Support for iPhone Duo. The tuner now lays out properly whether the phone is folded or unfolded, in portrait or landscape, and stays clear of the side tab bar. Updated support and privacy policy URLs

A steadier needle, especially on low strings. • Smoother tuning needle. The needle now glides instead of bouncing while a string rings, which makes low E and A strings (and bass) much easier to read. It still jumps right away when you switch strings or play a new note, and the in-tune lock is just as quick as before. This applies to iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch. • No screen freeze when the tuner starts. Starting the tuner, switching audio inputs, and playing a reference tone no longer briefly freeze the screen.

What's New in Version 1.2.4 This update makes Centimental available on many more devices: the app now supports iPhones and iPads running iOS 17 or later, and Apple Watch models on watchOS 10 or later. Attack Mute now works as intended. After each pluck, the needle briefly holds while the note settles, so you never see the false spike from the attack transient. Pick Off, Short, Medium, or Long in Settings. The note name still updates live while the needle waits. Apple Watch fixes • The watch now asks for microphone permission the first time you start tuning. Previously, a fresh install could leave the tuner silently unresponsive until you restarted the app. • The microphone indicator now clears properly when the tuner stops. Other fixes • Stopping the tuner right after unplugging a USB-C interface no longer restarts it unexpectedly. • If you use a custom reference pitch such as 432 or 442 Hz, the target frequency shown before your first pluck now reflects your setting instead of 440 Hz. • The Noise Gate and Strum Sensitivity descriptions in Settings now accurately describe how your settings are applied on the built-in microphone versus an external interface. • You can specify the channel if plugged into a multi-channel interface Happy tuning!

The tuner now follows big pitch changes smoothly. When you tune a string up or down through several semitones (a fresh string, drop tunings, or intonation work) the needle sweeps through every note along the way instead of appearing to freeze until the pitch nears its target. This applies to every theme. Normal tuning close to the target note is unchanged. Also: the Hack the Planet theme now shows its terminal fortune line on iPad in landscape.

Support for multi-input audio interfaces. If you use a multi-channel interface like a Focusrite Scarlett, you can now choose which input Centimental listens to. Plug your instrument into any jack, then open Settings > Audio Input > Input Channel and pick the matching channel. The picker appears automatically when a multi-channel interface is connected. Previously the tuner only listened to the first channel, so an instrument in the second jack stayed silent.

This update focuses on reliability and polish. • Apple Watch: fixed an occasional glitch where part of a theme could flash a solid colored square. Watch themes now animate more smoothly and pause cleanly when your wrist is down. • iPad: the Themes grid shows more themes at a glance, and the Strings and Settings screens are easier to read. • A more visual welcome: first-run setup now previews each theme, so you can see what you're choosing. • A clearer Pro screen: see exactly what Centimental Pro includes and what it costs, with Restore Purchase one tap away. • Easier string selection: the active-string indicator is now on by default, and tapping a string selects it instantly — even before you play a note. Plus assorted bug fixes and under-the-hood improvements. Thanks for tuning with Centimental!

REFERENCE TONE: Need a pitch to tune against by ear? Open Settings, tap Reference Tone, pick any note and octave, and play it. It follows your reference pitch setting. Free for everyone. APPLE WATCH FIXES: Fixed a display glitch where parts of a theme could briefly flash a solid color, and resolved layout clipping that could cut off the note on some watch faces. POLISH AND RELIABILITY: Centered the Split Bar layout, made pitch detection faster and more consistent across iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch, and tightened up how the app handles connected audio interfaces. The Noise Gate setting now takes effect instantly while tuning.

iCloud sync is now free for everyone in v1.1 — turn it on under Settings → Sync to share your preferences, favorites, and custom tunings across every device signed in to your iCloud account. Off by default. Theme polish: • Pure Flame now sits flush with the bottom of the screen on every device. • Color Gradient, Spectrum Spotlight, and Traffic Light share a consistent, refined layout across iPhone and iPad in both orientations. • Neon Crosshairs and Shooting Stars are now properly vertically centered. • Color Gradient's orb has a richer pulse that intensifies as you approach in-tune. Apple Watch: • A more focused theme picker — five themes that didn't render cleanly on the smaller display are now iPhone/iPad only. • The tuner holds the last detected note on screen between plucks, so you can glance at it while still playing. • Microphone sensitivity recalibrated for the wrist-near-instrument use case. Plus a handful of small bug fixes and a copy pass across Settings and the User Guide. Thanks for using Centimental.
