• The maps now identify Forest Weather to the OpenStreetMap servers, as their usage policy requires, so the standard map stays reliably available.

• More realistic Afterglow predictions: clear skies and broken low cloud no longer score too low, and the sky toward the sun is now judged much further out. • The widgets now also work on iOS 16.

• After changing the map size or location, the map now zooms to fit the new area, and the map button returns to that view. • Changing an alert threshold updates the map straight away, without downloading the map data again.

• Arriving in another time zone now refreshes the forecast instead of keeping the times from where you came from. • The map no longer shows weather data that was cached far from where you are.

• Fixed sunrise times being shown in the previous location's time zone after switching to a location elsewhere. • Sunrise times are drawn faster.

• Small wording fix in the Sunrays table alert.

• A new Sunrays row in the table shows which hours have the humidity and sunshine that make sunrays likely. • The maps open faster and no longer depend on an outside service. • Dew and frost are no longer predicted for hours when it is raining or snowing.

New weather model: UKMO UKV for the UK.

KNMI observations on the map are easier to read.

Map improvements.

• KNMI station measurements on the hourly map at now: switch them on in Settings to see observed visibility and humidity next to the forecast field (Netherlands only). • The map's legend, readout and update bar now follow the dark theme instead of staying light. • The Dutch weather sites card has been removed from the Overview page.

The "use two fingers to move the map" hint now appears only the first few times, instead of on every one-finger drag.

Aurora update

• The map loads about twice as fast: the forecast grid now arrives in a compact format instead of as text. • Settings: a new "Map resolution" option. High draws a finer grid, Low stays quicker and lighter on data. • The map now says so when the server is busy, instead of just coming up empty. • Sunrise map: a tidier tap readout, with the moon phase drawn as in the table.

• Hourly map: a new button jumps to the next sunrise plus a faster, tidier refresh. • Settings: "Clear cached data" frees storage while keeping your locations, alerts and settings.

• Aurora alerts no longer miss a match in the moments just after the app opens.

• The map no longer shows a forecast where the model has no data that far ahead. It says so instead. • The 48h map always covers the full 48 hours, whatever the age of the stored data.

• Sunrise and sunset times now match everywhere: table, overview, maps, locations and the widget. • Tap the map to see where the sun and moon rise and set, drawn on the map with their times.

• Fixed: with locations on different continents, one location could blank out the alerts for all the others. • Fewer repeated network requests when a data source is temporarily unavailable.

• Map sources are now fully credited on the About page. • New: aurora row in the forecast table. Shows the planetary Kp index hour by hour, colour coded from quiet to storm, so you can see at a glance when the northern lights are worth chasing. Tap the row label to open Aurora Live. Can be switched off in Settings. • Kp data comes from NOAA SWPC and is credited on the About page.

• Tap the map to read the conditions at any spot, on both the sunrise and hourly maps. Tap again to dismiss. • Tidier hourly map: the timeline shows the day and time, and the legend names the current view.

• Tap anywhere on the map to see that spot's sunrise conditions: visibility, humidity and sun.

No fucntional updates

• Minor fixes and refinements.

• New: hourly map (48h button). Scrub through the next 48 hours on the map with layers for visibility, alerts, humidity, cloud cover and snow. Tap the map for exact values, or press play to watch it like a radar loop. • The +24h map view now comes from the same data fetch, so less data usage. • Map legends show the day name; small map and color refinements.
