Optaxis Converter — a batch file conversion tool designed for medium and large format photographers.
Convert between TIFF / DNG / JPEG / HEIC / PNG, watch a folder for auto-conversion, and brand your output with text watermarks.
Key Features:
• True 10-bit HEIC — 1.07 billion colors, smooth gradients with no banding
• Multi-format I/O — input TIFF / DNG / JPEG / HEIC / PNG, output HEIC / JPEG / PNG
• Folder watch — pick a folder and new files auto-convert, perfect for Capture One tether workflows
• Text watermark — 9-grid placement, serif / SF font, adjustable size and opacity, preserves 10-bit depth
• Batch conversion — drag and drop files or folders, convert all at once
• Flexible sizing — keep original resolution or output at 4K for sharing
• Four quality presets — Lossless / Ultra / Standard / Compact
• Full metadata preservation — EXIF, IPTC, GPS data fully retained
• Wide color gamut — native Display P3 and HDR support
• Completion notifications — system banner alerts when batch jobs finish
Why HEIC over JPEG?
• 10-bit depth vs JPEG's 8-bit — richer tonal range
• 30-50% smaller than JPEG at equivalent quality
• Native wide color gamut (P3) and HDR — JPEG is limited to sRGB
• Native Apple ecosystem support — Preview, Photos, Final Cut compatible
Built for:
• Phase One / Hasselblad / ALPA medium format tether workflows
• Reverse iPhone HEIC → JPEG for non-Apple recipients
• Batch TIFF archive optimization
• Watermark + compress in one step before community sharing
