SocialHuman
Real people, captured live.
Only for iPhone
Free · In‑App Purchases · Designed for iPhone. Not verified for macOS.
SocialHuman is a social network where every post is real. It's an AI-free space where every photo and video is captured live through your phone camera and verified by our forensic engine before it goes live. There's no upload button and no gallery picker.
How it works:
Open the camera, take a photo or shoot a video, and that's your post. Our verification system checks sensor data, EXIF metadata, and behavioral signals to confirm the content came from a real device held by a real person. Verified posts get a trust badge, and anything that fails gets flagged.
Your Trust Score tracks your history of verified, authentic content. It's visible on your profile and grows over time as you keep posting real moments.
What makes SocialHuman different:
- Camera-only capture, with no gallery picker or upload button.
- What the camera saw is what everyone sees, with no filters, skin smoothing, or face reshaping.
- Video, built in. Record, trim, mute, and draw right in the app, with on-device auto-captions that never send your audio to a server.
- Stories that share a moment and then disappear, under the same live-capture rule.
- Anti-bot text input that validates every keystroke and blocks paste and programmatic input.
- Trust scores you earn through verified posting rather than buy.
- Private circles for sharing with smaller groups.
- End-to-end encrypted direct messages that no one else can read.
Built in Helsinki, Finland, under EU privacy law.
SocialHuman Premium (optional paid subscription) unlocks verification insights, trust score analytics, pinned posts, accent colors, longer captions, extended videos, comment reactions, and more.

Uploads on a slow connection now finish more often. A photo or clip that keeps uploading slowly is no longer cut off, and an upload that fails tries again by itself.
The request to save to your photos now says SocialHuman saves the photos and videos you take to your Photos library.
1.0.24 Oct 15
Improvements to video recording and editing, and bug fixes.
1.0.23 Sep 30
Tap to focus. Tap anywhere on the camera preview to focus on exactly what you want sharp, and to set the brightness for that part of the picture. A small hand-drawn square marks the spot. Focus hands itself back once the scene moves, and pinch to zoom works as before.
Sharper photos. Photos now use your iPhone's full photography pipeline, including Deep Fusion and Night mode. Low light and fine detail benefit the most.
Sharper video. Video is saved in a newer, roughly twice-as-efficient format, so the same file size holds more detail and fast movement smears less. Older iPhones keep the previous format automatically.
Screenshots carry the SocialHuman mark. It is invisible while you use the app and appears only in the picture a screenshot saves, so a shared screenshot shows where it came from.
The camera and editing screens are now blank in screenshots, screen recordings and mirroring, so a tool capturing your screen cannot copy what you are about to post. Your own screen looks completely normal.
Fixed: opening the in-person handshake QR code while your screen was being recorded or mirrored could turn the app black until you force-quit it.

Right Now is switched on for everyone. Once in a while, at a moment picked just for you, the app nudges you to film six seconds of whatever you are actually doing. Everyone gets a different time - deliberately, because one shared time is always the wrong time for almost everyone. Tap the notification and the camera opens ready to go.
This update also makes Right Now's smarter timing work reliably: if you have granted motion access, the quiet check that looks for a good moment now always reaches the app.
1.0.21 Aug 19
Posting a video is now much faster: a one-minute video publishes in seconds instead of over a minute, and single-take posts use about half the data. We also fixed rare upload freezes on unstable connections. Faster, lighter, same proven-human feed.
1.0.20 Aug 14
Groundwork for Right Now, our upcoming once-in-a-while 6-second video prompt: mid-take camera flip, plus a fix so a slow-motion cut that plays past your plan's limit is caught before upload instead of after.
1.0.19 Aug 13
Right Now — something new, once a day.
Once a day, at a moment picked just for you, we'll nudge you to film six seconds of whatever you're actually doing. Everyone gets a different time, because one shared time is always the wrong time for almost everyone.
Tap the notification and the camera opens ready to go. One tap films exactly six seconds and stops on its own — no editing, no retakes hidden away. That's the point. Don't like the take? Throw it away and film another.
You get thirty minutes to answer, and we check that against the recording itself rather than the moment you pressed post, so a slow upload on a bad signal never costs you the window.
Answer a few days running and a stopwatch appears next to your name. Miss one and the run resets, but the colour you earned is yours to keep — and a day we never asked you about can never break your streak.
You can switch Right Now off any time in Settings > Notifications, and hide the badge in Settings > Badges.
1.0.18 Aug 10
Invites, fixed properly.
Tap a friend's invite link and SocialHuman now opens straight away instead of bouncing you through a web page. And if you're installing for the first time, we hold on to who invited you through the install, so they actually get the credit.
You'll also see who invited you while you're signing up, and they're the first person we suggest you follow.
Also in this update:
- Your captions are stored exactly as you typed them, with no automatic rewriting of dashes and quotes.
- Trimming a video is handled more cleanly behind the scenes.
