Vernis — your art companion at the museum. Point your iPhone at an artwork — Vernis recognises it and tells you its story, like a passionate critic whispering a secret in your ear. Not an encyclopedia entry. A story. — NO PARTNERSHIP NEEDED — Louvre, Orsay, Prado, MoMA, Tate, Uffizi or the small gallery around the corner. Check your museum's coverage in the app before you go. — OFFICIAL SOURCES — Over 7 million artworks. Stories are built on the open data of museums and institutions: Smithsonian, Harvard Art Museums, Rijksmuseum, Te Papa, Europeana and more. Everything traced, everything sourced. — SIX WAYS TO TELL IT — Artist, guide, friend, parent, critic, influencer: the same artwork from six angles. — UP TO 5 ARTWORKS IN A ROW — Scan as you walk: Vernis queues the artworks and tells them in order. — THE SIGNATURE GESTURE — Raise your iPhone to your ear: the story moves to the earpiece, one-on-one. Lower it: back to the speaker. — 12 LANGUAGES — English, French, Spanish, German, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch, Japanese, Chinese, Korean, Arabic, Hindi. — YOUR COLLECTION — Every story you hear stays in your collection, to replay after your visit. — PRIVACY — No personal data collected. Photos are used only to identify the artwork. Vernis is free to download. The day pass (one-time purchase) unlocks unlimited narrations for 24 hours, starting from your first story.
