read it.
・You're told when someone finds your post useful. Three people marking a
post helpful earns you 10 nuts.
・Long posts collapse.
Players who've been here
・A court's page now lists people who have also played there, and you can
send a friend request straight from it.
Home court
・The second time you visit the same court, the app asks whether to make it
your home court.
Teams
・Arranging a hit at your team's home court can now be for the team only.
・The same goes for posting when you're free.
・Team invite links now open.
・Teams show in bright blue on the map, and keep just the crest when you
zoom out.
Also
・Logging a match tells you when the a friend.
・The home screen's event card can be dismissed.
・373 courts added in Brisbane.
・The nuts page now explains how gear posts earn nuts, and corrects two
amounts it was under-reporting: 15, 50 for
submitting a new court.
1.9.0 Sep 12
Adding friends is much easier. "Add a friend" now lives in the centre +
button — two taps, no more scrolling to the bottom of your passport. If you
haven't added anyone yet, the home screen shows you how.
"Scan" opens the camera straight away. If they're not next to you, paste
their player ID instead, or send them an invite.
After you play, we'll ask whether you want to log it. The court and date are
already filled in — just adjust the time.
Rate a session three balls or below and we'll ask what went wrong, then draft
the question for you. You can read it and edit it before deciding whether to
send it to a coach.
Fixes
・Sharing or saving a practice image could fail
・"My code" did nothing when tapped
・Notifications were allowed but never arrived
・The submit button on court reports scrolled out of sight
・New "Not a tennis court" report option
Settings now has a "Send diagnostics" switch. With it on, error details are
sent back when something breaks so we can see what went wrong — never your
logs, photos or location, and you can turn it off any time.
1.8.0 Sep 10
Teams
Add a Teams view to the map: when selected, only courts that are home to a team will remain visible, with the team badge shown on the court.
Add a team activity feed.
Team captains can transfer the captain role to another member.
Increase the maximum number of teams each user can create from 2 to 5.
Expert Consultation
Change multi-expert consultation to a registration-based system.
When a consultation is being closed, ask the user to confirm whether they agree to close the case.
After a practice session, if the user gives it a low rating, allow them to turn it into a question for expert consultation.
Courts & Map
Add an Indoor filter for rainy-day use. This includes roofed tennis courts as well as indoor practice facilities.
Add Practice Facility as a new venue type. It will be shown in teal, but will not count toward the user's courts visited total.
Pin the Submit button to the bottom of the Add Court screen so users do not need to scroll all the way down.
Practice Log
Add Ball Machine Practice as a new practice type.
Share Cards
If sharing fails, show a Share Failed message, or save the image and return the user to the share panel.
Add progressive fallback for screenshot rendering: if 3.0× fails, retry at 2.0×, then 1.0×.
Other
Racquets that are not marked as the primary racquet will now also be visible when friends view the user's Tennis Passport.
Fix the Nuts animation.
Remove mixed Chinese and English text from the Delete Practice confirmation dialog.
1.7.2 Sep 8
Friends now have a page of their own. Tap Friends in your passport for the
full list — searchable, sortable, and no longer collapsing halfway through.
Each player shows their practice count and the line they wrote about
themselves.
You can also sort friends into your own groups, like "Weekend hitters" or
"North". Groups are private to you; nobody is ever told which group they
are in.
Three fixes: your current shoes stayed hidden from friends after you retired
an old pair; checking in anonymously still notified your friends; and
notification permission is now asked right after you've done something,
rather than on first launch.
1.7.0 Sep 5
New
・Onboarding now ends with your player QR. Someone you just played with scans it and you are added to each other's list — no ID to read out, no need to go looking for the feature.
・113 courts in Okinawa. Names were recovered from surrounding park and sports-centre data, taking the share with a real name from 10% to 59%.
・Partner events on the home screen are now filtered by distance. Previously it showed the five soonest anywhere; an event in Taipei no longer lands on a Kaohsiung player's home screen.
Fixed
・The daily nut claim is retired. It had been removed from the app but was still live on the server, so some people hit an error on their first day. Nuts already claimed are not being taken back.
・The "I'm here" card now appears on its own. Its window opens two hours before a session starts, but nothing was refreshing the screen when that moment passed, so it only showed up after a pull-to-refresh.
・7,287 courts were marked "no lights" when the truth was that nobody had checked — an import default, not fieldwork. Those are back to "unknown". Courts verified on site are unchanged.
・Adding a friend now asks for a player ID or a QR scan. The old hint offered name and email search, which required an exact match and almost never worked.
Changed
・Home cards now use two levels instead of each card inventing its own border.
・Coach bios go from 200 to 800 characters, and the field opens at four lines. That one box is everything a student reads before deciding to spend nuts.
・Empty states for practice logs, favourites and court conquest share one tone.
1.6.0 Sep 3
My Free Times: say which days you're free and what you want to play. Friends see how many hours you overlap; one tap sends an invitation with the time and court already in it — no more starting from "when are you free?"
Invitations can now name who they're for. That person gets "X asked you", not an announcement, and nobody else is disturbed.
At the court: an arrival card appears on your home screen two hours before. Tap I'm here, and add where you are and what colour you're wearing. Running late notifies the others. Can't find each other? Both phones light up with Over here — like holding a sign at an airport.
Favourite courts now sort by distance, with the kilometres shown. Tap to see them all without leaving the card.
Fixes: picking 23:45 no longer saves as 23:50; new sessions default to today rather than tomorrow; duplicate invitations are blocked; the English interface is complete, including weekday names.
1.5.0 Aug 31
Sticker sharing
Turn a practice, match or new court into a transparent sticker for your own video or photo. Share to IG Story takes it straight into Instagram. Records without a photo can be shared too.
One look for cards and stickers
Photo cards now show your visits and player number at the court.
Teams
See hits played together and courts the team has visited. Captains can edit the team.
Also: friends' racket and shoes, invitees can ask before joining, free/paid court filter.