1.0.17 Aug 3
The video editor got a big upgrade.
- Volume per clip. Make one clip quieter or completely silent without touching the rest. On iPhone you can also push a too-quiet clip above normal loudness.
- Speed per clip. Half speed, normal, 1.5x or 2x, with the clip resizing on the timeline so you can see exactly how long the finished video will run.
- Reframe by pinching. Pinch to zoom into a clip and drag to choose what stays in frame, so you can punch in on the part that matters or recentre an off-centre shot.
- Undo and redo for every trim, split, delete, reorder and effect, so experimenting is safe.
- Your editing work now saves with filming drafts. Leave a multi-session capture and come back later, and your trims, splits and effects are still there.
- Scrub anywhere on the preview by dragging the video itself, plus a fullscreen toggle and a clearer clip tools row.
- Small badges on each clip show which ones have had their volume, speed or framing changed.
The handshake code screen now blocks screenshots and screen recordings, and instantly replaces a code if a capture somehow slips through.
1.0.16 Jul 20
New: hardware-backed capture proof. Your device's secure hardware now signs a fingerprint of the exact photo or video you captured, proving it came from the genuine SocialHuman app on a real device. Fully automatic; posting works exactly as before if your device can't provide it.
New: a faster, smoother video editor with instant preview of your trims and clip reordering.
Plus various fixes and improvements.
1.0.15 Jul 10
• Save your own videos with captions and on-screen text baked in — when you save a copy to your gallery, choose to keep your overlays or leave them out.
• Sign up and log in faster with your password manager (iCloud Keychain, 1Password, Bitwarden, and more).
• More reliable posting on weak connections — fewer posts fail or get held up for review.
• Starting a new photo or video no longer loses a post that's still uploading.
• Smoother sign-up, plus a range of fixes and polish.
1.0.14 Jul 8
New: on-device auto-captions for videos. Tap Generate captions in the review screen to transcribe your audio and drop timed word overlays onto your clip (Premium).
Also: a clip-by-clip video editor with timed text overlays, a story Like (tap the heart and the author gets a notification), Top Post badges for the week's most popular posts, smoother story viewing, and more reliable background uploads.
1.0.13 Jun 24
New: Save to gallery
A download button on your own posts now saves your photos and videos straight to your phone. Saved videos come with a SocialHuman watermark and your username, so anything you reshare elsewhere stays branded. What you post in the app, and any copies auto-saved on publish, stay clean.
Fixed: Keyboard
The comment box and message box now sit neatly right above the keyboard while you type, on both iPhone and Android. No more overlap or empty gaps below the input.
1.0.12 Jun 16
New in this version:
• Save to your gallery — photos and videos you post now save to your phone automatically, in full quality with no text or caption overlays. It's on by default; turn it off anytime under Settings → Camera.
• Longer multi-clip videos — the old 15-clip limit is gone, so you can stitch together many more clips into a single video. Recording quality is also more consistent across devices.
1.0.11 Jun 1
- New: "Safety number changed" banner when a contact's encryption identity rotates (e.g. they reinstalled). Tap to compare the 60-digit number with them over a separate channel.
- New: account-switch confirmation step when signing into a different account on a device that already has encryption keys for someone else.
- Improvement: DM encryption keys live only on your device. Reinstalling rotates your identity, and previous conversations on that device become unreadable.
1.0.10 May 23
New: Followers-only posts — when publishing a post, tap "Public" below the caption to switch it to "Followers only". A followers-only post is visible only to people who follow you (with an accepted follow), even if your profile is public. Doesn't apply to circle posts, which are already restricted to circle members.
Improvements:
• Lighter inline "What is vouching?" tooltip on profiles, instead of a fullscreen popup.
• Cleaner undo arrow icon when recording multi-clip videos.
• Softer styling on the delete-clip button during recording.
• Tidier iOS navigation headers — no more redundant back-button labels.
Fixes:
• "Continue with Google" sign-in button no longer clips the word "Google" on Android.
• Bold text now renders correctly across login, onboarding, and the home tab empty-state on Android.
• "Preparing…" indicator no longer lingers after deleting all your recorded video segments.
1.0.9 May 18
- Pinch-to-zoom on feed photos (image lifts out of post card, snaps back when released)
- Pinch-to-zoom also works on photos in the comment view
- Fix: Samsung Android videos no longer appear zoomed-in compared to camera viewfinder (codec rotation bug)
- Fix: failed comment submissions now show why (rate limit, network, etc.) instead of silently disappearing
1.0.6 May 15
Smoother video upload, video feed and verification process.
Small bug fixes, like video rotation on camera flip.
1.0.5 May 14
Uploads on a slow connection now finish more often. A photo or clip that keeps uploading slowly is no longer cut off, and an upload that fails tries again by itself.
The request to save to your photos now says SocialHuman saves the photos and videos you take to your Photos library.
