An extension that adds a second language of subtitles to the video you are already watching. Drag the subtitle anywhere you like. Rubi is a Safari extension that adds a second line of subtitles to videos you watch in Safari. It leaves the site's own subtitles untouched and adds one more language underneath. Listen in English while reading subtitles in both English and your own language at the same time. SUPPORTED SITES - YouTube - Netflix - Disney+ - Amazon Prime Video - TED - Udemy - Coursera GETTING STARTED 1. Open a supported site in Safari and tap "aA" in the address bar 2. Choose "Manage Extensions" and turn Rubi on 3. Tap Rubi in the same menu and choose "Always Allow" Open the app and these steps are shown with illustrations. You only set this up once. WHAT IT DOES - Shows a second language on top of the subtitles the service already displays - Drag the subtitle with your finger to place it wherever you like - Keeps showing while the video is in full screen WHO IT IS FOR - Language learners who want to check meaning without pausing - Anyone studying Korean, Spanish or another language through film and television - Listeners who only need help with the lines they missed Rubi does not stream or provide any video. Playback happens entirely in Safari, under your own account. The subtitles it shows come from the subtitle data each site already serves to you while you are signed in. Rubi does not export or share that data. The only things kept are the words and subtitle lines you choose to save to your word book, and they stay on your device. A Netflix or Disney+ subscription is required for those services. YouTube works for free. LEARNING TOOLS - Tap a word in the subtitles to look it up and save it to your word book (definitions and AI explanations need iOS 26 / macOS 26 or later) - Repeat a line, jump to the previous or next line, play at 0.5x to 1.5x, and browse the full transcript - Review saved words in the app. Each one shows which title and moment it came from, and tapping it reopens that scene in Safari RUBI PRO The learning tools are free for 1 hour a day. Subscribe to Rubi Pro (monthly) to use them with no time limit. New subscribers get the first month free. Second subtitles are always free. Payment is charged to your Apple Account. The subscription renews automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can cancel in Settings → Apple Account → Subscriptions.
