Zmanim, Minyanim, Halacha
Free · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.
Meet "Siddur HaYom" - your new daily companion for Jewish life, built with care to be with you from dawn until well after nightfall.
What's inside?
• A smart, dynamic siddur: the nusach of your prayers - Ashkenaz, Sepharad or Edot HaMizrach - kept in step with the Hebrew calendar, with no internet either (offline).
• Real-time zmanim: a precise astronomical calculation of every time of the day, done inside the app, from your GPS or from a city you pick, adapted for outside Israel and for those who live there.
• Find a Minyan: locate synagogues and minyanim near you, with no connection either, built on crowd wisdom and user verification. You can add reminders for specific minyanim.
• A prayer compass: it shows the exact direction of prayer from anywhere in Israel and the world. Calibration is available when needed.
• An advanced alarm system: an alarm clock with a range of sounds, made for Shabbat and holidays, alongside reminders for Shabbat preparations, for times of the day you choose, for the meat-to-dairy wait and for prayers.
• A vast Jewish library: 742 books, all of them downloadable for offline use, sorted into a range of categories: Tanach; Chazal - including the Talmud with the classic daf in a comfortable layout; Halacha - from the Rishonim to Pninei Halacha; responsa, Kabbalah, mussar, machshava and chassidut.
• A wide range of daily studies within easy reach, with a "studied" checkmark and a personal progress calendar: Tehillim, Tikkun HaKlali, Daf Yomi in Bavli and Yerushalmi, Shnayim Mikra, Mishnah, Rambam, Shulchan Aruch, Aruch HaShulchan, Tanya, Tanach (traditional and 929), the Haftarah, Daf HaShavua and Chok LeYisrael.
• Hebrew calendar: holidays, weekly parashot and your own events, along with a date converter.
• Sefirat HaOmer: a daily reminder to count the Omer, with quick access to the blessing wording you chose.
• A timer on the Lock Screen, in the Dynamic Island and in Notification Center: as you choose, a countdown until Shabbat or a holiday begins, until a fast ends, and until the meat-to-dairy wait is over - with no need to open the app.
• Widgets and shortcuts: widgets - Shabbat times, zmanim, the calendar, the daily study and the nearest minyan. Shortcuts from the app icon - the alarm system, Find a Minyan, Birkat HaMazon, zmanim.
• An advanced reading experience: bookmarks, font and size, color themes, text search, margin width, full screen, automatic scrolling and more.
• A personal account: signing in gives you your bookmarks, your chosen studies, the preparation lists and the alerts on every device you sign in from.
All of it wrapped in a modern, clean and fast design made for Apple devices. Almost the whole app works with no internet (offline), so nothing stops your day.
"Siddur HaYom" is completely free and ad-free.
The classic daf: in the Talmud and the Daf Yomi a button now switches to the traditional photographed page in the Vilna layout, with Rashi and Tosafot in their places.
Live countdown: four countdowns appear by themselves in a notification with a ticking clock, without opening the app - until Shabbat or a holiday begins, the meat-to-dairy wait, a weekday time you set a reminder for, and a fast. Tapping leads to the matching screen, and in Settings you can choose which ones are shown.
A reminder to check your alarm clock: half an hour before candle lighting, and only when a Shabbat or holiday alarm is active, a reminder arrives to make sure the alarm will be heard.
Sounds: 25 new alert sounds were added. The same sounds serve the alarm clock and every reminder.
Find a Minyan: a synagogue whose minyanim run back to back is marked with a "Shtiebel" tag and shows a time window and interval instead of a list. You can be alerted about any minyan without marking the synagogue as a favorite, including a one-time "today only" or "tomorrow only" alert, and it fires by the synagogue's own clock. A single minyan can also be shared on its own, from the three-dot menu on its card. A Selichot minyan was added as well.
Account: signing in carries your data to every device you sign in on - study checkmarks, the Shabbat and holiday preparation lists, minyan alerts, bookmarks and pinned studies.
Reading: the reader's display settings - alignment, margins, line spacing and color themes - now apply to every reader in the app: the library, the daily and personal study, Shnayim Mikra and Chok LeYisrael. "Keep the screen awake" works in all of them. In Study Mode the commentary list is complete, and Onkelos and the other Targumim joined it. A double tap on the text starts and stops the automatic scroll, without opening the menu.
Library: your bookmarks and downloaded books moved to the top of the screen, with a strip of recently opened books beneath them. Until now they sat below the categories. Shemonah Kevatzim now opens by its eight notebooks and by paragraph, the way the book itself is built.
Separating challah was added to the prayer list, in all three nusachim.
Shabbat and holiday preparations: from the reminder you can pick "Remind me in..." and postpone it for the tasks still left, and holiday eves have a list and a switch of their own.
Reports: you can attach up to three images to any message and receive images in the reply.
Settings: the screen is organized by topic.
Bug fixes and speed improvements.
