Winner of the 2026 Swift Student Challenge. AeroFresco redefines how you interact with your device by turning the empty space in front of you into a digital canvas. Built entirely with native Apple frameworks, this app uses your camera to track your hand movements and translate them into beautiful digital ink, no stylus or screen-touching required.
It takes a moment to learn, but once you master the spatial gestures, drawing in the air feels completely natural. We built a highly optimized, real-time tracking pipeline to ensure your strokes follow your hands as smoothly and accurately as possible right out of the box.
How it works:
• Thin Brush: Point your index finger forward while curling your other fingers to draw precise lines.
• Bold Brush: Extend your index and middle fingers together for a thicker, expressive stroke.
• Pause Ink: Make a "pistol" shape by extending your thumb out. This stops the ink flow so you can move your hand across the screen to a new spot without leaving a trail.
• Change Colors: While in the "Pause" shape, pinch your thumb and index finger together to cycle through your palette.
Co-op Mode
You aren't limited to just one brush. AeroFresco can track multiple hands simultaneously. You can use both of your hands at the same time to create complex, symmetrical artwork, or invite a friend to step into the camera frame and draw right alongside you.
Powered by PencilKit
AeroFresco doesn't just draw lines on a screen; it utilizes Apple’s native rendering engine. Your air-strokes are translated into high-quality vector paths that look incredibly crisp, scale perfectly, and respond naturally.
Privacy First
Everything runs 100% locally on your device. The camera feed is processed in real-time to track your joints and is instantly discarded. No video is ever recorded, saved, or shared.
