Epicrest 2.3.1 is a maintenance release that refreshes how the app is presented on the App Store. All of the outdoor discovery, AR, maps, weather, planning, offline, and private journal features from 2.3 remain available.

Epicrest 2.3 makes outdoor discovery faster, steadier, and more dependable. • Explore worldwide places from first launch, enriched by installed packs, cached data, and live results. • Find destinations with more forgiving search and more useful nearby recommendations. • Keep selected places and routes focused while maps retain trails, media, boundaries, alerts, and weather during refresh. • Use clearer, less distracting AR calibration guidance, refine saved bearing and elevation adjustments, and reopen the AR guide anytime. • Keep your location visible above the Home card. • Sync Journal photos and route details more safely with improved iCloud and optional encrypted Google Drive reconciliation. • Enjoy faster place, route, geometry, media, and map updates throughout the app. As always, Epicrest is ad-free, and older installed data remains compatible.

Epicrest 2.2 - A fresh, modern redesign A modern, flat design that now works in both light and dark and follows your system appearance, replacing the previous dark-only liquid-glass look. New navigation: a sidebar menu for Profile, Favorites, Offline Packs, License, Outdoor Insights, and Security, plus a single consolidated Settings home, with search moved to the top-right. Richer Journal and Plans: open the full detail card for any peak or place from an entry, and log multiple visit dates on a single entry. Outdoor Insights rebuilt to cover every kind of outdoor place, not just peaks, with a redesigned, swipeable Year in Epicrest you can share card by card. Faster, more reliable maps: places, trails, and trailheads now paint instantly from your downloaded offline packs.

Epicrest 2.1.1: Fixed a critical bug which impacted the availabillity of the map and map-related features. Epicrest 2.1 grows from a peak-first app into a daily outdoor companion for every kind of place to get outside, local parks, trails, lakes, canyons, beaches, viewpoints, campgrounds, and the summits too. GET OUTSIDE TODAY A redesigned Home recommends where to go right now by intent; quick walk, hike, parks, kids, stroller, dog, water, scenic, camp, picnic, sports, or peaks, and explains WHY each place fits: distance, weather, playground and restroom signals, mapped routes, scenery, and access alerts. ALL OUTDOOR PLACES Profile-aware cards for local parks, public lands, trailheads, campgrounds, lakes, canyons, viewpoints, and amenities, with practical facility facts (hours, restrooms, playgrounds, parking, water, fees, permits, dog- and stroller-friendly signals) and honest "good for" tags. A NEW MAP, BUILT ON MAPBOX We rebuilt the map on Mapbox for a faster, sharper experience: an Outdoor default plus a 3D Vista view, Satellite, and Topo; 3D terrain; trail outlines and park and public-land boundaries drawn right on the map; tap any place or route to focus it; and live weather map layers, radar, precipitation, temperature, wind, and clouds. OFFLINE MAP DOWNLOADS, REBUILT (PRO) Pick an exact area on an interactive map and save its Outdoor map, peaks, places, routes, and a weather snapshot for use with no signal. Downloads run in the background and can be paused and resumed. SUMMIT COMPANION A more polished Peak Detail with At a Glance facts, Weather & Light (golden hour, best visibility and photo windows), routes, Getting There, nearby peaks, and clear data-quality context. WEATHER WHERE IT HELPS Detailed forecasts and weather context now reach parks, trailheads, public lands, and more, with clearer alerts for closures and warnings. JOURNAL & PLANS Save, plan, visit, and journal any outdoor place, not just peaks. The Field Journal keeps notes, tags, photos, and routes, private by default. Plans organizes future outings with target dates and readiness checks. OUTDOOR INSIGHTS & YEAR IN EPICREST (PRO) A new local stats system built from your own journal and plans: trends, records, planning health, favorite routes, known elevation gain, and a premium annual recap. HELP IMPROVE PLACES Suggest corrections and missing facts for places and trails, with optional photos you can offer for public profiles after review. Plus privacy, manual, and performance updates throughout. Your journal photos stay private, on your device and in your iCloud, never on our servers. Epicrest stays ad-free.
